Yeah, they serve it with a just-right crust and inventive toppings. Blue plate specials? Again, you'll be thrilled. Choose your protein, salad and sides to complete a cost-freindly and filling entree. Looking for a cocktail? The bar will serve up a margarita with jalapeno accent. The staff is friendly. Great food. Always fresh. We especially enjoy the pizzas and the salads. Service is typically very helpful and attentive.

Other than the gentleman the greeted and sat us, I had a poor experience. Waitresses was bland and didn't recommend anything, even when we were trying to decide what to order. It was also very weird when she said she would give us a minute to decide and literally 30 seconds later she was back asking if we were ready. There were hardly any other people there (5:30, Friday night) so not sure why there was such a rush. I ordered the short rib burger. My husband got the Ohio fried chicken. None of our food was hot! It was all cold. Made me feel like it was pre-made and then nuked, but not for long enough. Fries were soggy. Also got the sweet corn and it was 3 extremely mini pieces of corn on the cob. Again...cold. I had a stomach ache after dinner and would be surprised if it was due to bacteria since the food was not heated up. While the waitress was in a rush to get our order in, she wasn't in a rush to bring us our credit card back. We were trying to make it to a movie and had to stand up at our table, looking like we were about to leave to give her the hint to cut the chit chat and bring us our card so we could leave. Nothing really makes me want to come back, unless I decide to try a salad for lunch one day...should be ok eating that cold. read more

The service at the bar was so bad on March 10th that we left after 1 drink and before dinner. The explanation from the bartender was that she got a lot of other customer tables. ie. 56 Kitchen is a great place for lunch, especially if you work near by. The service is usually pretty decent, menu choices are unique, and the atmosphere is open and spacious. Note, take a look at the far back wall! You won't be disappointed! I had lunch here on two different occasions and both times were great! I recommend to try this place if you don't have a limited lunch time as it can be busy and your food may come out a little slower! I had the French Kiss salad the first time and it was bigger than I imagined. The second time around, I had the Trio Sampler which was awesome because you were able to try a small sandwich, salad, and their amazing french fries! This place is amazing ! My wife and I and son decided on a late lunch on Tuesday afternoon. We heard about it but have not dined here yet . We got 56 kitchen for takeout tonight and we're super pleased with our delicious meals. I ordered the salmon avocado sandwich and my husband ordered the double cheeseburger. We were so pleased that the takeout food arrived fresh, warm, and tasty! It was almost like we were eating in the restaurant itself - no soggy fries!! They have a simple and unique menu that has both healthy and unhealthy (ie bar type food) choices. The staff was polite and the restaurant appeared very clean and it looked like they were following proper social distancing guidelines. My wife had her doubts as I pulled into the stripmall and pointed out the unassuming storefront where we were headed to dinner, but they were gone as soon as we stepped inside. 56 Kitchen has a hip decor and vibe, friendly service, and awesome food. We started with a delicious bruschetta appetizer that comes with plenty of goat cheese and hummus spreads. I ordered a special - the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. Just the right amount of tang, cheese, and, I think, some curry on the brisket, made this a real treat. They also do vegetables right, which is nice. I added a side of roasted brussel sprouts that were great. My wife had the French Kiss salad with added steak strips and loved the chili rub that came on them. I recently visited with the Yelp Supper Club and we had about 10+ people in our group (great turn out). While Solon is a bit of a hike from Cleveland I love seeing other suburbs and trying new restaurants. This place is decorated in what I consider to be "Trendy". Not too modern but bright and clean enough to make me feel like I am about to have a great experience. We had 2 servers for our table and thought they did a great job getting our food in a timely manner and checking in on us periodically. I ordered the Lovely Bird which is a chicken sandwich with Swiss, Lettuce, Tomato Jam and Brussels Sprouts. I thought it was divine! I love the idea of brussels sprouts on a sandwich! 56 Kitchen is the lovely, local modern eatery Solon has needed for so long! It is so unexpected in so many ways. Their name is an extension of their sister restaurant, Café 56, which features 56 types of salads. 56 Kitchen is all American fare, sourced responsibly with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. The inside is super chic with rustic accents and dark colors. Also, I can't explain it, but the menu is worded in such a way where I want to eat everything. Pizzas? Sandwiches? Small plates? I'll have them all. Coming here hungry may be the best idea or the worst idea you've ever had. The servers are super knowledgeable and happy to help you make your choices. I loved the 56 Philly Steak sandwich! Would order it again in a minute. When we had an issue during our meal, I was so impressed that the management came out right away to address it. That is so rare, and it's so uplifting to see a staff that truly cares about their customers! They also do take-out here, and I honestly cannot wait until I return. We just found this restaurant. All that I can say is "Wow!" We had hamburgers, and they were delicious! The atmosphere is relaxed, with some oldies in the music mix. Our waitress was attentive and kept our tumblers full of iced tea. Apparently they're one of the few places that offer malt vinegar for french fries. And the fries were fresh-cut and fried! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Solon area. read more

