Avoid this place…read more They did an oil change and failed to properly reinstall the skid plate, which started dragging on the freeway less than 10 minutes after I left. This was clearly caused by their negligence and I had a kid in my car who was very scared. When I returned, instead of fixing their mistake, they claimed they had no availability and said they could repair it next week leaving me without any vehicle for the whole weekend. Breaking something during service and then asking the customer to wait for the whole weekend to fix it is beyond ridiculous. Completely unprofessional and irresponsible.

Browsed yelp and Autotek seemed worth checking out. Was set up pretty quick and brought my car in for an oil change. The spot is located in a quiet industrial lot across from a lawned public park, and coincidentally unbeknownst to me.. I had thought the lot looked familiar when I drove in because Autotek is neighbors with where I get my smog checks. I think my car has found its family . Got to meet Peter, the manager. He was very cool and cordial. He's got jokes too. Pricing is about what you'd find anywhere else nearby--the oil is good. Service was as clean and quick as expected of professionals. I was told the O2 sensor needed to be replaced. I checked the price for the senors which cost about $600+. Plus labor, I am looking at ~$800 or more for the repair. I contacted Terry Madsen at High Street Automotive through Yelp. Terry asked me to send the failed test report to him, and convinced me the sensor most likely are good. I just needed a proper drive to reset the sensors. I listened to him and drove the car follow the suggested driving pattern for ~40 miles. It passed! I most appreciated is the he offered his expert opinion without charge. Terry was not only just asked questions online. He went to extra miles ask me to send test report through email he gave to me during online exchange. It is rare nowadays.

I show him the picture I took of the brake line which looks intact and has no leaks, and he keeps insisting the thread is broken. Then in the middle of this his maintenance guy comes in and says he simply put the "bolt" back in and everything's good to go. Awkward. Then he's trying to get me to pay $190 to flush my brakes and says there's no way to know if theres a leak until my brakes get flushed. What??? Of course I don't do it and take my car to another more reputable shop to get the brakes checked just to make sure, and they tell me everything looks good. I can't say with certainty he was deliberately trying to scam me, but he's obviously giving tons of WRONG INFORMATION that could've cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars while banking on me not knowing much about cars. On top of all that - after looking at the invoice I see they charge a 4% CREDIT CARD PAYMENT fee but didn't mention a single word about it. Not only is 4% MORE than what they have to pay for their own processing but not properly disclosing it or giving me an option to pay with cash or debit seems to border on ILLEGAL according to state laws. SHADY.
