Don't go here, they are RACIST! As per usual my uncle went there to do groceries. After he was done paying, he was stopped and searched for no reason other than the color of his skin. I had actually witnessed this being done to another man a few weeks ago and he was also dark skinned. I tried talking to Ruben the manager about transpired today and he was full of excuses. He alleged when people buy big ticket items they are usually stopped and asked for proof of purchase. This was not the case, it was just a few grocery items. My uncle was asked not only to show proof of purchase but to empty out everything. It was embarrasing and degrading. This is how they treat latino and dark skinned people. Don't go here. Cermak has been our preferred grocery store for produce for over a decade. We used to go to the one on Kedzie but moved down the street from this one 5 years ago, and this one is way better! The produce section is always well stocked and organized. They have a solid selection of cheese as well. One thing I'll say is that the parking lot out front is always a nightmare, but there is a free parking garage that always seems empty so idk if people just don't know about it or not, but I definitely recommend taking advantage of it esp if its raining/snowing. read more

Bought this carton of raspberries yesterday...for 5 freaking dollars...and opened them today to find them full of mold. Overpriced and poor quality. Yes they are organic but $5 for a tiny carton is insane...especially when you can't even eat any of it. Great new find with attached garage. I usually hit a the one on North which 1/4 of this size. Super clean market. Will definitely shop at this one more. Able to do all grocery shopping for the week. They have everything. Good clean store. Management is friendly and able to handle my price adjustment. Plus that you can enjoy right in the store: Gelato, Soup, Tacos, PR food, Salad Bar, Fresh Squeeze Juice. Con: Only negative is mainstream products are slightly more than latin based products. I will begin here, I have gone passed this location several times during my travels to and from Logan Square. I decided to stop before my last stop at Binnys. I will say I wasn't disappointed. Very spacious and clean location. Aisles are fully stocked with a wide range of products. Great pricing, depending on what you are looking for. Customer service is top notch very friendly staff and approachable. I am not sure why I never stopped in before, when I am in the area I am definitely making it my go to stop. read more

this is the closest grocery store to me and despite the convenience, I refuse to go to this place anymore. Such a great produce selection, too bad it's a total gamble on what is good or not. Anything that is in a container will have rotted produce underneath fresh produce so stay away from the lettuce or any small fruit like raspberries. They don't put prices on their deli or bakery items. They are really horrible about putting prices on things in general. The lines are ALWAYS way way too long. Don't go here unless you are ready to stand in line for 15 minutes. I went here for years and finally I got to a point where the selection isn't great and the service is so bad that I'd rather spend 15 minutes driving to a better grocery store then waste time and bring home rotten, over prices produce. The MEAT, always the meat, is literally bad...the second you get home from the store. Every time! I have gotten sick more than once, cooking ground beef or other meats on the same day that I purchased it (and yes I cooked it throughly). Please avoid all meat products here, they do not get it sourced from a good source; instead it is C or D quality meat. Think of ground beef that they will package for you looking pink, and then two hours later, the ground beef will be grey and smelling kinda off. The chicken is also chunky and weird texture, and even the boneless thighs had a few renegade bones in there. Seriously though - go to Jewel or Aldi or even the local bodega for your meat products. After coming here at least 6-10 times, I will no longer get meat here. If you are going to sell bad meat from over the counter, please at least sell it for $1 or less a pound, and let people take the risk if they are going to get sick or not. I've literally thrown away at least $100-150 worth of meat that is NO GOOD, and CAN GET YOU SICK. If you are looking for canned goods, Mexican or Polish stuff, this is the spot for that. read more

Great prices and everyone's friendly. Tons of fresh fruit and vegetables, and so many international foods! In Texas you'd have to go to 3 international grocers to find all the stuff Cermak has. I love this location,I buy there my veggies , meats , coffee , cheese , etc I try their home made food / ready . Chile rellenos taste really bad, the rice was uncooked and beans to salty . The Carnitas also very salty , so disappointed, I paid $18.00 for that and I end up throwing it away . Their chicken it's pretty good . read more

