We stopped in here during the Port Washington Fish Days. Atmosphere: Huge bar and seating area. They have tables and booths and a large outside patio area that does have giant umbrellas to sit under. Unisex bathrooms that were insanely clean and our table was clean too. Great views of Lake Michigan! I saw two entrances but I think there may be more, but one of the entrances was off the marina so easy access to get inside after boating. Service: Our waitress was super friendly and attentive even though she had a lot of tables. Appetizer was at the table within 10 minutes of ordering and our entrees came out 25 minutes after we finished with our app, great timing! Food: ORDER THE TEMPURA CAULIFLOWER. Seriously this is the best fried cauliflower I've ever had. SUPER crispy outside, seasoned really well, perfectly tender inside, huge pieces and small pieces and the dipping sauce is delicious (I think it's gochujang and rice wine vinegar). I seriously would drive all the way back here to get them. I will dream about them. The reuben was really good, corned beef had a ton of flavor, lots of cheese and kraut but definitely get it on the rye bread. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the flatbread/nan bread? they have for all their sandwiches is impossible to eat. The people at my table, and the two tables next to us all ended up eating it with a fork and knife because it just fell apart. My partner and I went on a day trip to Port Washington this weekend and stopped in Fork & Tap on a whim, and I'm so glad we did. We had a wonderful experience. As someone who doesn't drink much, I was very pleased to see a large mocktail menu. I went with the Peach No-Jito and it was delicious and loaded with mint (just how I like it). However, the glass wasn't very large and at $8, it seemed just slightly overpriced. I went with Grandma's Mac N' Cheese for an entrée and it was the perfect combination of silky cheese sauce with gooey melted cheese on top. The breadcrumbs added the perfect amount of toasty crunch to an otherwise melty, cheesy affair. My partner ordered the Thai Chicken Sandwich and reported that it was super yummy. The chicken itself was definitely Asian-inspired with just a hint of spice to liven things up. It was loaded with filling, but despite the skewer holding it together, promptly fell apart as he lifted it to take a bite. The sandwiches appear to be best consumed with a fork and knife. The fries though...I already want to go back just for those thin, crispy, potatoey delights. They were well seasoned and cooked to a perfect golden brown -- the hard-to-achieve crispiness right between too soft and too crunchy. Our server was great and the view from the patio was pleasant. Though we mostly looked out onto a busy parking lot, the marina just beyond it provided a nice backdrop. Next time I'm in Port Washington, I hope to stop by Fork & Tap again. read more

I have been to Fork & Tap a few times and have had great meals every time. I got the Alpine Valley which is similar to a traditional chicken salad. The bread is nontraditional, but really good! My friends enjoyed the Srg Peppers, and the OG. We opted to add fries and a dipping sauce to our orders, not fully realizing it was all an extra charge. Kind of penny pinching but the flavor was good. We did get the balsamic Brussels sprouts and this was the only thing we didn't love. They weren't crispy and just very saturated with the balsamic vinegar. Would definitely skip this in the future. read more

Went on a weekend afternoon, sat at the bar, and had excellent service. The place has a great view, and the menu is mostly different variations of chicken or beef with fun toppings. I could probably eat a plate on my own, but splitting one worked great as an app for two of us. There were multiple families with infants/small children when we got there, but it wasn't noisy at all, so it seems like a good place to meet with a bigger group. read more

I have mixed thoughts on Fork & Tap. The food is flavorful. We have enjoyed their fried mozzarella whips - reminiscent of a savory funnel cake (and named Wi Funnel cake). We have tried various chicken sandwiches and even the fish fry. While the items we have tried were tasty, they seemed priced a bit high. A side of fries or Brussel sprouts with your sandwich is an additional charge. On my fish fry, the tarter sauce was about one tablespoon- I asked for more, not realizing I'd be charged $1 for another tablespoon! It was a good sauce - reminded me of a tzatziki sauce. However, had I known the extra cost, I would have probably skipped the extra sauce. Staff is friendly, dog- friendly patio looking out at marina and lake is nice. They even have a menu of complimentary items for your pooch while you dine. I just wish the prices were more appropriate. read more

