WOW! I can honestly say this is one place to avoid for any nice dining experience or well prepared food. I ordered a filet mignon medium well and got a bloody rare steak delivered. When I sent it back for a medium well it came back tooth picked together and burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside! I asked the manager that brought it back out why the cook doesn't know how to cook a steak properly? He told me lots of people order steaks here and I shouldn't come back to 5th tavern for a steak again if I don't like it! I agreed, I won't come back!! I've never run across such a rude and condescending manager in any restaurant ever as I did on12/12/25! I was completely offended and only told you the tip of what he said to me and my wife. That man should be fired and the cooks re-trained. NEVER AGAIN!!! And, what the heck was that black thing in the middle of my bake potato???

Kids spaghetti

I went here for a family celebration and had a good experience. We had a group of 14 so I understood when my water wasn't filled but still disappointing. The children's spaghetti was HUGE portion, to which I was grateful. My burger was good, but not entirely memorable. We were under an air conditioner so my experience was colder than others. I'm thankful I had a sweater in the summer.

Lobster grilled cheese with onion rings and an amazing tomato dipping sauce.

This is why I need to look at the reviews more than just the overall rating. I might not have given 5th Tavern a try based on the 3 star rating. But, we got a recommendation that superseded the average of the 471 people who wrote reviews before. Thank you, friend. It was busy, and it took a while to get a server. I was starting to imagine why the score was lower than I would've wanted. Then, the waiter showed up, and took our order without writing anything down. I'd rather not help somebody use our order as a memory training device. My wife always has special requests, and it never ends well. I was expecting a disaster. But, first, they brought out freshly baked bread. It was amazing. Then, our orders were delivered pretty quickly after we placed the order, considering how busy it was. And, everything was exactly what we ordered. My wife loved her salmon salad with feta cheese on it, per her request. My wife's mom couldn't finish the Ruben she ordered, but she loved what she had. And, I was impressed by how good my lobster grilled cheese was. There was actual lobster, and a good amount of it. The cheese didn't add much, but it was grilled to a golden crisp in butter, and it was delicious. My sandwich was served with a chunky sauce, which turned out to be the base for a superb, tomato and asparagus bisque. The pesto drizzle was a nice addition. I was surprised that the prices were reasonable, considering all you get. What in the world were people thinking who gave it a bad review? Well, don't worry about them. It seems that the bad reviews were talking about the service. We had an excellent waiter, and that makes all the difference. Ask for a good server, and I'm sure you will be pleased with 5th Tavern.

Amazing clam chowder soup, Caesar salad and bread.

I took my wife to 5th Tavern for the first time last night and it was AMAZING! We shared a Rattlesnake Pasta and their 14oz Prime Rib special. From the soup to the salad to the side to the main entree it was incredible. When my wife took her first bite of the pasta she said "We need to come back here!!!". It was just that good. If you go ask for Duane to be your waiter and ask him to sing for you. We are going back in August for my daughter's birthday. If it was closer to us we'd be going more often.

5th Tavern Bloomfield Came here for an event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice lighting. Nice staff. Busy parking space. Bar. A welcome atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe work on some bright cocktails. Not much on their drink menu. Could be improved for improved sales. I had the Porterhouse with mushrooms and potato. My wife had the full Baby Back Ribs and chili. All items were good. No issues except for my Porterhouse which was a little salty when dunked in the zip sauce. Maybe next time, I will not use the zip sauce. Missing the "au jus". Ribs were excellent and soft, almost fall off the bone. No wait. Fast service. Semi-casual. Highly recommended

I really enjoy this restaurant. It's clean, most of the staff is friendly. One thing I don't care for --- every time I've been here the last few months, the women's bathroom is either dirty, stalls out of toilet paper or the trash is over flowing. When I see dirty bathrooms it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. ‍ Anyway, the food is delicious. This time around I had the steak salad (note to self - next time, ask for it to be chopped and mixed). The steak was top notch! Perfectly seasons for being atop a salad and cooked exactly as i requested. All fresh ingredients and the tomato dressing was a perfect accent to the dish. I also had a spiked hot chocolate, it was a good pour of tequila and served hot. I highly recommend both of these items.

Friendly service in a casual restaurant environment. Really loved the soup and the inexpensive wine (chandon split are only $9). Make a reservation on the weekend, they can get super busy!

Atrocious management. Easter Sunday brunch was a complete cluster-bleep, empty buffet trays and no food line integrity. Never again.

Below average, inconsistent establishment. I've been here many times and every time the same dish is made different.

The strawberry cheesecake was very good. The steak cooked on the rock and was very flavorful. I would go back.

The only thing that would make this place any better is if they had a liquor license! We came in and seated ourselves; we were greeted warmly right away by our server. The decor is cute and modern with bright colors and has a good vibe. The menu is really interesting - there are a lot of good items on it and it was hard to choose! I was really tempted by the birria ramen - I may have to come back just to try that. I like that they have traditional Mexican/Tex Mex food as well as wings, burgers, and salads. Anyone would be happy eating here. To start, the chips came out hot and freshly fried and the salsa is nice and mild with a lot of tomato flavor. My Mom ordered the Ghost smash burger and I had the spice dusted wings. Both of those come with fries or tots, and we got fries. I also got a side salad with their southwest Caesar dressing, and it was really good. Topped with fresh tortilla strips and a decent amount of dressing - it wasn't overdressed, but I might get it on the side next time. Fresh and yummy. I really enjoyed the wings - they were a decent size and not overly breaded or frozen wing dings. These are legit chicken wings and I love the spice mixture as well as the delicious cotija ranch type dressing they come with. That's really good. My Mom's burger was also delicious - nice and hot with queso sauce and a fresh soft bun. A pretty perfect large burger. I will say that they're using frozen potato products, but with such a small workspace, I can see why that's necessary. And I'm not mad at it - the prices are very reasonable, and they came out hot and crispy with seasoning on them, so they're definitely decent. We'll be back every time we're in Pontiac! They're very close to the UWM campus and sports complex, so that's a big plus. They have specials, and on Saturdays KIDS EAT FREE!

A friend was babysitting for us tonight and we finally got to try it ... it definitely lived up to my expectations! We started off with the smoked Old Fashioned for my husband - $45 so a bit pricey, but the presentation was super nice - and a cocktail for me. We got the tableside Caesar salad - again pricey, $20 per person and if it's for two people you can get it tableside (which was REALLY cool btw) but if for 3+ people I don't think you can. They literally roll out this huge cart to make it though and it was pretty neat. I had the mushroom pasta with filet mignon tips and it was great; my husband had the sausage pasta which I also liked. We weren't planning on getting dessert (I think, haha - I was pretty full, at least), but we got the tiramisu and the tiramisu drink for my husband (I was driving). Both were very good - the tiramisu isn't large by any means but is enough for 1-2 people. The drink comes with a huge ladyfinger on top. Overall I was very impressed by the food, atmosphere, and waitstaff here - it's not an inexpensive place ($40 for two salads is a bit pricey!) but everything was fabulous, and I definitely want to return at some point. There's also a wine bar next door, I believe, and I didn't know that Prime 29, Nara, and a few other local restaurants are all in the same restaurant group/ownership as Aurora.