Cermak Fresh Market is a great addition to the Logan Square neighborhood. It definitely brings a much needed grocery store to the area that doesn't have the Walmart/Target feel. Finally, a grocery store that focuses on food. An added bonus here is that multiple nationalities are represented in the items sold. Aside from the given American food ingredients, that Taco Tuesday dream can be a reality as Mexican food items are represented, along with the wonderful world of Asian foods and Jamaican food items. They also have a wonderful section containing cooked meals for those lazy nights when you don't feel like cooking dinner. Oh and their bakery section!! Everything looks amazing from their enormous donuts, mini cakes, cupcakes, etc. They also have plenty of parking available, one right outside the store, and if that gets filled up, they have their own multi level parking garage. They don't have much of a liquor section as it only contains wines, but having a Binny's right across the street definitely helps out! read more

My husband and I are downright obsessed with this grocery store, and we've happily added it to our weekly rotation along with Target and Whole Foods. So what does Cermak Fresh Market add to the mix? AMAZING produce with amazing prices. My first time here, I felt like a kid in a candy store. They have every fruit and vegetable imaginable, and all in the brightest colors on eye-popping displays. We found tomatillos, jicama, bean sprouts and all kinds of other hard-to-find produce. Lemons and limes are frequently 10/$1 compared to the $1/each prices elsewhere. And all around in the produce section, prices still have me shouting to my husband, "is this real?!" Another great thing about this store: the Mexican food items. I've never seen a bigger display of Supremo products, and same with all the other Mexican dairy varieties, from the sour cream to the cheese. Looking for a particular flavor of Jarritos? I bet they have it here. And the candy aisle takes my husband straight back to his childhood! But warning: this isn't the place to shop for other grocery items. Bread and pantry items are consistently double the price of my normal grocery stores (Whole Foods included!) and El Milagro tortillas were 4x the prices I usually pay at Target. That produce though? I by chance went into Cermak Fresh Market for the first time and it will definitely not be the last. First off it started with easy available parking then the store itself is so clean, well lit, the best produce and fruits available anywhere. The meats, cheese, homemade foods, wide assortment of everything that you could want are there, fresh and so reasonably priced. Ready made meals, great wine selection, available live people to check you out not some self checkout kiosks all made it the most amazing experience. Lastly, the people who work here are an absolute joy who love where they work and are incredibly helpful. It reminds me of Marianos before they sold out to Kroger and went down the tube. Wow, did I really just walk into a "Cermak Fresh Market?" I've been to other Cermak locations throughout the city, but this Cermak is, hands down, the most luxurious one. Perhaps it's all new, and competition between supermarkets in the city is stiff. This CFM definitely has kicked up a notch to attract residents at this neighborhood. So...what are cool in this new CFM? - large aisles at their fresh produce department: with that being said, carts don't need to play the "dodge game" with one another. - additional parking spaces are available on the second floor - this location features a "gelato bar," a "hot food department," and a section for freshly-made, crispy chicharrones. - a trendy and modern outdoor dining patio for patrons and their employees However, I wouldn't purchase processed food items at Cermak due to their high prices. I happened upon this place on my way home when I was in need of some lettuce. Holy smokes was I impressed! The produce section is a thing of art. Beautifully organized and stocked. The quality is the best I've seen in the city. For the packaged food section- of items that are not often found in other stores. ENFORCING MASKS?NO!!! I've been coming to this market 4 days a week for the last month. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME there's always 2-3 employees not wearing masks. I tell them EVERY SINGLE TIME. But this time, I saw the manager or the blonde woman who was called over to my register for approval on something. Didn't even have a mask on her... at all! One time a customer told me to "fuck off" twice (with the fingers and verbally) and I told management. They did NOTHING. I will never return here! At times it looks like the store is fake because the staff constantly are working the isles keeping product either stocked or lined up. Customer service needs some work. Also they need to be more diverse. Every employee is Hispanic. I maybe saw one Caucasian woman in the hot food and one Caucasian guy doing cleaning.I understand it's a culturally specific store but still realize it's 2018. Nevertheless they are fairly friendly unless you get a snobby young girl checking you out. They have digital tags for their price tags which I find technologically cool and a good variety of grocery products. Store is fairly new so it's still pretty clean. Prices have gone up but I don't go there for groceries any more. I only go for their sliced pizza and hot food items. When I tell you their sliced pizza is humongous..it's an understatement. It literally is like a triangle that is bigger than both of your hands and definitely worth 2.99 per slice. I basically was racially profiled by the manager. I was picking up an order, apparently, they don't usually get black people at this market. My order was prepaid but missing an item. I was letting security know that I saw the item I was missing and was going to get it but was leaving my cart upfront. The manager (or he appeared to be the manager) came up and began quizzing me about my cart, who gave me the cart, why did I open the bags, what was the name and phone number. I then needed to sign in online on my phone to prove this was my order. The whole reason I prepaid for pick-up was so I would not have to spend a lot of time in the store. I drove 20 minutes and passed a closer store because of the selection of items and the online ordering but the poor treatment/customer service from MANAGEMENT it's a no for me... it's not 1960 anymore. DO NOT ever ask to get a cake done at the bakery. They have nice ones on the glass but they made my cake totally wrong. I had no doubt in my mind that they'd do nothing but an outstanding job but they did what I asked them not to do on the very center of my cake which I asked for 2 weeks in advance. They were very positive about it and acted like it was nothing to them, ok cool. Other places would've gladly done my cake but I was waiting on emails back and I didn't have time. So the day I pick up my cake the young lady tries to hand it over to me without even showing it to me first, which I did not want any surprises at home! So I asked her to open it. The put a huge Spider-Man head in the center that I specifically did not want on there because I bought all of my own cake toppers off amazon and I told them to bring out the list of instructions on there and it said to NOT add any cake topper... the young lady was super confused but was there the day I ordered my cake and I told her she knew I did not want that, even agreed.. I did not have any time and I had to take my cake with a weird spot in the middle. Just Terrible. The black designs were super runny as well even though I like a couple blocks and kept cool... I would not recommend asking them for a cake no matter how nice the ones by the glass look. BTW, 2 of my guest told me the cake did not taste good. We've been coming here since they opened the store. I've never had a bad experience here and have had really great conversations with the people that work here. The little restaurant that they have there is always great for some food when you are in a hurry to get food on the table or even if you want to eat there. The tacos are amazing! We always get the tacos when we get food from there. They also have a gelato bar that is really good too! The prices are comparable to other grocery stores in the city and being in the old Marshall Fields building, there is plenty of parking on both the outside and inside. read more

