I don't think I have ever successfully purchased something from this store because (as in many other 711s) their credit card machines never work. Just walked away from a large purchase after the "tap, no swipe, no insert, no tap, no swipe" dance. I am not about to get a red flag on my cards. Parking lot, all the basic needs for a quick stop met here, and the staff attendant was cordial and helpful. Being open 24/7 is a blessing when you need something quick and no one else is open at 2am. And it's also something to appreciate when you can get all kinds of characters and people coming through the doors such as those under the influence or irate customers at all hours of the day and night. Really great service during the day but awful once the normal crew heads home. I come to this place pretty frequently, about two or three times a week and it's usually great. I especially like Milton, he always remembers napkins if I'm grabbing food and is just a nice guy in general. On multiple occasions, I have went after midnight to grab some snacks and I have never been let in. I don't know his name since he refuses to open the door to anyone, but he's a black dude with blonde highlighted dreads. I knock on the door and he pretends to not hear me. Everything says it's 24 hours but this dude would rather just sit in the middle of the store and take inventory. Get rid of this dude or change the info to not 24 hours anymore. Or better yet, tell the night staff to at least explain to people waiting outside the store that it's not open or they're busy with other stuff. It's disrespectful to pretend to not even acknowledge me. Today I went in at 4:30 am and there was a sign on the door that said closed for cleaning and would be open again in 45 minutes but did not specify a time of when the cleaning would start/stop, leaving no idea of when it would be open again. I'm getting the impression that this regularly happens and lasts far longer than 45 minutes. read more

This 7-Eleven has been opened for around four years, it is situated where Clybourn and Southport meet. The way this 7-Eleven was built there is a tiny parking lot that can be entered from both streets, be sure to look carefully when entering the lot. The area around the store can become very congested because it is directly across from, Chase Bank, Barnes and Noble, and Regal Webster Place 11. The store itself appears large, very clean, shiny and brightly lite. A lot of care was taken into designing this location, the aisles are not crowded together, but wide and roomy. The ATM is strategically located away from the door and the flow of people. The prepared food is closer to the entrance of the store, while groceries and alcohol are located further into the store. This 7-Eleven is well stock with all the items they carry. The self-service coffee, soft drinks, and Slurpee area is always impeccably clean, there are no puddles, remnants of straws, or sticky floors around. This 7-Eleven looks as good as it did when it first opened! The employees in this store are all fantastic and very hard-working. I always feel safe at this location, no matter what time of day I am there. There are no unusual people lingering around this store. I am giving this 7-Eleven 5 stars. read more

Extremely dishonest 7-11. They will cheat you out of your money. I went in to get a slushee, just wanted a small one and wouldn't have minded paying for one either, but I was charged with a medium slushee because of the promotion (1 free slushee day with a registered account) that would've granted me a free slushee even though I would've just paid for it. When I pointed out that it was a small slushee (after entering account details) the cashier pretty much said to just pay him. I should have insisted that it was a small and not a medium, but I didn't want to make a scene. So I just paid. The difference in price is pretty negligible in price (between small/medium/and even free), yet the dishonesty is astounding. I will never return and advise you not to go here either in case you're put in the same situation. read more

Nobody was at the counter when I walked in....a little creepy since I was the only person in the place. ATM worked without a problem. They have your run of the mill drinks, sandwiches, chips, and candy. Convenient location to get cash for the Metra. As I approached the counter an employee ran out and said something that made me think he had just been watching me walk around on a camera in the back room. Weird. read more

I wrote a previous negative review about this store due to a bad experience with an employee's customer service. The owners at the 7-Eleven went out of their way to thank me for my feedback and I would shop here again. Not only did the owners give me a personal phone call, after filling out a comment form on the 7-Eleven website, but also a personal card in the mail and a gift card and apologized for the experience I had and a thank you for my feedback. Beware of the older man who works there now (seems like he just started because I haven't seen him work there in the last year). He is trying to steal your money and over charge you. He will ring everything up under "cash" even though you have your card ready in the chip reader ready to pay. He will then say "no do you have cash" when we say no says "get cash out and pay use it to pay for this." He then argues with us and eventually will return the cash transactions and re ring us up using the card. He's trying to trick drunk people and skim money. This is the third time in a week he's done this to me. Last night he said buy one water and get one free, but he rang us up for two waters and made us pay for two. I love every other worker at this 7/11. Every time I see him I know I'm going to have to argue with him. I tell him before we don't have cash and are paying card and he ALWAYS rings us up for cash. read more
