Convenient 7-Eleven on a busy intersection. Coffee is great, donuts are fresh, staff are very friendly!

I came when it was not busy and got my drink in under two minutes. However, the person sitting next to me (with the cutest doggie! They're dog friendly, I think ) waited longer than 10 minutes for her drink. However, this was during a rush and when it was probably the busiest in the morning (?) AMBIANCE AND ENVIRONMENT: The music volume was pretty good. It was low level when the place got busy due to people chatting, machines, ice scooping etc., but when it wasn't so busy, the level was about medium due to the atmosphere being more quiet. The vibes were Mumford and sons, Oasis, Of Monsters and Men, the Head and the Heart, and some classical sprinkled here and there. It is smaller than a chain, but cozy with quite a few seats and table options. I think they did a great job at making the best of the space. The space also encourages community as half of the seating options are shared/shareable. All within an arms reach, which in my personal opinion, is plenty of space. Because of this, it encourages you to acknowledge your fellow human being sitting across, or beside you. The environment was clean, bright, and comfortable. The environment feedback I woukd give is perhaps a stronger sun shade in the windows that the bar and stools face. I first sat here but within minutes decide to move because the heat was a bit too much for me. Again! A personal preference. Coffee shops can also naturally get warm due to the energy being used for the machines and refrigerators, so something to consider. The air-conditioning kicked in a little later which helped make it more comfortable. Another thing I noticed is the outlet near the corner table and lounge chairs has a an outlet extender plugged into the wall outlet, but the wall outlet is extremely loose with no faceplate. This can cause electric shock, wiring damage and possible fires. I know from personal experience. It's a real easy and cheap fix that I highlyyy recommend they do ASAP. Just trying to be helpful because I really, really like this spot. FOOD AND DRINKS: I ordered a Hibiscus Berry Blend, as is, iced. It was $5.00 even. It is served in a14 Oz. cup. With ice, it's probably about 12-13 Oz. of drink you're getting. I think it was worth it. The flavor was equal and very nice. Not too fruity, not too watery. It wasn't sweet, due to me not asking for any additional sweetener. As I sat and worked, I heard a lot of other orders and some were very creative. So they do have all those fun drinks people love to indulge in occasionally. They also have classic drip coffee and loose leaf tea. THE REASON WHY I TRIED INICIO: The biggest thing I noticed, being an activist myself involved in many efforts for social justice through my work and personal life, was their mission to erase modern day slavery. Human trafficking is a horrible thing that unfortunately is haooening right before out very eyes. They donate a portion of all food, drink, and catering sales to Justice 180. That is honestly, the reason why I came. I would love to partner with them and invite them to come cater at my center. I plan to spread the word about this place and continue to support them.

We found a nice spot with a couch and seats, and a coffee table. I ordered a Prosecco it's my go to I love bubbly drinks, it was good and the price was great! We ordered a burrata and a charcuterie board it was so yummy with plenty to choose from. The servers are friendly and quick. The only thing was that in this heat wave, it was hot inside. But other than that, this seems like it will be our bookclub meet up spot!

San Fernando is a narrow 2 way street but there is parking available. We found a metered spot and put money in for an hour. You have to pay everyday except Sundays. The inside was cute and busy. There are tables and a bar area to sit at. You place your order at the counter and they give you a number so they can bring your order to you. Staff was friendly, they gave us a few min to go over the menu and answered any questions we had. The menu had drinks, small bites and sandwitches. Drinks also came out quickly, although we did have to wait longer for the food items. My matcha that I ordered was really good, it was off the seasonal menu. It was a peach basil matcha, very creative combination and the basil was not overpowering at all. I also got an avocado toast with egg and that item was a little underwhelming. The egg was cold and the avocado needed a little more flavor. However, overall good experience.

We ordered the bouquet burrito and chilaquiles. Food came out fairly quickly, and they even package your food in a to-go box in case you have leftovers to take home. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. BUT BEWARE indoor seating gets competitive. Especially on a hot day, you'll often see people moving from seat to seat to get away from the entrance or are waiting for a seat to be freed inside. It's a great place for anything really. I've had hours of conversations, reading and work done here. I've also seen many others do the same. My main con with this place is the parking situation. The parking lot is TINY, so you have to park locally. That's about a 3-5 minute walking distance from the store. I normally wouldn't mind, but it bothers me on hot days. The food is so interesting. They have both healthy and hearty options at a competitive price. It's the classic Chicken & Waffles, Avocado Toast, Bouquet Burrito (a breakfast burrito) and Breakfast Tacos. Someone in the kitchen also likes kimchi and loves mixing it in their food because they also serve Kimchi Breakfast Tacos and Kimchi Grilled Cheese. I don't know how many visits it'll take to fully experience this place, but I think it's worth it.

Date of Purchase: 8/19/2026…read more The ensaymada at Max & Lucy's is superb--I'll give them that. It's soft, delicious, and clearly made with quality. Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same thing about the customer service. Our experience inside the store today was incredibly unwelcoming. The clerk/cashier was not approachable at all, and her demeanor made us feel as though we were being judged rather than welcomed as paying customers. We were there because we genuinely wanted to buy and enjoy their baked goods, yet somehow we walked away feeling like we were being treated as if we couldn't afford to shop there. And that's the part I find disappointing: great products do not excuse poor customer service. You can make the best ensaymada in town, but if the person behind the counter makes customers feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or looked down upon, the quality of the food becomes almost beside the point. People remember how a business makes them feel. I hope the owners of Max & Lucy's take customer service as seriously as they apparently take their baking. Your products deserve praise, but your customers deserve warmth, courtesy, and basic respect too. A smile, a welcoming attitude, and treating every person who walks through the door like a valued customer cost absolutely nothing. Sadly, despite how much I enjoyed the ensaymada, I cannot recommend this place to my friends based on the service we received. Great baked goods may get someone through the door once. Great customer service is what makes them want to come back. The ensaymada left a very good taste in my mouth. The customer service definitely DID NOT.