There are two things though: when going into the women's restroom, the entire floor is clear and reflective and you can literally see the next lady next to you peeing.... They really need to replace the flooring. Another thing, the parking garage requires to validate when parking but as you exit, they don't require anything-- the gate automatically opens. The fresh produce here is excellent. This is the place in my neighborhood that I come to for cheap, fresh produce. Their sales are great and they have a pretty wide variety of produce available. I wish they sold more rhubarb but that's neither here nor there. I'll bring it up with the customer service team. I've been coming here since it opened and I've always enjoyed the store. I would say that regular grocery items like milk, cheese, canned goods, chips, cookies, etc. are WAY more expensive here than at, say, Aldi, so I'd buy them elsewhere. However, they have a great selection of things like dried beans, spices, and fresh meat that are inexpensive and really good. I come here to buy staple items like minced garlic, spices, and chicken that I end up freezing to use for a month. Their roasted chickens are also really good and a great value at $5.99. The meat is delicious and you can use the rest to make stock or other meals throughout the week. Their customer service team is really responsive. I asked if they would ever consider stocking vegan butter in their small vegetarian/vegan section and I was told "we'll look into it" but it was there like two weeks later! Same thing with Halo Top ice cream... I suggested it (as I'm sure other people did) and it was there a few weeks later. Good job! The parking lot always seems full but I've never had to park in the garage so it's fine. The only mildly annoying thing: there's no cart corral in the parking lot so you have to walk back to the entrance to leave the cart. This, of course, means that a lot of customers will just leave carts all over the parking lot because they're too lazy to walk the 30 seconds back to the door so watch out for unattended carts. read more

Shopped here almost exclusively and will no longer after yesterday. Yesterday was the fifth (5th) time that I purchased a cut of meat, brought it home, opened immediately after purchase to freeze, and it was already expired and smelled rancid. FIFTH TIME. I'm certain that they repackage expiring meat with a later expiration date to cut costs. I've experienced this with chicken thighs, skirt steak twice, flank steak, and now a cut of beef chuck. The money I save on their lower prices is not worth it when I have to go back out to jewel or Mariano's and buy a new pack of meat every time I shop here. I love to support smaller stores and local chains, but I will be taking my support to a different store now that cares about customers and is not willing to serve rancid meat to save a few bucks. read more
