Great place. Menu was creative and interesting. Service was good, and everything tasted great.

Today I said to my parents, we should go out to dinner after i get my hair colored and run my errands. So then ensues the "where should we go?" conversation. I said well I'll check Yelp and see what I can find since we like to try new places around town. 56kitchen was one of the first restaurants that popped up so I started reading the reviews which were really good! Next I had to look at the pictures and everything looked delicious as well. Made a reservation on the website which was really easy to do. We got there at 6 and were seated right away. This place is really unassuming from the outside, just another door in a strip mall with a red sign above it. But like they say, looks can be deceiving! It's really nice inside with a unique vibe and doors hanging on the back wall (see the pics). Service was impeccable. I ordered the strawberry lemon drop and while a little sweet for me it was still good. Not a bad price at $7. But the star of this show was the food! I got the flank steak with fries (ok maybe a little hipster that they call them frites), but those frites were soooooo good! Steak was delicious as well and cooked perfectly. My dad got the pork chop and loved it, mom ordered the love bird and also enjoyed it. Maybe just a tad pricey at $94 for 3, but the food was so good and we're definitely going to go back. And isn't that the true testament? If you're willing to go back then you know you made a good choice! I'm thinking salmon for my next visit.... read more

Seriously Lin... Only four stars after the first visit?! Well well well now it's five stars. They actually revamped their happy hour menu, so I went back for that. There are more drinks and more food options. I absolutely LOOOVEDDD the fried artichoke dip I got during my first visit, so when I saw that it was gone I was bummed. Never fear though! Chefs are like artist and when I described the dish I got just barely a month ago they knew exactly what I was asking for. They so kindly obliged to making it. So hopefully they'll add it back on?? 11/14/20 I absolutely love this place! It's always amazing...doesn't seem to matter what I order. Of course, I did start with cauliflower wings because how do you not?! 56 Kitchen has good food and great customer service for the area! However, there were a couple of things that put a damper on my dining experience. I got the ratatouille appetizer and grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The ratatouille had great flavors but was not what I expected. Instead of the traditional circular disks, it was more like a bowl of veggies that were roasted on one pan. Tasted great, but for the price, the presentation was definitely lacking. The chicken in my sandwich was juicy and beautifully seasoned! On the other hand, the fries were cold, stale, and overall unappetizing. For me, the quality of food fell below my expectations given the price of the meal. read more

I just started coming here very recently. I assumed it was more for the younger crowd, appetizers/ cocktails, etc. What I discovered is quite the opposite. The staff is friendly and helpful, the interior tastefully decorated modern warehouse vibe with a more mature clientele. The menu sports appetizers, specialized pizzas, sandwiches and salads. I always order the plates which Includes your choice of chicken, beef, salmon, special sauces, a small salad and your choice of 2 sides! Beautifully prepared and presented. Delicious food, red beet salad was served with a large portion of field greens and a refreshing vinaigrette dressing. Added a salmon piece, the salmon was prepared perfectly and had a fresh taste that went well with the beets. A giant pretzel accompanied the salad, it could have been better if warmed. Restaurant makes cheesecake inhouse, the fresh banana cheesecake was not fully set up, I rarely if almost never send items back, but this one was full of empty calories and you better enjoy those calories in full. The back up slice was the blueberry cheesecake which did not disappoint and came on top of a chocolate icing swirl. Very good, very creamy, worth every calorie. Happy hour bar drinks till 6pm weekdays. Not a huge selection of beers, but some decent choices. Wine was 4.00 a glass and tasty red. Server was attentive and helpful. read more

