Meatloaf with Mac and cheese and onion rings.
    Mo A.

This place always delivers. We had the artichoke dip, chicken Cobb salad and meatloaf with Mac and cheese and onion rings. The dip was very fast and the toasted pita bread wedges were a great compliment. The salad is large and had lots of veggies and chicken. The meatloaf is awesome and the serving is huge.

Amazing food and amazing service! Veteran owned and operated. Service was fast. Food was hot and not greasy. We will be back soon!

My 1st time there with friends. It was clean quite and nice decor. I had the hickory burger was very delicious. The fries were fresh nice hot and soft. I enjoyed dinner there I will be returning. The waitress was nice and patiently waiting while we made our decision on what to eat. The server was also very kind. You pay your bill up at the counter it was nice. All was clean and organized employees were amazing. Thank you for reading my review.

    Hair in the mashed potatoes.

Ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Then for the kids I ordered chicken strips from the kid menu. The chicken strips were spicy and inedible for my kids. Then the chicken fried steak was very spicy as well, can't even enjoy it. Then when my wife decides to just eat the sides, she finds hair in the mash potatoes. When I called to get a refund on the chicken strips before finding out about the mash, the person on the other end of the line said she would refund me but it hasn't happened yet.

01 Sep 2024 This place is as good as its reviews. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with green beans and mac and cheese. The cream gravy is sublime. The green beans have garlic and small chunks of sausage throughout. The Mac is deliciously cheesy. Howard had the pulled pork burger which he devoured. His side was the Mac and cheese. Give them a try. They are in Helotes, so expect a half hour drive, depending on traffic. We started with the onion rings. How do they get the crust so delicately delicious? Really good, although I would expect a few more rings for $10. The service was fine. When we arrived, only one server was working and she closed down half of the restaurant. About the time we left, two more servers had shown up. This place is worth the drive to try. Go there.

A hidden gem in Helotes! Great comfort food for a great price! The staff was super friendly and very attentive and gave us recommendations on every section of the menu. I ordered the hangover burger with mac and cheese. The burger was good, it could have used a bit more of flavoring with a nice sauce, but overall good. The mac and cheese was amazing. My boyfriend ordered the triple cheese chipotle ranch burger and loved it. He ordered it with a side of onion rings that were perfectly crispy. Will definitely be back and try other burger options and some of their other dishes!

    $17.00 salad???

Called and ordered the spinach salad for my wife. The cost on the website was listed as 15.01. I was told by the individual who took the order the cost was now 17.00. When I arrived at the restaurant they refused to honor the website price. Awfully high for a salad. When I got home my wife opened the container and it was only half full! Outrageous! I know we are in an inflationary environment but this is ridiculous. They also have a surcharge to use your credit card but don't bother to tell you nor is it posted anywhere. Integrity issue here? Sad for a place supposedly run by former military .

We were on a hunt for bluebonnets in the Old Helotes area and unfortunately was not successful. We decided to visit @6klicks nearby for dinner yesterday. It was good to see Krista again, and she took care of us from start to finish. Dad had Lemonade, I had Dos Equis, and Hubby had Coors Light. I remembered food portions here were huge. We shared the Strawberry Spinach Salad, and couldn't finish it all. Dad and Hubby shared the Fried Seafood Platter with catfish, shrimp, and a side of mashed potatoes. I had the Coconut Shrimp with onion rings. I want to say that the onion rings are the best in town! I was telling Krista how an orange marmalade would be great with the coconut shrimp, and they only do it during specials. @6klicks is part of the San Antonio Restaurant Gold Club. Since we ordered 2 entrées, we got a dessert free. We chose the Key Lime Pie. So good! If you don't know, this restaurant is veteran-owned so come and check them out!

The food was great, the chicken fried steak was huge, we split it and we were both full. Our server Kyle was on point with everything. He was polite, friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back and bring some friends with me. The place was clean, inviting and patriotic. Do yourself a favor and go visit them.

We walk in and there were at least 3 waiters around looking at us confused if we should order at the counter seeing a line there or just seat ourselves. We finally decided to flag a waitress and ask her. As friendly as people are in this town it was not the case at this restaurant. The lady was short with her answers and almost felt like she is mocking our questions. I saw that the must try is the Texas Spud which seems to be a loaded baked potato. In general from what I know baked potatoes might include bacon and my friend doesn't eat bacon. The way she answered about it was such a turn off! We were about to have a full mean ended up opting to just try the Texas Spud and a side of onion rings since she recommended that The onion rings are old and inedible we left them. The Texas Spud when it came to the table I ended up having a full understanding of it by eating it. So basically it is a baked potato with chili on it (no meat) it feels it came from a can and cheese pickled jalapeño and sour cream decorated with tortilla chips around it. It was ok but I could say I have tried it. The restaurant itself is very old. I believe it is the oldest running restaurant in Bandera I got to see The John Wayne Room which is western-themed dining room. Decorated with memorabilia dedicated to "The Duke". Also they have a salad bar that looks like a wagon. Just take a picture of it from far away the veggies and everything in it looks very sad! Will I return to eat there? Definitely not! But I do not regret trying it out

The jalapeno hush puppies that came with it were excellent. However, the coleslaw had a very odd flavour, and neither of us liked it. It tasted acrid to me. I didn't really like the fries because of the seasoning, but I still had a few. The server initially gave my cousin water instead of the sweet tea that he ordered. Then, when he got sick and had to change it to Monday, we idiots did not look to see if it was open that day. We were driving out to Pipe's Creek to check on my trailer, so he looked online for restaurants in the area that were open and found Jo Mama's. After a quick look at the menu, we decided it was worth a try. They had several specialty burgers that all sounded good, so we stopped in. The dining room is tiny, but you do have the option of eating in Chubby's bar next door. We stayed in the dining room. The people working at the restaurant were all super nice and helpful. I ordered a bacon and blue cheese burger with a side of sweet potato fries and an extra cup of their homemade blue cheese dressing for dipping. My son ordered the Frito pie burger with tater tots. We also both ordered sweet tea, which was actually bottles of Gold Peak. My son did surprisingly well with his burger. It was super loaded with chili and thus super messy. After he had scarfed the burger down, he had a full serving of Frito pie on his plate. He said the chili was awesome. The tots however were just "okay". My burger was amazing. The patty and bread were the perfect match. The bacon was thick and crispy. Everything came together to make it really delicious. But, if I'm honest, the highlight of my meal was the sweet potato fries. They were nice and crispy. But, what put them over the top was a generous sprinkle of sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla powder. That combination was positively addicting. I blindly ate all of them, which is very unusual for me. I normally eat about 6 or 8 fries and give the rest away. I visit my trailer to check on it after major storms and when I haven't camped as much. Plus I go to Pipe Creek to hook it up for trips and bring it back for storage. I'm pretty sure there will be a hamburger in my belly every time I go there in the future. I want to work through the menu and try the others. Why? Just because they are there, and after eating one of them, I know the rest are going to be awesome, too.
