This is for a roof installation with shingles located south of downtown San Diego. I'm very happy with their services and overall product. Eric and his team came to the rescue as I needed a roof installed for a small addition of a house days before rain was hitting the area. This was just for a 500 square area but they worked fast and with great attention to help me get the work going. The roof structure was made beautifully by Roberto and his crew. They always showed up early and would leave everything around the house in order at the end of the day. I had shingles installed in that new roof that blended very well with the old house. He always returns client calls. 619 Roofing wasn't the lowest bid (it was sort of midrange), but we decided to go with them because their quote is detailed, which gives us a sense of confidence they wouldn't try to upsell anything after the work starts. In the end, though there were some additional expenses after they took out the old roof and uncovered some more damages, the final invoice isn't shockingly higher than their preliminary work order. I had the worse experience with this company. Originally I obtained 3 bids for the same job. The First one was for 2800, second one was 619 roofing for 4500, third one for 6200. I decided to go with 619 roofing because Miguel told me if they have to replace the tiles and wood, all together will not exceed additional $1000. I kind of trusted him unfortunately. My problem started after 30 days when they sent me a long contract. No lawyer would read it for free. Miguel told me it's just a formality.after 3 weeks they started on a Friday and took off the roof completely. Then on Saturday they sent me another contract for change of order they wanted an additional 3800 dollars. He said its because my roof is very difficult and has two slopes. I told him you already saw my roof and walked on it and saw the slope. He said but I did not let him pick up the tiles to see what's under it. I said what happens if I don't sign the order change. He said He will put a lien on the property, I have to pay the full price. My roof was now unprotected, and He put the knife on my neck, if I don't sign, he will put a lien on the property. for fear of rain damage and other troubles, I asked him if this is the last order change, and no more asking for more money, he said that's the final order change. Ok, I signed it under Duress. They were supposed to show up on Monday, they did not, On Tuesday, they did not. I told them I loose rental income 1000 dollars a day, if they keep doing that and leave my roof unprotected, then at 4 pm they sent me an invoice for $6200, He said I have to pay it today because he was he felt threatened by me charging him 100 dollars a day for loss of rental., ow no work. I had only a few hours in the afternoon to find $6200 for him so that he starts to work. with all my friends and family, we gathered the money and paid it in full within those hours he gave us an ultimatum. They showed up on Wednesday, they told me they will replace 8 ply woods, they replaced only 3. By Friday they put most of the tiles that were there back. again they said they come back on Monday to put the remaining missing, broken tiles. I counted there were 50 missing. By Saturday, they sent me another change order for 120 tiles. Miguel denied he told me there will not be any more change of order. Again they forced me to sign it, ow they will not finish the job, and they will put the house on lien. Again I signed the order change under Duress. Miguel told me I was the most difficult customer from beginning. no other customer questions him. Then Pedro called me that he is superintendant and he is professional. I have to follow the orders and sign and pay, ow a lien will be placed, even if they quit the job now or at any time before its done. Next Monday they came at 9 am and put those 50 tiles on the roof by 11am they were done and left. I was charged for 120 tiles. Also those tiles that they brought back, were all refurbished, looked like my original tiles, just washed nicely. I could see my paints on some of them. Next day I looked outside the house and saw the flashing by the chimneys were not replaced, when I complained, Pedro said in order to replace that flashing he has to demolish the chimney and rebuild it, which is another job. (I Confirmed its not true by another roofer.) in my experience they don't look like professional roofers, but like professional scammers. Do not sign any papers with them. Do not believe what they say. Record all your conversations with them. The only compliment I have to give is for their very kind workers that they cleaned the mess after they were done. Wow! Where do I start, we could not be more pleased with the work we received from 619Roofing. We had been putting off a new roof due to the economy, but after taking with our neighbors they recommended 619Roofing. So sure enough the next day I called them up to get a quote. They were quick to respond and schedules an on-site quote for the next say. Once the site visit was completed we had all our options presented to use within 48hrs. They listened to our needs and concerns and answered all our questions. They instructed use on how to go about getting out solar removed so they could start the job. Once we are all ready to go the removal team came in promptly, acknowledged who they were and they we going to be on the property. We ended up fixing some old rotted wood, cracks