Wife's burger was cooked correct and very good. The sweet potato wedges were excellent. I was in the area doing business and this was our somewhat random pick. This was my first time here. I was greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant seemed busy, but there was plenty of seating. I had our seven month old pup (Chloe) with me, so we sat on the patio. To say this place is dog friendly is an understatement! They brought her a bowl of ice water, and they have their own dog menu. Chloe had a cup of pulled chicken. I had the Ruben Fries as an appetizer and the Spicy Jack as an entrée. This was way too much food; the portions are huge. Both were fantastic and I'd order them again. Six of us stopped in this afternoon on our way home from a girl's trip to Chicago. We were warmly welcomed and seated quickly. Many of the girls hadn't been to a "don't poke the hole" beer place before and had some questions. Our waitress was very kind and took the time to explain how the beer pour works and answered questions about the menu. Most of us had the wonderful smash burgers. One tried a chicken salad and one a chicken sandwich with a side of Brussels sprouts. All of us ate every bite and loved our meals. It was a very nice stop and we all said we would be back. I have been several times and have never been disappointed. It is a great place to stop in any season - warm and cozy in the winter, and beautiful views on the patio in summer and fall. We called ahead for a large party 2+ people on a competition weekend. They took our orders within a reasonable time. Our food was delicious. Our server was friendly and accurate. It's winter but there's a nice Lake view. Everyone received their order, nobody needed to reorder. Payments were taken promptly. We were out within 1.5 hours. I tried the Roasted Veggies and Quinoa which consisted of: Sauteed zucchini, cremini & button mushrooms, yellow squash, red & green peppers, tripe color quinoa, fried sweet potatoes, and chimichurri on a bed of fresh baby spinach. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. Gave me a few hours of substanance during my long afternoon. I also had the house salad with a side of their homemade ranch dressing. I use to love going to this restaurant but had a really bad experience with the Chef. My boss brought my team there for lunch mid November and 2 of our sandwhiches came out baconless. I realized it half way through that something was missing. When the waitress came back to our table we told her about it because my work mate also didn't have it on hers. The waitress came back and mentioned that the chef said we were lying and that he had the bacon in our sandwhiches. If he did then they disappeared on the way to our table. I work in customer service and there is no way I could ever accuse a paying customer that they are lying. The waitress lessened my bosses bill because of it, but I left feeling very unappreciated. For dinner for the O.G. (Pulled rotisserie chicken, bacon aioli, organic mixed greens, Bernie's bacon, oven roasted tomatoes & aged cheddar cheese). I also got an order of fries and a dipping sauce as a side. The sandwich looked a tad hard to eat but once I got into it, it wasn't bad. Tasted good but for me I think the jury is still out on the bread. To address some of the other reviews I read, yes everything looks to be ala cart so the sandwich, fries, and sauce were all separate. Depending on your appetite, I felt that I could have passed on the fries after the appetizer and sandwich. The restaurant is in a building with apartments or condos above it. There are balconies that sit above the patio. Not a big deal but for me a tad awkward, but that's probably because I've never experienced that type of setup before. Would I go back? Sure would. The service and food was good and I'd be interested in trying some of their other dishes. I'd probably pass on the sauces though, I wasn't a fan of the consistency of it and made for dipping difficult. read more

We went here for my birthday dinner and it was delicious and worth the wait. We ordered the pretzels and queso (they were all out of artichoke dip) and the Wisconsin funnel cake (mozzarella whips that are deep fried) and both were huge hits! I ordered the hipster over a bed of fries which is a fun option, you can order your sandwich either on bread or on fries! If you don't order the bed of fries the side will cost you extra. The hipster was great, the fries were a little oily for me, but generally very delicious. My sister got sweet potato fries and they were more like wedges and those were amazing! Very nice spot on the lake! They don't take reservations, so be sure to come early or be willing to wait (maybe stop at Duluth Trading like we did while you're killing some time!) read more

After my mom telling me several times she found a new favorite restaurant in Port, I insisted we go there on my most recent visit to town. Oh my goodness. The food was amazing! This is not your typical Wisconsin food (although they do offer a Friday fish fry if that's your thing). My mom said we had to get the brussel sprouts but the crab dip also caught my eyes. Maybe two appetizers is overkill for three people but I'm not sorry. Both of them were so good. The crab dip was mostly crab and had a great flavor. My brother ordered one of the chicken sandwiches and fries. I'll assume the sandwich was tasty because he ate all of it. My mom and I shared the sweet potato fries and flatbread.
