The place has old school cartoons playing which is fun. They have tons of decor to look at and I would go back. My kid and the boyfriend had been here a few months ago and enjoyed it, saying it was cute inside with good service. So today when I was scanning Door Dash for a quick delivery and to use my big credit from the last order gone wrong, I thought why not? I hesitated for a second because a Door Dash reviewer said they had a wonderful Club sandwich but then a few months later returned and complained it was awful and had gone way downhill. Uh oh. Anyway, I went for it and my food arrived looking appealing and fresh. I received a stellar enormous club made with nice ingredients and it was beautifully constructed. The onion rings and fries were still hot and crispy and my diet pepsi was frosty and good. I could only eat half as it was enormous, so I stowed half in the fridge for later. This was a win. Took a bite of the Reuben sandwich and it was like biting into a hot ball of unstrung yarn, the corn beef was so tough I couldn't even bite through it. We ended up at The 60's Diner in Lincoln City, drawn in by its retro vibe and classic menu--burgers, fries, shakes, and sandwiches, just as you'd expect. There were five of us. Three ordered burgers, my daughter went with a veggie burger, and I opted for a grilled chicken salad. The kids were excited for their milkshakes, and we added onion rings and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. That's where things started to unravel. The mozzarella sticks came out frozen in the middle--literally. We had to send them back. Then one of the milkshakes was incorrect and had to be remade. I'd ordered a kid's cheeseburger and small shake for my grandson, but they brought out a full-sized burger and large shake instead. When I pointed it out, the server shrugged and insisted that's what I'd ordered. It wasn't. As for my grilled chicken salad... let's just say it was a disaster. The staff- aged the waiter if I could substitute chili cheese fries instead of regular fries he said ok. Great 60's style diner in the heart of Lincoln City! We chose to stroll in here one night for dinner and were happy that we discovered them. They can be found a little further back from McMenamins next to the laundromat. We walked in and we were seated immediately since it wasn't too busy. Inside they have 60's music playing in the background and 60's cartoons playing on the TVs, such as those Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoons. I immediately took a look at their milkshakes (yes, we're on vacation, so I'll have a milkshake whenever I please) and I ordered their Oreo milkshake, while my boyfriend ordered their strawberry milkshake. I swear, I literally finished that thing even before our food came out because it was THAT good! Alongside regular milkshakes, they also serve boozy milkshakes. For food, I had a regular cheeseburger and my boyfriend had the John Wayne. The cheeseburger was served with fries and the John Wayne was served with onion rings on the side. I was so close to finishing my burger completely, but I just became too full and decided to take it back with me. My boyfriend thought of the same thing and also brought it back with him. I ordered the John Wayne burger with NO bbq sauce. I repeated it 4 times. what did I get but BBQ Sauce and a side of bbq sauce and cheese on my burger (which it doesn't mention in the description) I don't like cheese on burgers. We came here during our vacation. We wanted to try fun local restaurants and my brother picked this place. It was so fun. We loved the 60's theme and atmosphere. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with Swiss cheese. It was really good. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisp, the cheese was nice and melted and the bun was toasted. It had great flavor. You can either choose fries or coleslaw. I chose the fries and I thought the fries were really yummy too. Perfect amount of salt and seasoned nice. The meal was very filling. Once again the service is unfriendly, not rude or anything just unfriendly ... different guy from last time... but same Attitude (obviously not his favorite place, day, or time to work either) . 5pm on a Saturday, walked in and got seated right away, restaurant had maybe 5 tables seated when we arrived, whole place has about 20 tables in total. There was also a table who arrived at the same time who were also seated right away. I don't blame the server, she was nice and showed that she cared enough to welcome us all in. Again, it was 5pm, DINNER TIME, on a Saturday... They were already at 25% capacity and had ONE server and ONE line cook. That was their entire crew. Beyond that point, we were never acknowledged again, neither was the couple who arrived before us. 15 minutes we sat there without a word from anybody, then we left. The other table also walked out right behind us. Once again, I do not blame the server. She works at a popular restaurant in a tourist town, left to drown alone on a busy weekend evening with no help. I guarantee you the owners of that restaurant are making money hand over fist while this poor woman makes minimum wage. It's Lincoln City, I lived there for 5 years, I know what it's like. But that was unacceptable and I will remember that experience forever. We come to LC fairly often and we always stay for dinner, to help support the local economy. Let's set the scene, it's early Spring on the Oregon coast during the pandemic and we are camping. We found the cafe as we drove through the area on our way to Depoe Bay. The sign for cafe spoke to me. It spoke of time that's been forgotten and set my hopes for a burger from the past. We entered this piece of history as a party of six and were not disappointed with our choice. The walls, ceilings, and floors were stacked with memorabilia of the "cultural decade." The televisions on either side of the room feature "The Three Stooges", "Betty Boop", and "The Flinstones." The walls had photos and articles pertaining to actors and musicians from the era. The ceilings were utilized with suspended hobby model planes. The burger for the evening was a Swiss Mushroom Burger paired with a side of curly fries. The choices for sides were fries, tots, or curly fries. I would've liked to see Susie Qs as an option to bring that nostalgic feeling. The burger was legit! Our sides, garlic bread and onion rings came within five minutes of ordering. The burgers for six people arrived under twenty minutes of ordering. We decided to head over to Lincoln City for the day to get some clean ocean air. We always end up at Road's End State Beach since the parking lot is huge, clean and never crowded. On the way there we stopped at the 60's Cafe and Diner after reading the reviews on Yelp. Because of COVID, we normally pack a small picnic lunch and tailgate it. Still a little leary of too much people contact and still not comfortable going inside most restaurants. The 60's Cafe and Diner hit the spot. We ordered takeout over the phone. The nicest most pleasant sounding woman took our order and about 10 minutes later we had our well packaged order in the car and made our way to the beach. Since any Diner worth it's salt should be judged by it's Club sandwich, I ordered the Turkey Club: sliced turkey, bacon, ham, Swiss & cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato on toasted sourdough ($14.75). It came with a side of cole slaw or French fires. Since the sandwich was enough to share, I opted for the cole slaw to feel less guilty. My husband, although not a vegetarian felt like the Garden Veggie Burger with cheddar cheese ($12.50) was calling his name. He also got the cole slaw. Alas, neither of us got to taste it until we got home as there were no plastic utensils included in the bag. Oh well, the sandwiches were delicious and we really didn't need the sides anyway (the cole slaw pretty average when we tried it later). The menu is pretty standard for a Diner: burgers, sandwiches, chili, fries, onion rings, a couple salads, ice cream and milk shakes along with a small kid's menu. What caught our attention were the grown-ups-only-over-21 "Boozy Shakes." How does the "Elvis Banana Rum" shake sound? What's better than rum, banana, and vanilla ice cream? Or how about the "Toasted Almond Coffee Bliss," whiskey, coffee liquor, Amaretto and vanilla ice cream? The 60's Cafe and Diner has about a half dozen different combos (and I'd bet you could even concoct your own if you asked nicely). We are definitely going to try one the first chance we get to dine in. The inside of the place is really cute too: red and white vinyl chairs, retro photos and artwork on the walls. There's a juke box (of course) and an old restored gas pump on display. Really does take you back to a simpler time. So slick back your hair and put on your poodle skirt, the 60's (and the 50's) really were some of the best of times! The 60's Diner and Cafe will take you back. read more