Nice place! Nice ambience, good food, good drinks, good service. Food is good quality for the price, but i do think we paid a little too much for mac and cheese and burgers. But the drinks were great! We went for happy hour but none of the drinks we ordered fell on the list so we paid full price. And we got a hummus plate as an appetizer with pita bread and toasted sour-doe for $3 and it was enough for four of us! And we were pretty hungry! They have a huge wine selection and their mixed drinks were really good as well. Our waitress was very friendly, recommended some drinks and checked on us a lot. My friend had a small fly get into her drink as we were finishing up and the waitress took the drink off her bill which I thought was very considerate. We left her a generous tip :) Nice location for the place too, right in Solon circle. We went at 3:30pm and it wasn't too busy. We left around 5p and it picked up a little so I would check google or something to see the wait time before you leave if you go in the evening. I thought I knew what to expect, then they hit me with the specials. The specials, I tell ya. 56 Kitchen has a good enough menu. Not good enough to get me to pull the trigger and stop in for a couple years. But once I did, I realized I made a mistake. You see, they have their published menu, and a specials menu. The specials included Mussels, traditional or Asian, marinated grilled tuna with Bok Choy and forbidden rice, 56 brisket sandwich, a burger, a salad or two, and the drafts of the month. Yes, it's like a whole other menu. We arrived later in the night around 7:45, and there was a 5 minute wait. Thursday are live music night, the band good enough to qualify for free live music night at a local restaurant. We did have to wait a little bit for a server, which was quickly corrected by the owner who was sitting right next to us. Lucky us. Service the rest of the night was impeccable. My wife had the Mac & cheese with Brussels and bacon. It featured a light cheese sauce and enough bacon and Brussels to know they meant it. I had the brisket sandwich with pickled onions, arugula on a brioche bun. Top 2 brisket sandwiches I've ever had. Finished the dinner with fried dough balls, which served enough to feed 4 people. My wife and I stopped there with some friends to lunch. We started off with some cocktails. My wife had the short rib tacos (3), which came with cabbage and a cup of fire roasted salsa, and was very good. No other sides were served with it. She only had one taco and took the remaining 2 tacos home. I had the salmon club prepared medium rare. The salmon was prepared right on point, and served over a toasted house made Focaccia bread with herb aioli, bacon, avocado, and roasted tomato. It also came with fries that my wife help eat. The meal was very flavorful. The aioli added a nice layer of flavor. One of the best salmon dishes I ever had. On this trip I enjoyed their take on a Philly Steak Sandwich. The chili rubbed steak served with their fresh made horseradish spread and smoked mozzarella gave me the slightest hints of heat and smokiness all while still delivering on the things I already love and expect in the sandwich. We eat at the bar for dinner tonight. This was our first time coming to this restaurant. The steak flak was very moist with the butter sauce. They amount of food you get per plate is more then enough to fill you belly! The beaded zucchini has a crust that is made from Branco. Everything is made there in the restaurant (every sauce, too). They have 3 chiefs cooking! I am a person who tells the staff what I need right away when my food comes out (the chiefs we)! ho cooks it brings your food to the table)! I feel like I've been in a dining desert of mediocrity... this place was no different. Came here with my parents and their friends filled with excitement about the vegetarian options, pizza, drinks... really everything sounded great. It wasn't bad it just... was. I'd go back but not out of my way. Here's the rundown... Ambience it felt like a current restaurant, comfy and fun. No qualms here. But nothing special. Food, maybe it was an off night but it wasn't that great. I got the artichoke pizza. My pizza was greasy (not good greasy) with barely any toppings or seasoning I felt I was eating oil and cheese. The fries would of been good if they weren't ice cold and I don't even remember what my wife had which means well... probably not great. Drinks, well they can mix a solid old fashion I can give them that. Not too boozy not too sweet or watered down. A+ there. Service, once again maybe an off night. Our waitress took forever and then openly admitted she gave one of our drinks to another table because she forgot to bring them theirs lol... so rob Peter to pay Paul? Wonderful place in Solon! I'm not from the area but I drive to this location because I know the food, drink, and service and top notch. Even on their busy nights, food consistently comes out without long waits. I really enjoy the staff making attempts to get to know their customers. I highly recommend the tempura green beans! I picked out 56 Kitchen as a belated Valentine's Day date spot strictly based on fellow Yelper's reviews, and they certainly didn't disappoint. We went on their website and made an online reservation. It was a Saturday night and was busy, but we didn't have to wait at all. It's located in a strip mall, but don't let that scare you: it just means easy and plentiful parking. The ambiance and decor here is top notch. It's a really cool place. Our waitress Courtney did a really good job. Always on top of our drinks, and quick with the check. She had a good understanding of the menu too. We wanted an appetizer and she recommended the artichoke hearts. They were bomb. The breading was so light, flaky and full of flavor. I could have drank the housemade dipping sauce out of the serving dish, but the wife probably wouldn't have been impressed. It was all that tasty. Everything the waitresses were bringing out to the other guests looked so good. I'm that weirdo rubbernecking as they walk by with the trays, just trying to get a look at all the food. We both ended up ordering burgers. My wife got the farmhouse burger, which had maple bacon and an egg on it. She loved how all of the flavors worked together. My burger was one of their nightly specials, and had bacon, a tomato jam, jalapeños, and a sharp cheese that really complimented the meat well. The brioche buns were light and tasted great, and I liked the heaping pile of fries. The burgers were awesome, and I'd order one again. I'd say the only problem with the burgers was how both were cooked. We both ordered medium, and I'd say they were closer to medium-well, maybe even well-done. It gave them a fantastic crust, and I'm not picky, so I was still happy with it, but this could definitely upset someone that doesn't like a burger that way. We did a takeout dinner of large and tasty salads from 56 Kitchen. It's one of our in-laws' favorite takeout spots in Solon. I got a salad with arugula and other lettuces, pear slices, strawberries, and chicken with a vinaigrette dressing. Tasty and filling. read more

