I used the credit card machine to make a late night purchase a few weeks ago. An hour & a half later-my B of A prepaid debit card account issued by th state of CA had been completely wiped out. I truly believe there was a device on the credit card machine accessing my information on the card I used. Take heed. I reported the incident to the owner. He claims he runs a report on his computer at the store to find out if there is in fact a device on his two credit card machines. Didn't buy it. He's nice but I had read negative comments in the past about customers being overcharged on their debit cards w/ erroneous charges/purchases & cash advances. I just moved to Duarte and I wanted to be a regular customer at this 7-Eleven because I live across the street. However, after today I will never go back again. I got the things I wanted and my total was $25.68. The fat Indian piece of shit tried to scam. He had three kind of chocolates sandwiches that were best buy 10/30/20 and today is 10/31/20. He told me you are my friend and I will give you all free if you buy one of each. I was like okay I guess. Well this fucker scan one of each but he entered a number 7 or 6 for each of them. My total went from $25.68 to $46. I was like wait a minute you are charging me for each one of them. He was like no friend only one and all the rest free. Each one cost $1.29. I had to forced him to remove them because he kept telling me to insert my card. He finally removed them and when I inserted my card for the things I only wanted this piece of shit scan two of those chocolates sandwiches and charged my card $29. There's a new owner! He is great, he even wears a sport coat while he's there. You can tell he really cares about his business. He has the screens to enter your number and get your rewards now. As far as 7-11's go this one is great now! He always has stuff stocked up and greets people as they walk in. He makes casual conversation with people and is super friendly. I stopped coming to this 711 because it always smelled bad in there like straight up ass, i never understood why the employee's there were allowed to cook or be around the food with that smell GROSS!!!!! About 2 or 3 days ago i went to see if they carried some new chips a friend had recommend and WOOOW the store was amazingly clean, in 3 years NOT once did they greet me as i entered the store and boy was i shook when a young lady came somewhere from the beer section putting whatever she was doing aside just to smile and welcome us it was something so simply but yet so meaningful it was strongly appreciated and made me forget for a second i was having a bad day. Not sure if there are new owners, but the last few times I went in for coffee in the morning there is a really nice couple that work the store. The man is very personable and asks me what kind of coffee I like to make sure it is always available. He always has a smile on his face and makes sure I walk out with whatever it is that I came in for. Today he asked me how my weekend was. I never realized until today how important it is for a store owner, manager or employee to be personable and engaging with their customers. It makes a huge difference and It makes me want to come back. It's about time! They finally hired someone who actually cares and does his job above and beyond! Eversince Kenny got on board, I've seen a total 360 turn around, or change at this 711. The store is significantly cleaner, the coffee is fresh, and I don't have to worry about buying something that's expired. It kept happening to me I was going there by something and once I get home or wherever I realize it's expired. I got sick of wasting my time and money due to lazy employees who can't do their job and read a goddamn date. I didn't realize it's a hard job to get expired food off the shelf and make some fresh coffee. Actually stop going to that location and went down within himself to the other 7-Eleven on Huntington drive about 2 miles away. Well one day I was in a rush so I popped into dislocation and I noticed Kenny, a new employee. I also noticed the store was actually clean and you can see the floors. And there was straws and lids for the right size cups. I hope Kenny is getting acknowledged for his hard work and he's appreciated because if it wasn't for his work ethic I wouldn't go back to that store but now I practically go there everyday cuz it's right by my house so thank you Kenny! 2 thumbs up Kenny One last thing, the other employees should take some notes and perhaps get trained by this dedicated young man, cause God knows, they could learn a thing or two!!!! read more

When I was in the area visiting a friend of mine in Duarte, I happened to stop in this location at around midnight, and was pleasantly surprised!!... I guess it's under new management or something because he store was noticeably cleaner, the floors were shinny, even the coffee and supplies were perfectly set up!!.. And when I was checking out, as usual, I had my hands full..(I always end up buying more items than I set in to..), a super nice and helpful employee saw me struggling, and immediately came to my rescue!! He helped me bring my items to the front and even helped me with the slurpie machine, as I tend to over-fill my cup making a total mess!!.. Anyway, not only was he helpful but he didn't make me feel rushed or uncomfortable and he even made me laugh!! i'll start off by acknowledging that i am indeed evaluating this particular 7-11. not so much because i love this very 7-11, but because i was unable to find a previous review on it and have been dying to have one of those cool "first to review" symbols on my profile. yes, i am one of THOSE ppl. food: you've got the usual stuff... chips, drinks, candy, water, cookies, etc etc. but what really impresses me is that when im pressed for time at work and cant take a real lunch, they have these $4 sandwiches that arent all that bad (for what they are). the smoked turkey with jack cheese on cracked wheat bread with dijon spread is just what i need when i have 10 minutes to eat something non-messy, non-smelly, semi-healthy, but still yummy in my car. and biggest plus? i have not yet gotten food poisoning from it. woohoo. it's actually quite fresh, with delivery and expiration date stamped on its sealed packaging. service: not exactly service with a smile, but cant expect too much. at least he always asks if i need a bag for my 1 sandwich. the one thing i DONT like is how the guy working the register seems to always accidentally graze my hand when taking my sandwich/drink/money/credit card from me. i've begun to cleverly avoid this problem by tossing everything on the counter now. so though there is nothing REALLY wrong with this 7-11, besides the occasional unwarranted physical contact you may receive at the register ( -1 star), i nevertheless give this place 3 stars... because, well, it's 7-11 and should really get no higher than 4 stars anyway. sorry, im a star snob. read more

Every once in a while I just crave a slurpy or need a bottle of sofa and 7-11 is always there to fulfill you needs. This morning I stopped to get a chocolate milk for my daughter. While there, I noticed one of their "fresh" sandwiches had mold growing on it and kindly told the cashier. The first time I told him he didn't respond but instead finished ringing me out. I thought maybe he would go pull the sandwich from the shesI after but instead went on to put more food in the warmer. I asked if he was going to remove it and he said "no, they will come take care of it." At which point I became upset at his complete lack of care that there was moldy food on the shelf which could make a customer sick. It wasn't until another customer also got upset that he begrudgingly walked over and took the one sandwich from the shelf. He didn't check any other food and it was clear he simply doesn't care.
