We experienced nothing but perfection at every interaction tonight. We were seated quickly, the ambience was spacious yet cozy, the personnel were friendly, and professional with perfect timing throughout the evening (thank you Emily). The food was also perfect. Our only regret was we were too full to keep ordering different entrées. The open kitchen allow us wonderful opportunities to see the perfection coming together from the whole team behind the line. The bar offered all the normal stuff, but I recommend their signature rum cocktails. We finished off the evening, sitting by the fire, enjoying a glass of wine. Pricing was reasonable and we will be back.

Hubby booked this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. They were nice upon arrival and wished us a happy anniversary. But nothing else special about it. The atmosphere is nice. Open kitchen concept so customers can see the cooks and servers while food is being prepared. I love this vibe! There was a beautiful fireplace but we were seating kind of far away from it so didn't get to enjoy it or feel it. Bar is very nice kind of in the middle of the restaurant. Live music was being played in another part of the restaurant. The menu has a couple of options. Not a big menu probably being a farm to table and having a specialized menu. Was really wishing for a steak, like filet, at a place like this. Meals don't come with sides so must get them a la carte. Drinks are on the pricey side, around $18 each. They are good but reminds me on downtown Detroit or city prices but in the suburb prices. Nothing fancy about the drinks just seasonal so that's probably all the hype around them. Food was good and tasted fresh. Chicken dinner was app. $30 plus $ to add side of mashed potatoes. Just not sure it was worth the price. The waiter was nice on the quiet side and only came around when he noticed something was needed. $200+ tip for chicken, rabbit, mashed potatoes, gizzards and 4 drinks. This is nice for a special occasion, but won't be on our regular restaurant list.

What a wonderfully charming location! Located on 5 acres of land this charming dinner spot provides farm to table food in a barn that's made with 300-year-old beams. They have a huge garden area that you can view outside and they have a large outdoor seating area with heaters so even on a cooler night it provides comfortable dining experience. We were seated inside and were a party of six. It was a little tight at the table because we were right up against the wall, so there was very little room for our table chairs to go. We tried the stuffed peppers and the bread service as a starter and they were both delicious. For my main entrée, I had the chicken. It was moist and seasoned perfectly. The vegetables were delicious although they could've been cooked just a hair longer. I also have their version of their old-fashioned and it was delicious. Very well balanced.

My husband and I attended the tiki dinner event. We made reservations about 6 weeks in advance. Hoping this is an annual event! This was our first time to Sylvan Table so my review will pertain to the event versus the restaurant experience. The tiki dinner was outside near the barn. We were seated at communal tables. Love how we were greeted with a lei. My husband and I showed up in Hawaiian clothes too! Our five course dinner (really 7 courses) with 5 cocktails (mocktails were an option too) was incredible! I knew we were getting 5 courses, but the 5 cocktails was a surprise! I tried all the drinks but couldn't finish the last two. The Aloe-ha Spritz was so refreshing. One of my favorites! The night was so great. Each meal came out with a cocktail pairing. We had live music throughout dinner too. At the end of the night, we were surprised with fire dancers! Pretty incredible! Definitely want to come back and try dinner. I was able to take a sneak peek. It's beautiful. Absolutely love how beautiful the bar is!

Loved everything about our experience! The farmhouse was so charming with all the rustic decor. The beef gnocchi was so good. Things were a bit slow but it was very busy so we didn't mind at all. Will be back!

My husband and I came here today for the first time, his birthday is tomorrow. We lucked out and got a reservation also today, I don't know if they opened up reservations late or something or just a slew of them opened up, but I grabbed a 6:15 p.m. one. Our waiter was Ian and he was very personable. We were seated at a table next to the kitchen, they have an open kitchen so it was pretty interesting to see. I do think next time I would have preferred sitting in the atrium-type area near the back of the restaurant but it was fun to see them work. We ordered: -Sylvan 75 for my husband -NA hibiscus drink for me, because I'm pregnant. Kind of expensive, $14, but with a sugar rim, and very tasty. -Asparagus. This was the only miss of the night for me, mostly because of the red pepper flakes making it a little spicy. -Mushrooms. Very tasty -Cavatelli - I was leaning towards getting the ribeye or pork but my husband suggested this, and I was glad he did because I really liked it. I'm pretty sure they make the pasta in-house and you can tell. -Lamb sausage. This was my husband's dish and he really enjoyed it as well. -Sundae. Again a little pricey, $12, but the strawberry syrup was great and they brought out a little candle for him as well. Overall I would definitely come back here, I would probably give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. They have a little outdoor area where you can eat also, there was a party there tonight though. (Outdoors but insulated) The one thing to be aware of is there is a 3% credit card fee. They are very transparent about this, it's posted on their reservation page and also around the restaurant, so we brought cash to use. It does irk me a bit when fine dining places do this, though. Other than that I thought everything was great and lived up to my expectations, I had been waiting to come here since it opened a few years ago.

I highly recommend Sylvan Table. From the elegant yet rustic atmosphere and decor to the incredibly knowledgeable and friendly wait staff, I was blown away by this restaurant. Every dish that came to our table was fresh and delicious. Our server Whitney made the night so special and gave my fiancé a signed birthday card from all of the staff at the end of the night. This is truly a remarkable spot. I definitely found a gem!!!

Every single time I've come here over the years it's been consistently delicious and wonderful service and atmosphere. We have closed out the restaurant repeatedly and they did not ever bother us. Servers went over and above for occasions giving cards signed by the staff and desserts. Seasonal drinks/menu, home made bread and emphasis on locally sourced fresh food is legit and ideal. This week their French onion soup was rich with flavor and would pay rent to live in it!

