Intentionally over pricing items to make up for whatever is insane,the workers are always miserable. So this all tracks. Anyways,last week I bought a yogurt cup for myself and when i went to open it the next day,right under the granola seperater is a huge layer of mold.. MOLD. They're playing with the day date stickers to sell old items. I called corporate,and got nothing. Not a single one of these incompetent workers had an answer for a refund or going to check all their other items to make sure there wasn't contamination of any kind.. nobody did anything. Today I paid $46 for 10 intentionally overpriced items and your cashier had an attitude. I go to ask for a supervisor and this dry crusty mouth dark haired kid with bangs named Miguel says he's the supervisor and yet he zero answers on why these prices were the way they were. My best recommendation is to Stick to Rico's on armitage. Tony's BEEN declining for the last 15years. read more

Frequently Overcharged!!! On several visits when shopping here I don't receive the price marked for sale. Also, when I use the "Tony's Reward" the price is usually incorrect. I visited Tony's Fresh Market because Upside, a cash back application offered an 11% cash back offer on grocery purchases. Since having redeemed cash back offers from the Irving Park location a handful of times, I have had the desire to visit Tony's locations more in order to redeem on some of my regular grocery purchases. As for this visit, I had no issues finding a parking spot for my vehicle. I ended up driving to the backside of Tony's where I found open spots, which were not as tight knit as others near the entrance. From what I have noticed, parking lots at Tony's locations seem very compact in comparison to other grocery stores. Inside, the atmosphere felt very relaxed with a neighborhood grocery store vibe. I could not help but enjoy the music being played in the background which added a comforting vibe. One in particular was 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim' by Jim Croce, a song that brings back many memories for sure. Moreover, I must say that it was a break shopping here versus a Jewel-Osco, Pete's Fresh Market, or Mariano's. Along with the items shelved being organized, the market is acceptably clean, but the aisles on the other hand felt snug as far as space in-between. I found myself having to pin my back against the shelves to allow others to pass by. One of the items on my shopping list were Cliff Bars, which I ended up opting out of purchasing and settling for Belvita Breakfast Bars due to the unbearable price. Along with the price being cheaper, I also noticed that the calorie amount per serving was just as much as the Cliff Bars. While looking around, I took a liking to a few other items like Lotus Foods Organic Jade Pearl Rice, Stubb's Bar-B-Q Sauce, and a 6 Carton of Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice which will be right up my alley in the future. With this Tony's Fresh Market being the closest to me, I am quite positive that I will re-visit again when in need of some of my regular grocery purchases. Don't even bother wasting your time with this store. They have no understanding of customer service and there is extreme mismanagement. On multiple occasions the prices listed on the shelves did not match the prices when checking out. It's a scam. On more than one occasion I have bought produce from here which was moldy and I had to throw it in the garbage right away. Associates are unhelpful, they don't have any baskets and everybody has to get a dirty cart which gets stuck in the aisles because there's not enough space Nobody at the meat counter speaks English so good luck getting anything from there and the meat stocked in refrigerator is old, leaking and not appropriately portioned. Their bags break down if you put anything in it that is heavier than a pound. The store is gross overall and can use some cleaning. If I could leave zero stars I would. Today I went to purchase baby formula for my 10 month old whom was being watched by a trusted neighbor. The baby formula was locked up (which is typical these days) I went to customer service to let them know I needed formula. The young lady at self checkout asked me which one I needed and I told her the Similac Total Comfort. She asked the lady in the customer service booth for the key , who then fumbled around through keys for about 3 minutes then held up a can of formula and said was that the one I needed in which I stated no because it was the regular formulation. The younger lady then asked me where there some over in the case in which I stated yes, I saw 4 cans. Another associate then came over and then they all started speaking Spanish (which is not the issues) but nothing was resolved. They disbanded and stood there clueless as to whom was going to assist me with getting the baby formula. I then asked the young lady was someone going to help me with the formula, she stated yes but never elaborated who or when. More time passed and still nothing, I asked how much longer it would be because I had to pickup my baby, she turned to the lady in the customer service booth and they whispered about something and then turned back to me and said she's coming. NEVER specified who so I'm assuming the older woman who had come over earlier but was now at the only open checkout lane bagging groceries, and clearly was going to keep bagging until the line was down. I eventually left the store. This seems to be a normal thing for this particular location. Their customer service is piss poor to say the least and I will not be shopping here anymore. read more

