Who doesn't love a good old fashioned 7-Eleven run? We came in here a couple times while in the area for necessities, and found them successfully. Headphone, iPhone adapter, Tums, and DayQuil! We had gone to the Rite Aid nearby first and were shocked at how little stock they had. Good parking, well-stocked and good service. We will definitely be back. Who doesn't love a 7-Eleven. They are everywhere and always have what you need. I called ahead to make sure they had a can opener before make the journey down the street. The man who answered the phone was over the top helpful. He went to the can opener section and doubled checked they have them in stock. They also have a plentiful selection of snacks, frozen food, and drinks. We went back a couple of times. read more

The man at the counter was SUUPER rude. My friend was buying some alcohol (for herself only) and he insisted on seeing my ID as well. I wasn't carrying my ID since I wasn't driving or buying alcohol. Refused to sell to her unless he could see my ID too. This isn't standard practice, so I'm not sure what's wrong with this one guy/location. Who in their right mind does a review on 7-Eleven well this guy. This is by far the cleanest 7-Eleven I have ever been in. It's no more interesting and no less interesting than any other 7-Eleven. It has the exact same items with plenty of beer and cheap wine. It has aspirin, Tylenol, Motrin. There are food condiments and a nitrite rotisserie with hot dogs and whatever meat wrapped things spinning waiting to so your heart. So why review a 7-Eleven? When you sell the same thing as everyone else you have to find a way to make yourself stand above the rest. Customer service baby!!!!!!!! They have amazing attendants and customer service reps. They are friendly and helpful, they act as if they are happy to be working and making whatever not enough wage that they are getting paid to serve the public especially the drunks and rude folks that come in. This is totally a first world problem: there was a sign that indicated buy 2 king size hershey's candy bars, get 1 free. At any other 7-11 I've gone to, this means ANY Hershey's product, but at this particular location, the employees refused to use the promotion on any product except those pictured on the sign (a kit-kat, regular reese's, and regular hershey chocolate bar). This wouldn't have irritated me so much except that the man behind the register first told me that what I'd grabbed wasn't Hershey's (I showed him the back), then continued to shake his head at me and speak in Punjabi to the other employee right in front of us. HORRIBLEEE costumer service. The man working was very rude. Told us not to come back in his store again. We did not do anything to warrant the disrespect from this man. I was with my friend who was buying alcohol and when we got to the counter he asked for BOTH our ID's. If I were to have my ID I wouldn't have minded but I only bring it with me if I'm driving. He checked out my friends ID multiple times and of course it was fine, but due to me not having mine on me he started fighting with us. The alcohol wasn't even for me so there really was no reason to even check my ID. Needless to say, it was a very upsetting experience, and I will not be going back ever again. Bought an iPhone cord and charger that didn't work and they didn't let me return it. Spoke with the manager that was there he smelt like cigarettes and had tattoos on the back of his head. He seemed very disrespectful. I'm a very honest guy and what they did was not correct. I never left the parking lot when you going back to return the items. The manager told me there was nothing he could do for me and I was out nine dollars. read more

Best 7-11 in town. The clerks are great and always greet me with a smile very friendly staff. The store is always kept clean and well stocked. It's in a good location and you don't have to deal with the downtown drunk crowd or the transients. read more

Stopped to get a drink, there was a gentleman waiting at the counter when I walked in and another in the store at least 3. Clerk was wiping counter down at coffee, she heard the bell at least 3 times once I walked in now. No, I'll be right with you or anything and No sorry for the wait either once she came to counter. The gentleman ahead of me said "Hello" as she scanned his 1 item. This person, (not going to call a lady) did not look at him, acknowledge his greeting or anything. He then looked at me and I mentioned how rude she was and he just shrugged, I guess most people have just become desensitized to proper etiquette. I then ignored her when asked if I wanted my receipt, then she got snippy. I told her then "she didn't need to be so rude to her customers. Needless to say, we are the reason she receives a paycheck in the end. I did not get her name but she has long dark hair and wears black framed round glasses. Not bicycle friendly. This 7-Eleven is conveniently near to my house but they have lost me as a customer. The reason for this is that not only do they not have bike racks outside, or anything else to tie your bike to, but when I brought in my bike (my main means of transportation) for fear of it getting stolen, I was given a lecture by the female clerk about why I was not allowed to have it in the store even though they don't have bike racks outside. I completely understand that they can have whatever rules they want but the way I was treated was moronic on their part seeing as they don't have bike racks. Bicyclists beware do not stop here, not even if you are really thirsty on a hot summer day! read more

This 7-11 is the only one I go to in SLO. they are the nicest employees you will find at any of them in this town.