    Samoa old fashioned

Went here for my birthday on a Sunday night, and I was so impressed!! Our server was Whitney, and she was extremely attentive, personable, kind, and professional. She was extremely knowledgeable of the food and drink menu, and gave very good recs of what to order. The chicken under a brick was delicious, and so was the Samoa old fashioned. Super good options for pork, seafood, chicken, and vegan options :) Once again, Whitney was the best!!

I am so inspired and impressed by this place. For so many reasons beyond the amazing Farm to Table menu options. Party of Six and everyone loved what they ordered. There is something for everybody here. I am a plant-based eater and had the most amazing zucchini noodle creation. They have cocktails and mocktails and healthy sodas and the space is magnificent wherever you sit. If I lived here, I would be here every week but I live in California so whenever I visit my family and friends, I will be back!

Sylvan Table is always such a treat. Everything we had was full of flavor and so fresh -- the kind of food that makes you slow down and really enjoy it. Dessert was the perfect finish, and the setting made it even better: flowers on the tables, twinkle lights as the sun set, and the dogs running through the garden in their little outfits. A place that always feels special without trying too hard. Been here 3x now!!

Food was amazing but our service was and all time high. Maranda was the absolute best I've ever had as a waitress. Me and my friend dined in for valentines as we are single baddies. Definitely will be coming back for Maranda. We got the bone marrow, and Brussels sprouts to share. Then I got the short rib, my friend got the fish cakes. So yummy, the ambiance was amazing everyone was so friendly.

Ask the Community - Sylvan Table

    Is Sylvan table kid friendly?

The dining area (particularly outside) is probably kid friendly. The menu - maybe not so much, depending on the kid. For more daring eaters, possibly.

    What is the dress code?

We were there for a 5pm Sunday dinner. People were dressed very casually. I'd go 'nice casual'. Friday or Saturday prime time evenings could be different--maybe someone else could answer that.

Can we bring our own wine?

Call them. I'm unsure if any other upscale restaurants allow you to bring in your own drinks but to be sure call them.

Do you take walk ins? I see the reservations online are booked way out for a decent time?

You can walk in and sit at the bar or the patio. I recommend getting there right when they open.

I'm not the most educated wine person, but there seemed to be a little bit of everything here. Great location and easy to find. They also have wine tastings here as well, and if you check in, you get 50% off. Guy seemed knowledgeable and passionate about the business. I love that I'm dealing with someone who KNOWS what their selling, and can educate me during the process. I was offered a free sample of wine, which I passed on, but definitely a positive! The negatives: Prices are a bit steep, and even though I'm sure it's quality stuff. $50 a bottle is a bit much for me. Sometimes I want a $9.99 bottle because sometimes it's just a matter of picking up a bottle to take to a party or serve at my house with dinner. They have a cute bar, but the seating is limited. I wanted to sit down and drink after I walked around, but a birthday party walked in and the one chair was in the middle of the party. Not the Wine stores fault, but a bigger bar would have been good. I don't think they serve food. I don't require a full meal, but snacks with wine seems to help hold the stomach, and absorb the wine when doing a tasting. I didn't ask, but I'm pretty sure they don't serve food. I want more wine knick knacks! Hardly any merchandise for sale! Overall a great place. I would love to return for a tasting and learn about wine again.

There is a downstairs area (with bar), upstairs area and outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer. We completely lucked out and got the private room upstairs even though we didn't book it specifically. I loved the location being in the historic district, and they did an amazing job with restoring the mill into a cute restaurant. I had scoped everything out ahead of time so had adjusted my expectations for smaller portions and ordered accordingly. Unfortunately they don't have their cocktail menu online and I can't recall the name of what I ordered but it was very good. Everyone in our party was happy with their drinks. For food, we started with the monkey bread (10/10) - outstanding! The Caesar salad was also tasty. I got the mussels, which had really nice flavor and the sausage was a welcome addition - I just wish it had come with an extra toast or 2 for the broth. The smoked sturgeon was interesting - marinated and smoked for hours - you don't find that many places so I had to try, and really enjoyed it but wow the cornbread almost stole the show in that dish. Nobody cared for the pickled vegetables. Burger was a winner and really big actually. Dessert we got an assortment and the fan favorite was the creme brulee. They came and cleared dishes between courses, kept water glasses full, etc. and service was overall pretty top notch. We got lucky that they were able to seat us after a short wait. We were planning on taking seats at the bar (first come). If you want a table, you may want to make reservations. The restaurant is a house, lovely without being pretentious. With low lighting and low nose level, it would be perfect for a date. It has a New England feel, which makes sense as an oyster house, though they offer oysters from both coasts. The service was fantastic, particularly from our server Christina. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and had great timing, not an easy combination. My friend and I split the oyster roll and the fish special. The roll is a small plate, and it is very much appetizer sized, not meal. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I will note that they are pricy, I thought the cocktail prices were high for outside of the city. But otherwise a wonderful experience.

They were out of the "pretty potatoes" which was disappointing because they sounded super delicious. The restaurant is a little dark and when very busy can get a little loud. Relative to staff and facility, the restaurant is definately on the rustic side where it could probably use an update on the ceramic floors and tables/chairs. It's not bad but it would add greater appeal if they invested a little more money on the interior in my opinion. Staff was super friendly and I enjoyed my conversation with my waitress who also served as the bartender. Overall the uniqueness of this menu and how good the taco menu looked will definately bring me back in the near future as I need to give those guys a try as well. If you are in the area and are a fan of well prepared food you should definately give these guys a look see