Hello Do you know it's illegal to have consistently inaccurate pricing. Even prices in their weekly ads don't scan correctly. Anyone there actually do their jobs correctly? When I bring the inaccuracies to the checkout staff,(every time I shop) they change the price and move on. In other words it will still ring up incorrectly in the stores favor. A decent employee who does more than the bare minimum would make managers aware of inaccurate pricing. Shocker, they don't care. Only go here if what you want to purchase has a coupon or some kind of savings. I'm not even sure how or why but management prices common goods 25% higher than their actual value. I order 46 pieces of chicken for a Christmas part. I ordered it and paid for it on line. When I went to pickup they had know ideal what I was talking about, showed the the receipt they don't know what to do! So they start taking the chicken that's out under the heat lamps to fill the order this is all happening at 10:15 am. I live within walking distance to Tony's so I go there often, especially when I just need to pick up a few things. The parking lot can get a little crazy and crowded, but I've still never had an issue finding a parking spot when I've driven there. I love to get the pre-cut produce (mangos, pineapples, etc.) because it's always fresh and delicious. I've never been disappointed by it like I have at other grocery stores. The produce section is well-stocked with fresh items, and the rest of the store has everything I need, even though it's somewhat small. They always have almost everything in stock, even at times when the bigger grocery stores like Mariano's have lots of empty shelves. Also, I'm a vegetarian and they have good veggie options like fake deli meat and veggie burgers. The employees are also very helpful. I went to the store today to exchange some coins for cash, and the coin counting machine was not working. A very kind employee helped get it back up and running quickly. read more

HORRIBLE customer service and management. Self check is a nightmare. Workers do not want to help you. There are never enough workers at the checkouts. Don't expect to get out if there quickly if you're in a hurry....and don't expect anyone working in the place to care that you're even there. Went to Tony's on a Tuesday evening for a few grocery items with a friend. I asked the man who appeared to be the store manager, Teaghan, for help finding something. When I asked him to help, he looked at me and walked away. I repeated my question and he appeared bothered that I asked him to find certain items (I don't frequent Tony's as I regularly hear that the service to customers is awful and that they treat their employees terribly). In addition to being rude to myself, he was also yelling at his employees and saying some racially inappropriate things to some individuals (in public in a harsh voice). This is never ok and it's really disappointing to see that someone would take advantage of their position at the store to belittle customers and employees. read more

This place is organized, clean, great prices and a wonderful selection. Topo is 8.99 a case, best price I have seen, so far. Produce is lovely. The Latin /Caribbean produce selection is staggering. There are some plant based items but mostly mass produced proteins (not animal friendly). Hope that changes. Tony's Fresh Market is one of the best grocery store that you can find nearby and is really convenient. They have a clean environment and their carts are also always clean. All of the products are well organized and they have everything you need in a daily basis. They have a huge meat and seafood section, fresh veggies and fruits, huge salad bar and huge hot bar that is amazing because all are fresh and in a good condition. They also offer cakes and various baked products for any celebration. They also have pet supplies which is great for people who have pets. All in all it is the best and it also have great prizes. Tony's Fresh Market is this one place which I can not live without. Being there almost every other day and knowing everyone who works there I feel like I am at home. read more

