Stopped by at 1 PM for a hot dog, only to be told they were done making them for the day--not ideal for a lunchtime visit. I opted for nachos instead, but there was no chili, and the toppings bar was missing a few essentials. Ended up with stale chips, just cheese, and plenty of pico. To top it off, my tray was broken, which they noticed but still charged me anyway. Overall, not the best experience. read more

Me and my friends came to get food and drinks at 2am after fishing. the door was locked and the lights on although it is open 24 hours we knocked on the door Multiple times and called for someone. we called the store 10 times someone picked up once didnt say anything and hung up. we thought he might be on his lunch break or something may have happened to him and he may need help. we waired around wondering what to do for another 50 minutes. we eventually came to the conclusion the 7/11 worker was either robbed or Overdosed in the employee bathroom and called the non emergency hot line. the hotline sent us through to dispatch and sent 3 cops to the 7/11. 4 minutes after the Owner a old persian looking man with an accent came out and started screaming at us saying his system was down and hes closed for the night. and told us to leave as we were leaving the cops just showed up and he told them he was watching us on tje cameras the entire time and that we planned to break the windows and rob the store. the cops told us to leave, 10 minutes after we strolled past wondering what happened and we see a car pull up walk in and a man starts shopping. a few minutes later the man walks out with nothing and we ask him if its open, unprompted he says "Yeah but dont go in there that guy is an asshole" And said the guy was watching him snd saying HE was going to rob the store and that the system was not down in the first place. absloute mayhem that guy needs to be fired and his store needs to be closed down, and demolished for a new 7/11 with a new owner to be put in place read more

The candy is pretty expensive but that i can live past, the people who work there don't want us to steal so they make us put our backpacks on the side and if we don't they get mad. And there was this one time where i bought something and i paid with only dollar bills because i did not have anything else and they were a bit crumpled up when i gave them to her, and she told me that she wasn't going to fix it and that it wasn't her job so one by one I fixed them and she got so impatient she started fixing the bills too. I was visiting from out of town and needed a car charger for my rental. Alot of the chargers didn't have a price listed, so I took a few up to get a price confirmation from the cashier. They were very expensive. I took one up that did have a price shown at a lower price but was ringing up higher. The cashier tried to tell me that they were on the shelf wrong.. they weren't. After coming in off and on for over 30 years for coffee, etc - I asked them if they had seen the new coffee set up some stores have - a complete variety (about a dozen flavors instead of just 3 or 4) and brewed right in the decanter (stays hot but not burned and strong like the old glass pots they're still using here). They told me to complain to the 7/11 corp., not them. I explained that they are franchised by their local owner - and might suggest this to the owner. They argued that they don't sell enough coffee to support this idea, with lots of competitors in La Jolla. Surprise, surprise! They would sell a lot more if their set up and quality were better. Today, the tall man is his 60s working there told me to hurry up because their propane delivery truck was waiting for me to get my car out of his way. The old man needs to be fired ASAP. I came in to get a bottle of wine after work. The cold wine is placed kind of peculiarly with a plastic flap that has the price on it so I was trying to pick it up without effecting that weird plastic part. Of course when I tried to grab it from the bottom it knocked over a bottle and it broke from the back. Obviously I apologized and offered to pay for it. I don't write reviews a lot and I definitely don't like to write negative reviews. However this weekend I went to this 7-eleven, ran up from the beach to get something to drink. As I went to open the cooler door to grab a drink I was ELECTROCUTED! 3 others experienced the same thing. We tried to tell the cashier and the manager but they did not care! In fact they said it's because we were not wearing shoes... Just so you know this 7-eleven is 1 block from the beach half the people in we're not wearing shoes and they had a live 120v current running through there drink cooler doors. First off this can KILL SOMEONE! If a kid came in wet off the beach or better yet someone had a heart condition or a pacemaker they would die! The fact that the cashier and manager new about this and yet yelled at me and the others that told them what happened is completely wrong! LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I will now be driving fifteen minutes to a different 7-11 rather than walking 5 minutes to this location. This store gave me the worst customer experience I have ever had. I accidentally canceled my transaction when entering my pin number, and the owner grabbed my ID, threw it at me from across the counter, and told me it was my fault because I had checked my phone while completing the transaction. The machine's chip reader wasn't working very well, to which he said "who's fault is that?", and then proceeded to snatch my card from my hand and claim that it was being declined. Yesterday I bought two Italian subs and found these bones(?) in them, I thought it was only in one sub, which I stopped eating after I basically almost choked on the bone. I wanted to give the other sub the benefit of the doubt, but there were two more of these bones(?). This is not only a sanitary issue but also a safety hazard. I went into the store and the manager told me I put the bones in there and that I was a liar, which is very unprofessional to have someone like that represent the 7 eleven company image. I don't care about a refund, it is the way the owner handled the situation that was very unprofessional. I am very upset about the way I was treated and accused when I actually could have choked. If that sub sandwich was consumed by a child, they may have not known to stop eating and that could have actually blown up to be a medical emergency. I went to load money in my card to make my car payment and the money was never put on my card! My boyfriend went this morning to speak with the manager and the owner accused us off making the receipt to scam them. Then this afternoon I went to speak with the lady that handled the transaction and was told my receipt was not get correct receipt. I handed her it to look at she said it was not the right one and tried to keep it! When I asked for the receipt her co worker said it's not even the correct one and it didn't matter!! But apparently I now have to wait till tomorrow when they can check the log! Because the drawers were not off ! Well the receipt says theyshould have given me $99.95 change.... If the employee kept that then the drawer wouldn't be off . I'm going to lose my vehicle because of this and I have no way to recover from this my car is Livelihood! They are regularly discriminating against all teenage students, accusing them of stealing (without proof) making them enter one at a time, leaving their backpacks at the door, yelling at them and shouting profanities. I witnessed something absolutely appalling today in this 7/11. There was a customer checking out who who is trans/non-binary (they teach surfing at windansea and I recognized them), and the woman at the register verbally assaulted them, yelling at them to get off their phone, get out of the store, etc. for absolutely no discernible reason. Then, when she got the same hostility back that she was dishing out, she basically started yelling for one of her coworkers to come man-handle them and throw them out. The customer left before it got too confrontational but I was absolutely shocked at what I saw unfold. There has to be some corporate policy against this kind of behavior toward LGBTQ people... I have lived down the street for 8 years and have been to this place 100 time. 99 of the times the customer service has been great but I stopped in after work on 12/3 to refill a 5 gallon water jug. The machine was rejecting my bills so I went inside and asked the female attendant for change and she no. I was kind of shocked and I had never seen this worker before. She was tired and strung-out looking and not in uniform. I asked again politely and she said sorry we don't have anything to do with that machine. The owner of this location is a monster and has shouting matches with his patrons. I have been going here for 5 years and I know just about all the employees and they know my kids. The owner was behind the register. Has glasses and is old and a real but job. He spoke down on me infringe of my kids as he tried to overcharge me significantly on my purchases. So my hubby went into 7-11 this afternoon to get a drink and change 2 winning lotto scratchers. 1 scratcher had a win of a $2 ticket and the other a $20 winner. Well a middle aged cashier put tickets in checker applied the $2 winnings towards his drink and told him the $20 ticket had already been cashed and put it under her register. My husband told her it hadn't been cashed can I have it back she just said the manager will be back tomorrow morning everything is on tape and you can tell him. Well hubby took back both scratchers and cash receipt. She had scanned same ticket twice and was keeping the $20 one. Not sure if on purpose to be honest but she was not even trying for customer service so just double check what is happening. read more