Decided to try this place after wanting to for awhile, went with the curbside pickup up. We ordered the salmon dinner, and farmhouse burger, and then the buffalo califlower wings and the street corn. The street corn is 10/10 100% recommend, super yummy. It's grilled corn, with some type of aoli sauce and parmesan cheese. Overall the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Only complaint was the food took and extra 15 minutes passed the promised time, however we didn't mind waiting in the car. We will be back! read more

I quickly figured out why 56 Kitchen owned such a strong Yelp rating...great service and outstanding cuisine, despite being buried in an unassuming strip mall. Stopped into 'the 56' while in Ohio on business with two other colleagues. After consulting Yelp, we quickly zeroed in on this popular eatery in this suburb of the city that Lebron James made famous by winning the NBA Championship in 2016 after a 52-year professional sports title drought. We started with the Artichoke Hearts with the house-made Fattoria Sauce....really tasty. Next we tried 56's two soups: the Portuguese White Bean & Kale as well as their Silky Tomato Soup. Both were excellent. For our entrees, two at our table enjoyed the Trout Marnier w/ Mashed Zucchini Quinoa and Roasted Brussels Sprouts. The delicious farm raised trout was meaty and sautéed just right. The third person at our table also had the Herb Roasted Chicken and gave it rave reviews. At the suggestion of our server, we had to jump for a few desserts recommended by our gregarious server including a slice of a dressed-up cheesecake and a unique triple chocolate delight. 4.5 stars!!! I should give 5 stars but I think 5 is like too PERFECT and there is always room for perfection..I got herb chicken plate and it was full of herbs and perfectly cooked!! I also got side potatoes. Over all it was AWESOME! Last but not the least dessert time.. and I got cheese cake which mashed dates and berries, we'll never heard of it before, the lady gave us zillion dessert options and i couldn't resist to get one of 'em tho I was so full. Visited about a month ago when I was in Cleveland and it was excellent. Our server was awesome, asked our entire party of six our names and referenced us by name thereafter. For appetizers we had the wings (yum...more please) and the calamari (good bit not great). Oh and Brussels sprouts which were good as well (crispy bitflavor was mild). For my meal I had a salmon &avocado with bacon that was delicious. It was open faced which was different but flavors was great. This is such a great place. I've been here for happy hour and lunch and each time it is consistently great. The staff is friendly the food options change frequently and the prices are appropriate. A quick story: I went there for lunch once during work and had an hour to eat and be back in my seat. I explained my situation to the waitress and she had me fed and out within 30 minutes. It was great. Try everything! The burgers a juicy and the salads are colorful. This place gets crowded after 5pm because they have a good happy hour. Solid little place. Originally not too excited that it was located in a plaza but it is nicely decorated and once inside you wouldn't know it. Server named Lea was really nice and gave us great service. Tried the farmhouse burger and the pizza with pepperoni, meatball and sausage. They make the meatballs and sausage homemade. I enjoyed both the pizza and the burger. They also have sandwiches, salads and daily specials. I would like to go back and try other things on the menu. read more