I've been coming to this store off and on for ten years but for the past 2 and a half years I've been coming regularly cuz I live nearby. There is a really sweet, nice, funny, thoughtful clerk there that has worked there ever since I can recall first going there years ago. I'm not sure if her name, I think its Anna, she's probably if Asian descent or Vietnamese maybe, I'm not sure. She wears glasses and is short and she seriously lights up the whole place. I love when I go there and she's working. She has a really think accent so it's hard to understand her sometimes but it doesn't even matter cuz she is so kind, I can feel it. I know I probably sounds crazy but it's true and I've been meaning to write this for a long time. For the past few months a different clerk has been working there. I don't know her name but she's white, ALWAYS wears a baseball hat, also wears glasses and has brown hair in a ponytail. She is never happy, never ever greets me, I have to greet her first and she'll barely knowledge me. She rarely will crack a smile, it seems to pain her to do so. I always make sure to be nice and pleasant to her regardless of her crummy attitude. I thought maybe she just has a hard life, hates her job, has personal problems and that maybe she's going through a lot of stuff. So I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. But my husband says when ever he goes in there she is always perky and talks to him , asks him about his tattoos, tells him she likes them etc etc so it's not that she's just having a bad life or whatever I was thinking. She's just a raggedy ass b*tch. I buy the same cigs from her there all the time and I go in and tell her what kind I want, and I speak clearly and loud enough to be heard, and she always always tries to give me the wrong cigs!! Today I bought stuff and told her I wanted to put money on my debit card and to take the fee out of the money I just handed her. (I do this regularly so it's not like a new thing and I always have the clerk take the fee out of the money I've just handed them)She didn't do that and tried to tell me I needed to give her more money. So I nicely said to please just take it out of the money I had just given her and I said sorry too. She did as I asked but did with such a f-ing sour face and attitude you'd think I just pulled down my pants and pissed on the floor. I just couldn't help but say something so I told her , with out the editing out the cuss word like I'm doing here for the sake of being respectful to you, the reader, "you're a real f-ing peach lady!" Last night 1/16/2013 around 10:00. My friend (30 years old) and myself (33 years old and look like it) walked into this 7-11. My friend tried to buy beer and tobacco and the kid at the counter asked to see both our ID. I'm not buying any beer or tobacco, so I just tell him I'm 33 years old give him a dirty look and walk out of the store. I would need to go back to the car and I didn't need a hot dog that bad. It was my friend who wanted to buy something. After I left the kid told my friend he would sell him the beer but not the tobacco because I didn't show him my ID. My guess is this kid hates his job and is actively driving customers away. read more

I too have had all of the negative experiences that the others have, however it was not always this way. This 7-11 used to be my favorite one in town, not only due to it's location, but because of the friendliness, and helpfulness of the clerks. That all changed once they hired the woman with the baseball hat, glasses and scraggly dirty dark hair. Her outside appearance could possibly be overlooked, if it weren't amplified by her surly sour and rude demeanor. When you enter the store she will not acknowledge or speak to you. When you attempt to have eye contact with her you automatically stop yourself after seeing her look of disgust and the fact that you are an inconvenience to her. Mostly because she would rather be chatting with all of the homeless people, and giving them freebies. Prior to her employment there, it was a safe, pleasant place to go, anytime of day or night, and the crowds of homeless people loitering was almost non-existent. But worst of all is that clerk who makes you feel unwelcome, and if she does have to speak to you, (she would really prefer not to, and she makes that very clear) she is rude and condescending, and again no eye contact, smile, or thank you. Since her employment there I only stop in once every few months, whereas before her employment I stopped in 2-3 times a week. I have even gone as far as to pull in to the parking lot, see her, and pull right out. Lastly, when I do stop there, nothing is stocked it seems dirty and creepy, just like her! read more