Menu has broad range of foods; from vegetarian to burgers to gourmet to comfort to pizza. Everything was cooked properly and ingredients were fresh or quality or both. Soup is huge. Portions are bigger than average. Service: solid higher end. Good professional server. To the server's credit one dish was not up to standards and he noticed. Immediately apologized and took it away. He said they recommend medium so that's what I went for....but I got a piece of salmon that was hardly cooked. Center was very gelatinous and not flaky as a piece of cooked salmon should be. Fresh cut fries were good, though I got a lot of small pieces of fries rather than whole fries. Overall, a good place. First time dining at 56 kitchen after finding out they had vegan options. Since we are currently in a pandemic, we preferred to dine outdoors, but the small 2 seater tables were not ideal, so we ate inside where every other table was labeled do not use. Service was outstanding & the owner/manager chatted w/ us for several minutes to thank us for dining there. My husband had the vegan banh mi & I had the roasted cauliflower w/ brussels sprouts. We both had the small field green side salad w/ balsamic dressing. The owner treated us to their vegan donut holes w/ fruit preserves. We both enjoyed our experience but felt their could be improvements to what we ate. My cauliflower 'steak' was underdone (too hard) and the soy saki miso sauce I selected was too sweet. Ken Stewart's in Akron has mastered the cauliflower 'steak' to perfection, so I wish it was as tender & flavorful as theirs. Brussels sprouts were very good with a light crispy outside. The portion was huge, so I took half of it home. My husband liked his sandwich, but said the vegan bean based patty was a little mushy & would have preferred seitan or tofu instead. He loved the hand cut french fries. The salad was simple & creamy balsamic dressing was excellent. The donut holes were good but overcooked. Has they been fried a minute less, they would have been softer. The berry preserves were excellent. The owner said pre-covid, they had a few more vegan options, but since the majority of their business is now carry out, they favor more take home friendly options. Great to see they have vegan cheese as an option for their pizza too. As I said to the owner, we always appreciate restaurants that have great vegan options, so keep expanding those! read more

I definitely recommend the shrimp and grits. However, I usually go in for a burger, but lately the burgers have not been that great they are burnt or stale, I am convinced that they are pre-cooked and heated up when they are ordered, the hummus is also good. I've been here twice now and have had a bad experience both times. The more recent time I ordered a simple chicken sandwich and asked for no tomato and to add bacon. After waiting about 30 min for the food, it comes out with the tomato AND mayo (which wasn't listed on the menu) and no bacon. I was in a hurry so didn't have time to have it remade and I hate mayo so that ruined my meal, and I was charged for bacon when I didn't even receive it. And all the meals my group got were very small and overpriced. The food is also bland and the menu is lackluster. I've tried it twice and I don't think I'll ever go back. read more
