I bought a $30 for $15 deal online for 6th Ave Barbecue earlier this year, but the bonus promotional value expired at the end of July when they were closed for moving to their new location. I called and they said they would still honor it AND I could use it on their Thursday night all you can eat ribs, so my eldest son and I made our way to West Bend for dinner. I got the AYCE ribs, which comes with cornbread muffins, and mac and cheese and fries for the sides. My son got a two meat combo with brisket and smoked chicken for the meats and mac and cheese and fries for the sides. His also came with a cornbread muffin and we ordered cheese curds to start with. The cheese curds were awesome. The breading was sort of like what you sometimes find on chicken strips, so it had a nice crunch to it. I didn't love the parmesan sprinkled on top, but that's a minor issue. Both of us really liked the mac and cheese. It comes in a container like you'd pour gravy or coffee cream from, so unfortunately we didn't get a ton of it. I'd have no problem getting double mac and cheese next time if my meal comes with two sides. The fries were more like potato wedges. They were on the salty side, but had good flavor and were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside like potato wedges should be. The all you can eat ribs came with four cornbread muffins. Obviously they want you to fill up on those and not order more ribs. For what they were they were fine and pretty much down the middle in terms of moist versus dry. I'm not normally a brisket person, but the piece of his that I tried was impressive. I didn't think the smoked chicken had much smokiness to it and, being white meat, it was more dry than I prefer. The ribs were excellent. They fell off the bone and had just the right amount of bark on them. The BBQ sauce was both tangy and smoky, which I like. The food came out relatively fast and our server (I think it was Savannah?) was friendly and attentive. Maybe the move to a new location has and will improve on some of the issues other reviewers seemed to have had in the past. As for us, everything went smoothly and I'm looking forward to stopping again. read more

Not sure if they were understaffed but awful experience. Stopped here on a Sunday around dinner going through town back to Milwaukee. We were the only 4 people eating in the place, and about 4-5 people at the bar drinking. Took us 45 minutes to get our onion rings and only had 5 on the plate for $10. Made the mistake of ordering their Friday fish fry. Probably one of the worst fish fry I have ever had. Each filet was 90% breading and 10% fish and it was very overdone. Went to the Bar-b-que Pit restaurant today for lunch after reviewing menu online. There are no bar-b-que products at this location. Had mushroom and Swiss sandwich, was not at all good. Waiter screwed up and switched my order with my wife's. We asked for fries with no salt, but they came out gritty with what appeared to be extra salt. Waiter never checked to see how things were during the meal and I had to go to the bar to get the check. read more

Called "Pit" for a reason. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Very over priced for low quality food. They sat our group at a fold out table and the room was dirty, there were dead bugs under our table and the bathrooms were disgusting and un maintained. The service was so slow and the food came cold and dry. Their "soda" was flat and even the water had a weird taste. Money down the drain. Ughh! The brisket was not good. The Cole slaw was warm and tasted off. The corn bread was ok, but that's a low bar. The place is dark and not clean. Didn't have several of the smoked meats listed on the menu like the burnt ends. Highly recommended for day drinking and lousy food. Priced like it was good barbecue but it was not. Went here for our first time and service and food was horrible. Music was super loud at 5:00, drunks at the bar, people vaping inside. Cuban sandwich came to the table cold, cheese not even melted and the bun was rock hard. I asked the waitress if a basket of fries for $5.00 would feed 2 people and she said yes. Was in town visiting and heard this is a fairly new establishment that had good reviews and great pizza. Well , the pizza is pretty good with a cracker thin crust and good quality toppings ...........excellent sausage !!! The pizza itself deserves a 4 star!!! I called in the order this last Sunday night at about 5:30 and was told it would be ready by 6:30. Showed up at 6:20 and waited for two bartenders to get off their phone to acknowledge me as they were talking to friends. Once off the phone, they asked for my name and then 5 minutes later told me it will be about 15 minutes. OK. The place was NOT busy and had a group of 3 people sitting at the bar not drinking and possibly waiting for food and 2 other people at a table finishing eating. Not very busy at all. While whom I'm assuming was the cook running from the kitchen to the cooler for supplies, the two "bartenders" were on their phones the whole time and doing nothing to expedite things. Finally at 7:00 which was 1/2 hour past my pick up time, I told them if it isn't ready I would like a refund and cancel my order. One of them asked if I wanted a drink, no , just the damn pizza!!! 5 minutes later my pizza finally came out. Again , as I said earlier, the pizza was good, but had a hard time enjoying it because of inept help. The least they could have done is lie to me and tell me the oven broke or something or apologize for the wait, but that never happened. For a new business, I suggest a change in personnel or at least some common sense courtesy, especially with the reopening of restaurants and stiff competition. My husband is a foodie and especially a BBQ aficionado. We stopped at 6th Avenue Barbecue Pit and Bar and loved it. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Delicious! My husband ordered the smoked brisket and the pulled pork with a side of cole slaw and mac & cheese that we both shared. EVERYTHING was fantastic. Good drinks too. Cool setting. My sister and I had heard that this new establishment had very good pizza, similar to Dick's pizzeria, that we loved back in the day. When we arrived we were told to sit anywhere we'd like, we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. The server told us that they had just opened, late, due to a mechanical problem they had the night before. We chose a table and after she was done dealing with stocking the cash registers with money she came to take our order, no big deal, I completely understood she needed to get that done. We ordered a cup of soup and a pizza, asking to have the soup served before the pizza. She took our drink order and promptly served those. After about 10 mins I asked if we could get our cups of soup. I was informed that the cook was working on door dash orders first and when she was done with those, we could have our soup. I was also informed that they had alot of door dash orders and the kitchen was really busy. Nice. Customers physically in the restaurant have to wait for door dash orders to be completed first. 5 mins later she brought our soup, which was lukewarm. I didn't even bother her to take it back and warm it up. Finally our pizza arrived. It was good, but looked nothing like the pics on Yelp. It also isn't much like Dicks pizza, but is was very good, I loved the thin crust and the sausage was extremely flavorful. I want to mention our server was VERY nice and very attentive with the things she could be, checking our drinks, refilling them, etc. What was going on in the kitchen was beyond her control. As a humorous side note, before we got our pizza the door dash orders came out. The door dash driver asked to use the bathroom and was in there at least 15 mins. Some people were going to get pizzas that were lukewarm, just like our soup. Whatever the balance is for door dash/take out/ dining in orders, this place needs to find it and serve all their customers well. Our meal, with 2 cups of soup, a larger pizza and a soda, that was refilled 3 times at no extra cost, was only 25.00. I hope management takes their reviews seriously and works out the kinks because other than the long wait, this is a very nice place. read more