in our sky lights and a repair/leak ; while reusing our existing tiles. Pictures were provided to us throughout the job. Each day the crew would clean up before their lunch and again at the end of the day. The over all job took 9days to complete. We have a home in Escondido with a flat Mansard roof which we replaced 13.5 years ago. In December 2023 during a rain storm we discovered a slow drip coming down through a recessed light can in our primary bedroom. We reached out to the roofer that had done the previous replacement for us. However, after three calls and no response, we contacted the owner of 619 Roofing at the recommendation of two of our neighbors. Eric the owner responded within the hour and came out to take a look within 24 hours of initial contact with him. Eric was able to quickly identify where the leak was originating from and provided two repair recommendations for us. The structure of our roof was still sound, however there was water pooling in certain areas all over the roof vs draining out the scuppers. We opted to of course repair the leak area, build up the areas where water was pooling and seal the entire flat roof with a Silicone Coating Overlay which comes with a 20-year warranty (similar to what they use on large warehouse roofs). Prior to the work being performed, with the imminent threat of rain in the forecast, Eric came over on a weekend to provide a temporary fix on the specific leak area, to prevent further leaking until they were able to do the entire job. Additionally, Eric was able to identify (through the use of an infrared camera) what water issues there may be between the ceiling and the roof (no attic), which turned out to be very wet insulation. He loaned us an industrial sized fan to try to dry the insulation over the course of 5-7 days, and checked in a couple of times to see if the fan was doing what we needed it to do. It worked and saved us a few thousand dollars in additional repairs. We cannot say enough good things about Eric and his crew. First and foremost, we felt such a relief after meeting and talking with Eric. He makes you feel like your leak issue is his leak issue. He truly cares about his customers and goes above and beyond. A plan, timeline and payment schedule were presented upfront. Communication throughout the process was outstanding. The crew that performed the work was on time each day, they were meticulous about being neat & tidy throughout the process, maneuvered carefully around our many solar panels and stayed focused on the project. Just got a new home and I decided to have the roof looked at AFTER I moved into it (haha - first timer/rookie mistake) -- anyway, I needed a new roof. I'll include some before and after shots just so that you can see what 619 took care of. I really am grateful for their whole team that I got to interact with from start to finish. (Skip the next paragraph if you don't want to see kudos...) The living legend - Gabriel, came out and did a thorough inspection and shot straight with me during his assessment (even telling me how much time I could likely delay the necessary work if I needed to -- it was a very "no pressure" approach, which is a plus). Alex gave me time to do a little comparison shopping before going with 619 and filled me in on any details I wondered about from the proposal. Emy was there at the office whenever I called with questions and explained what to expect from the process (I mean, I've never had a roof repair done before). Korina provided me with well-documented photo reports multiple times. And the crew that came out each day and took care of my roof (and my gutters!) were all really nice and took care of my property. They even helped me with a large delivery that was delivered while they were there and about to head out for the day! They didn't have to, but they did! Needless to say, it was a nice experience. I had the inspection, a proposal was sent and accepted on my part after shopping around, and then the crew got to work shortly after I chose the color I wanted for my shingles. Everything was done in about a week's time and then the small amount of gutter repair I needed was knocked out quickly, shortly after the roof was completed. The payment setup for my work on the roof was 1/3 on Day 1 when work started - 1/3 when they were about halfway through - 1/3 at about 80% completion - and then the last 10% upon completion. Not saying that'll be your specifics, but just providing the specifics in case you were curious. I'll let photos of their work speak for itself. There are a lot -- but it's because I really want you to get a good idea of what work was done on the roof, torch down, and gutters from start-to-finish. PS: They took these photos. This team provided by far the best experience I've had with a contractor. Ever. Since moving into our home 17 years ago we've had what was an undiagnosable roof leak. After consulting 4-5 roofers, having them come out and try to replicate the leak without success, I'd almost given up. This past winter's torrential rains almost forced me into therapy. Buckets and towels aren't my decor aesthetic. Then, while in the midst of a kitchen renovation, we pulled up flooring in our pantry only to discover a puddle between the subfloor and the concrete. The icing on the cake was a new leak in our daughter's bathroom, right above the toilet. Would you like a shower with your...um, whatever? Priceless. So because some of my neighbors had good