I had a late night drink order that was out of the ordinary and was bot expecting to be greeted nicely since it was so late at night (right before closing), but the staff were so friendly and had no problem with my late night crazy order. So nice, made me a customer for life.

What's there to say about Starbucks? I do love their Egg and Cheese protein boxes especially when I'm on the go and haven't made time for breakfast. If I come by here I'm usually grabbing a protein box and either a latte or and iced Green tea

Food and service great...bathroom needs help! Please Starbucks...understand that disgusting bathroom means we may question behind the counter cleanliness.

We stumbled across this location after a beautiful and scenic hike in the area. This has to be one if the coolest Starbucks locations. This location use to be a bank and the bank vault is a neat site to see. The vault has been converted to a cozy seating area. Although the inside area is closed due to COVID, it was nice to see such a cool Starbucks location. Currently the outside has plenty of seating in case you are looking to grab a seat. The bathrooms were open to customers and extremely clean. Placed my drink order and the staff were warm and friendly. Definitely check out this Starbucks in case you are around the area.

Wayward Baking is one of my favorite bakeries of 2026…read more 1. I've only heard great things about Wayward Baking so I had some expectations - each one of them was met and then some. This bakery is simply amazing and everything I tried was so good. 2. I ordered a kouign amann, chocolate croissant, morning bun, double chocolate cookie, and two caneles. If I could order more, I would've added a rice pudding danish, basque cheesecake slice, and madeleine. I love that when standing in line, you can peek into the kitchen to see what the bakers are working on. It's really nice to see the process and work that go into everything. 3. Their chocolate croissant is my ideal chocolate croissant. I love when the outer layer is crisp and the inner layers are soft and buttery. The caneles were yummy - they were crispy on the outside, custardy on the inside, and the flavor was perfect. I loved the double chocolate cookie as well, it had great texture and the flavor was very balanced - not too sweet! 4. Even if it's a bit out of the way, I would absolutely come back every time I'm in the area.

Came here on a Friday morning and there was still a small line. I got three croissants and a special Danish. I thought the croissants were pretty good but not exceptional. However, I thought the Fig & Walnut Danish was excellent, although pricey at $8. The croissants could've used more filling, and the almond croissant tasted a bit burnt. Maybe I'm just spoiled by so many good bakeries in my area, but I'm sure this is probably the best bakery in this area.

It gets its beans from Morii Coffee, which is another great place, and uses ceremonial grade organic matcha. Doesn't have any exotic or crazy latte drinks like the ones you'd find in LA/OC area, but it does an excellent job with standard items. Flat White was excellent. Nice, strong flavor without being bitter. Matcha Latte was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Not sure where this place gets its baked goods but the berry scone and orange cardamom rolls were really good. Service was friendly and inviting. Rather than calling our name, they brought our drinks and pastries to our table. Might make another stop tomorrow as we start heading back home from our last summer trip.

The cafe is beautiful and unique with its Japanese and coffee themed decor. The staff is friendly and patient. I ordered a flat white, a spinach danish, and what I can only describe as an orange frosted cinnamon roll (?). It was delicious. The roll was large enough for me and my wife to share. I hope to be a regular here whenever I'm in town. Definitely give this spot a try.

I purchased the pain au levain, in lieu of a baguette, for $12. The price is pretty steep for a loaf, but seems to be the going rate for these smaller boutique bake shops. The bread itself was warm when I purchased it, which was awesome. Enjoyed it with my coffee, but did find it to be a little doughy on the inside. Good flavor, but not something I would come back for. I'd rate it a solid 3.5. I also purchased the chocolate chip cookies. I think I completely went brain dead when I bought these, because I did read they were gluten-free and vegan, but still bought the pack of 6. Man, they looked like chocolate chip cookies, but didn't taste like chocolate to me, at all. For a regular chocolate chip cookie lover, it's a 1 star. For someone looking for a gluten-free and vegan cookie, this could be a winner. Maybe.

Hello! You had me at absolutely charming!…read more First of all, I've never been to Morro Bay and it was probably the only torrential rainy day in a Century. Being from Seattle, I'm nothing but used to the rain. But this little visit to the bakery warmed my heart. As we drove to the bakery we stopped at Morro Rock, , so I could actually see the amazing 23 million year old monolith. So fun to see the surfers out there! As we started driving into a neighborhood to get to the basket, I was like, "What? Am I going to Gramma's house?" And then, we pull into the freaking cutest little beach house with a garden that made the bleakest day make you feel like sunshine and rainbows. Upon entry, the baked spices and smells blow your olfactories! Yummm! We felt the young lady was very overwhelmed with all the baking!! And maybe our dumbfoundedness was overwhelming. Or maybe I was overwhelmed with so many amazing options and goodies!! She had just pulled something out of the oven. We ordered lemon curd and raspberry tarts, brownies, curry croissants, ham and cheese croissant, french onion soup croissant and some other cookie that someone snuck in on the sly. Sadly, there was no seating there, so we had to take everything to go. Luckily we were only 10 min away. Everything was epically delicious. Especially the flaky curry croissants!!!! They really know how to do it!!! If we had more time we would try their bread. I can't imagine what this place is like when it's peak season but it must be crazy! It is a must visit!!!

    - Groggy's Scallywag Coffee House…read more My girlfriend and I stopped at Groggy Scallywag Coffee House during a short trip to Morro Bay after she had noticed it on a previous visit. I'm glad we finally tried it. It's a small coffee shop right off Embarcadero with a simple setup. They have refrigerators with cold drinks, can make both hot and iced coffee, and also offer a small selection of pastries such as muffins, croissants, bagels, and cinnamon rolls. They also sell coffee to take home. There really isn't indoor seating, but that did not bother us at all. You're right by the coast, and there are tables outside in the breezeway along with areas near the dock where you can stand and enjoy your drink. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The menu is displayed on a TV screen near the entrance, which made ordering easy. I ordered a large iced Mexican mocha, and it was excellent. You could actually taste the spice in it rather than it just tasting like a regular mocha with a different name. I would absolutely order it again. One small thing that really stood out to me was their discount program. Near the register, they had a multicolored flag recognizing several groups including military, law enforcement, EMS, firefighters, dispatchers, and nurses. Before ringing us up, the employee pointed to it and asked whether any of those applied to us. I told her I was a nurse, and she immediately gave me 10% off. I thought that was a really nice touch. Discounts for military and first responders are common, but nurses are not always included, so I appreciated the recognition. Between the good coffee, friendly staff, convenient location, and thoughtful service, I really have nothing negative to say about this place. I would absolutely come back and would gladly try more of their drinks and pastries next time I'm in Morro Bay.