I just moved back into the City from Joliet. I loved the new Tony's in Joliet! The meat was always the freshest! So naturally moving back into the city I wanted to find a new Tony's to shop at! This one ended up being close to my job so I thought I'd give it a shot! Horrible idea! I won't be returning! I get to the register & it's two people in front of me both Hispanic. The cashier rings them up no conversations , no questions asked! Then comes my turn! As soon as I get to the register the cashier proceeds to ask me "WILL YOU BE USING EBT"? Excellent prices . This store has everything you need , even has pet supplies. I like getting my fresh vegetables and fruits from here . Meats and produce They even have Roses , carnations and cakes for birthdays and any other occasions . One last update. I'm done with Tony's. At the start of the pandemic, prices were going up (which was understandable but to a degree) and quality was tanking. Employees were surly. Parking is always awful. Not wanting to navigate super tight aisles, I switched to Instacart to shop here. Prices have soared there since then, anywhere from an additional few dollars to twice the price of in-store. Instacart claims the stores set the pricing so it seems Tony's is out to price gouge. Recently being back in Chicago, I honestly forgot how amazing Tony's is. Negative (let's get it out the way first): Parking. Parking has and forever will be (probably) an issue. I mean, it works but you got to be extremely careful about it (both cars and people). Also, turning left out of the parking lot on Fullerton is always a hassle. To fix this, whenever I do go grocery shopping, found that evenings work best! Now - let me rave about Tony's. I was born and raised in the area. I grew up with my mom getting the fresh french bread from this store now - childhood memories. For almost 30 years of my life, this place has been reliable. Considering all COVID-related situation, when I went last night, the meat was fresh and prices were decent. I was surprised actually. To see the changes in this store as the area changes is interesting as well. How they still manage to have affordable prices - no idea but I'm not going to complain one bit. I love that they still cater to their Latinx community (hello!) yet incorporate the changing needs/wants of the changing area as well. I love a good store that offers products from various places in Central, South America, and Mexico. Their international products are priced very well and usually have multiples for a specific type of product. Overall I am a big fan of the products they sell but would suggest you purchase your fruits/veggies here. Fruits and veggies are priced relative to other grocery stores in the neighborhood, and the selections tend to be very fresh. I would not purchase 'big-brand' (Kraft, Mars, etc.) items here as they tend to be more expensive than at other grocery stores. Their selection of vegan and 'healthy' items is pretty good for the neighborhood, but the prices are very inflated as well. If I were to rate this store on convenience alone, it would be 5 stars. We live down the street, so it's our go to store in a pinch. That said, when people come over, they always comment about how convenient it must be to have a grocery store so close to home and we typically rebuff them because unless it's a last minute item, we're not really shopping here that often. We find ourselves going to Cermak Produce, Aldi, Trader Joe's, Fresh Time and Whole Foods more frequently that Tony's. The store is smaller than the other Tony's locations, probably because it's the first and land locked. That results in the selection of some items being limited; for example there's no hot bar or salad bar for quick grab and go items like many other grocery stores. They've definitely made efforts to incorporate more vegetarian/vegan and organic items in the store; there's not a huge selection, but kudos for offering it. The quality of items can be hit and miss. Most times it's good, but a few times I've gotten things that were a little dodgy; like moldy cheese. I think my biggest annoyance with the store is the lines. I don't think I've been in more than once or twice where there have been more than 3 lanes open. I almost always see the express line trail down the grocery aisle and not feel express at all. As others have said, the parking lot is vicious. I'm glad it's walkable because between people angling for spots and trucks fighting for space to unload; I'm kind of shocked I haven't seen an accident or two. Bottom line: Maybe we've become snobby about our food and its sourcing, but I'm rating this store fine. read more

I visit this location here and there due to their close proximity to my apartment and reasonable prices. The "rumors" about the parking lot being small, is very true. The small parking lot is normally not an issue for me because I typically grocery shop at weird times, but be prepared to possibly circle a little if you come at a prime time. In my opinion, the produce section is the highlight of the store. They have practically every vegetable or fruit you could ever need. There is even a few organic fruits and vegetables, but not as much as you may find at a Marianos or Whole Foods of course. The meat section is pretty large in regards to both items behind the butcher counter and pre-packaged. The store has a dry goods section for organic/healthier food options such as vitamins, cereals, snacks, etc. The interior of the store could use a little freshening up, but is normally clean. read more

Tony's Finer Foods is growing on me! It's so nice to have a grocery within walking distance for those lean times between big shopping trips, or when you can't get Pork Tenderloin at Strack &VT. Yup! The Meat Counter is extensive, and the worker called my number "Ochenta y Ocho" in Spanish and quickly restated in English once he saw me. Ha! I know my numbers, gracias! He seemed less thrilled that I had to ask for the Tenderloin in English, and that it was in the Packaged Meats cooler. A quick "Gracias!" from me fell on deaf Orejas! The produce is noticeably fresher than S&VT, and here's a tip: there's this green called "Epazote" and it's the secret to good Tortilla Soup! Throw the whole bunch in there, uncut, and take it out before serving. That tip is Nachos "Gold", baby! I was kind of in a rush, picking up the ten items on my list. And found that I was the only one in the store in a rush, as a Sunday afternoon at Tony's is all about chatting on the phone, pausing in the aisles mid-thought, or turning on your heel and bumping into the person behind you (me!). I paused, recognized and actually relished the cultural differences at Tony's. Perhaps it's just what my Sunday needed afterall! Now, if I could only have found the bread aisle, which I could not with two complete sweeps of the store, I could bump you up to one of my Five Star Babies! read more