things to say about 619Roofing, I called. Since that initial conversation, I almost wish I had more reasons to use them, just for the joy of having them show up on time, figure out the problem, outline the solution, receive the proposal, and watch them fix it all. They repaired and replaced about 1,000 square feet of roofing, reusing as much of the materials as they could, and demo-ing and rebuilding our primary bedroom patio. (They also replaced the rain gutters over the patio area, which were splitting at the seams and basically zero% effective.) Roofing isn't a glamorous project, but they did that beautifully. The patio, however? Gorgeous. Being forced into the project allowed me to replace the tile with something I liked more than the original. The best part, of course, is not having to remember where to strategically place buckets in case the rain sets in overnight. I was not fortunate enough to have similar experience with 619 Roofing as other reviewers. I had severe leak in four spots in a newly purchased home, my home warranty (American Home Shield, AHS) contracts their work through 619. My work order was expediated and I was informed by AHS that they spoke with 619 roofing to come out in 24 hours for evaluation/repair. 619 never reached out and I had to initiate the call with them. First they said they never received the work order from AHS which was later found to be because they didn't "check" their email. I call AHS again and they sorted this out with 619, Eric (one of the supervisors) informed them they would for sure come the next day. One more business day passes and I get a call to schedule for an "inspection (not repair)" one week out (during a rain season with rains expected in a week). Post inspection, they would send the report to AHS and the repair would be even further out. I had a friend intentionally call with a different phone number with same symptoms without going through AHS and Abbey (receptionist?) informs my friend they can come out same day for evaluation and to provide his address..... Basically I have two bedrooms with the ceiling dry walls completely soaked. Buckets in my attic and wasted two days just going back and forth with phone calls all while 619 focuses on who they can profit from the most while sidelining their contract works with home warranty companies. I could have at least asked for different contractors with AHS if Eric and the 619 team had been honest and told off AHS that they were "busy" and can't make the 24 hour window. Horrible experience, I can only imagine the shortcuts they take with their roofing work. read more

A week after that I txted Ulises for any update, no reply! I called 619 Roofing 3 or 4 times to get an update but every time I called them their reply is "they are too busy processing paper works and told me to wait!" To date 619 Roofing did not call or communicated with me. An hour ago, March 1, I received an email from AHS that tells me that my case was closed as 619 Roofing told them it was COMPLETED... 619 Roofing's negligence caused millions of dollars in damages and left 5 families homeless for the holidays. 619 Roofing was hired to replace the shingles of several townhouses in Loma Riviera Circle in San Diego. The crew was sloppy, dangerous, and negligent. With the biggest storm of the year was coming, they left the shingles off the roof and covered it with a flimsy plastic painter's tarp. That weekend, the roof leaked untold gallons of water, until the ceilings of several units collapsed. Several tenants called 619 Roofing's supposed 24-7 hotline, but it was not staffed. The slowly unfolding disaster continued over 24 hours until 619 Roofing arrived late on Monday morning, oblivious to the damage they'd caused. Once they saw the liability, they sent their crew in and tore out the ceilings and dry wall -- but without doing the proper testing first. Hence, they improperly disposed of Asbestos, contaminating the building and compounding the damage they caused. The water is in all the walls and multiple townhouses will have to be condemned and torn down to the studs. Homeowner's insurance won't pay because it was 619 Roofing's negligence that was at fault, and 619 Roofing's insurance has been dragging their feet more than 3 weeks, ghosting the families who are out-of-pocket thousands of dollars in expenses to avoid homelessness after the destruction caused by 619 Roofing's unprofessional and dangerous workmanship. Don't let the lack of website fool you! Eric and his team are great to work with! I hired Eric to inspect two properties I was looking to buy in the San Diego Area, and he came out on time, was very polite, and explained everything to me. On both houses, he presented an honest assessment of the underlayment and its useful life, explained how the concrete tile roof system works, and shared a very reasonable estimate for the proper maintenance required for each roof, and to replace the underlayment should it be needed. He charges to inspect roofs before a purchase of a home, but it is highly worth it, as he applies 1/2 of the fee toward work done with him and if you're like me, I'd rather spend a couple hundred dollars to learn that a house needs $30K of repairs BEFORE I have to write the check! Eric uses email billing and accepts all credit cards with no difficulty, unlike other vendors that require cash or other draconian payment methods. He answered his phone on a Saturday - try getting that out of most contractors!