This place reminds me of Food-4-Less or Fairplay. The area around it is kind of sketchy and honestly, I've driven past it multiple times not knowing it was a grocery store. It has a limited Asian aisle and the items aren't what you typically find in a Dominick's or a Jewel. If you're in a bind, I guess you can come here. But I'd rather drive a bit more for some higher quality meat and produce. read more

Since I don't work in the suburbs anymore where I had access to grocery stores like Ultra or Super Wal Mart, grocery shopping in the city was a 3 store ordeal. And then one day I was driving west on Fullerton and passed Tony's Finer Foods--I always got their flyers in the mail and glanced at them, but never considered shopping there. I decided to check it out and was glad I did. I loaded up on name brand groceries and the produce section was heavenly. i even came in under budget too. Sure, the place was a little crowded, yeah there were a lot of attitudey mamas and their bad ass kids AND a lot of the employees didn't speak English--but hey, I can act stank too AND speak Spanish, so it all evened out. I live about 25 miles from Tony's Finer Foods but had the chance to go their with my son who just moved around the block from Tony's. I found the store very well laid out with a terrific produce selection. Tony's carries a lot of ethnic foods, primarily Latin but others as well. But, I have to say that some of the produce they had out I was not at all familiar with. It was very exciting. If you are a regular at the larger Chicago grocers like Jewel, their deli is a little lacking. I needed to get some cole slaw and there was only one choice - it was prepackaged and not very good. But, I suppose that is not what you would go to Tony's for anyway. Overall, they do have great selections. Pricing is very good for inside the city limits. Yes, the parking lot is horrible, but it's tolerable. If you can't handle it, I always see street parking available. I'm here about once a week for lemon juice and meat. I usually pick out a beef roast or a pork butt to slow cook for meals for the week. Great prices and we've been pleased with the quality. I even picked up a bag of chicken quarters for about $3.50 that is lasting forever. They have a small organic produce section as well, though I seldom buy produce here. So today was my first time going to Tony's Fresh Market and my experience coming into the store was great but the cashier ruined everything. As I'm standing in line she was being very friendly to the gentleman in front of me who happened to be non African American but also a minority, she was very nice and I'm thinking man not only is it a great lay out of the store the customer service is probably going to be great too but I was completely wrong. She started to ring out my items I didn't get a hello sir how you doing nothing of that nature but what I did get was your paying with link right? At this point I'm confused because when you go to a grocery store and I've been to quite a few the cashiers don't just say that, they say something like are you paying with cash or card real simple! Didn't hear her assume that with the minority in front of me who happened to not be African-American but when she got to me that was the assumption! I then asked her why would you assume that I was paying with a link card and her response was people pay with link. Great neighborhood grocery store. The parking lot is a pain, but I park along the south end or on the street where the narrow aisles aren't an issue. The produce and deli are good. They have a nice selection of organic and natural foods including meat and frozen foods. You will walk out of Tony's with six bags of groceries for the price of one bag from Whole Foods. read more

Let me start by saying: take a quarter. You will need it to unlock a shopping cart, Really wish I had known this on my initial pilgrimage. I was prepared when I went back and the shopping went much more smoothly. I like to "pay it forward" and let someone have my cart for free when I'm done. Putting a quarter in the karma bank, so to speak. I really like this market. It has a great selection of produce and a lot of Mexican produce imports (like plantains and tomatillos). Fabulous prices. It's in a Latino community and therefore caters to this community and I love it! I have been looking for a good ethnic grocery store. You can find amazing fresh made salsas, seasoned meats (so good, all of them), and a lot of organic choices throughout. And as someone who adores hot sauces I felt like I found a little slice of heaven with the selection. Some of these will make you cry like a small child, so choose wisely. The store is big and you should be able to find everything you need (I don't find many one-stop grocery shop stores these days). Tony's has President Brie. Pretty amazing for a 'hood' grocery store. They also have goat cheese. Another star. Then the third star comes from their Asian food selection, they have the Thai iced tea that I can no longer find at Pete's (damn, damn, damn). Fourth star comes from the meat and deli counter. People lined up for days so I had to skip it but that selection was pretty damn good. Fifth star for Sabra Hummus. The parking lot is a nightmare. If you find a spot take it, no matter where it is, oh, there is another little parking lot on the south side of the store but you cannot see it from Fullerton.
