The barista took less than 30 seconds to make my matcha and she handed it to me all chunky. At first I didn't mind but then saw all these influencers have a perfect matcha so I'm very disappointed. I know it only take a few mins to make a matcha but she could've at least pretended to take longer at the very least. Very lazy work!! Went to SLO for a summit/girly pop road trip, which calls for starting our mornings with exploring a good coffee shop. Field Day Coffee will live rent-free on my saved places for coffee shops in SLO. The coffee has a strong, rich depth that's perfectly balanced, smooth, bold, and not overpowering. Everything tastes clean and intentional, with no artificial flavors or excessive sweetness. I do wish they offered a few more latte flavor options because I truly love the quality of their coffee and would love to experience it in different ways. I didn't get to try their food/baked goods. We were on a weekend trip here and this was our favorite cafe we went to in SLO. We went on a Sunday for the house made bagels and it was pretty busy around 10am. The shop itself was super cute and had plenty of seating for students/patrons. It's also dog friendly! We ordered two matchas (Field day: lavender, rose hips & a regular matcha) as well as two bagels with cream cheese. The matcha was delicious here and I enjoyed the lavender/flowery flavor. The bagels were really good as well - chewy on the inside and a little crispy on the outside. Our only regret was not trying the pastries - they looked so good! I took a trip to here with some friends. We were celebrating post passion project. We all got something different, but it's our differences that bring us together. . The venue is fairly large and spacious with a rustic warehouse aesthetic. There's indoor and outdoor seating available, weather permitting/ It was sunny and slightly chilly so I opted for a hot beverage. If you know me, I love a matcha with vanilla and oat milk. The other two drinks are definitely lattes with maple and honey cinnamon, respectively. What I love most about field day is they always take the time to do latte art and I love to see it! . This spot is a gem complete with parking, wood benches in and outside and several small tables for two. It's also great for communal coffee drinking. My partner and I came in from out of town and I went in for a coffee and a tea on our way to a late morning wedding. The shop was light and airy and seemed to have a good open vibe. It was dog-friendly, which is always a good sign. We ordered our drinks (Black coffee and Earl Grey Tea) and the barista suggested a bagel with avocado, and I enthusiastically said yes! My partner also ordered the banana bread. The barista was working the register and there were two others making drinks and serving pastries and bagels behind her working the pickup counter. We waited for our name to be called and a few minutes later my coffee and the banana bread were ready but not my partner's tea nor my bagel. My coffee was burnt as if it had been left on heat for much longer than necessary which was very surprising given the amount of people who were enjoying theirs and that clearly, the coffee was being brewed constantly and served to dozens. I struggled to drink the burnt coffee but hesitated to ask for a new cup as the three baristas were pretty busy and I really just wanted that bagel and avocado. My partnering nibbled at her banana bread (also, pretty good) without her tea while I set the coffee aside. So we must have beat the rush because now there was a line out the door - 11 minutes later the tea was ready but not the bagel. The tea was pretty good. After 22 minutes without a bagel we left.Look, I get it, there was a line out the door, but this was after we had ordered and yes, they were busy, but hear me out: Fill the orders as they come in. I feel as though subsequent drink orders took precedence over filling our complete order, which included brewing tea and heating up a bagel and slicing an avocado. Burnt coffee, delayed tea, and unable to serve a bagel in 22 minutes. Good vibe, dog-friendly, nice open space, good vibe and good people - but would not recommend unless you are a local with a dog and need only a coffee. read more

Batched matcha?!?!???? Whyyyy??? My vanilla matcha tasted like milk with a few hints of grass here and there. It takes literal seconds to whisk matcha and make a better drink than premixing your matcha. If you have something on your menu in which you are charging people for, I believe it should be somewhat decent. Glad it was only $6 because any more expensive and I would have been even more upset. One of our favorite coffee spots all of SLO proper, bar none. Their homemade smoked sea salt maple syrup is one of the better latte syrups I've had We also love heading here for their once a week Bagel Sundays (they're incredible and significantly better than HoBags - get there early) and for the nice selection of pastries they carry. Field Day is right up there with Scout/Tiny Cafe/Twenty South/Lucy's as one of the very best coffee shops in the county. While they make great coffee - the location is a bit closer to CP campus than I'd ideally prefer which can make parking and spacing within their location a bit tricky. Not a coffee shop that's as conducive to working at like Nautical Bean, Kruzeberg, and Coastal Peaks are. Still a gem in this county and a solid 5 stars for the amazing coffee and bites. In SLO on vacay. Dropped in for a latte and pour over (I got the Colombia). It was later in the day so the pastry case was empty but that's always a good sign. The service was good, ambience standard --wooden benches and metal stools -- not the comfiest coffee shop you'll see but there were several people working on their laptops so it must not be too bad. The coffee was solid, but nothing in particular to rave about. The outdoor seating is nice, especially if you're looking to take advantage of a nice sunny day, and there's a beer and wine spot next door in case you decide "well hey, I'm here anyway." FIELD DAY COFFEE did not miss! Their shop is super cute with a bright open seating area and cute plant decor. The staff were super kind and helpful in recommending drinks for first timers to the shop. We got the cinnamon honey matcha and it was DELICIOUS! The Hojicha latte was also good, but definitely a little earthy in taste! We did also grab the avocado toast to go (not pictured). They package it unassembled which we appreciated because we were able to use the bread to dip into the avocado topping. Super surprised by how much I like this place! My boyfriend and I stopped off in SLO on our road trip south. I've had some good matcha in OC and SD so I didn't think this place would compare, but they have some really good matcha! We visited on a sunday morning and it was very busy-- took 15 minutes to order. The shop is cute and shares the building with a cool consignment shop. Lots of seating inside and outside. Very clean. I loved the vibe here and the coffee smells so good, but the drip coffee tasted a little off today. Maybe it was a bad batch? I ordered a latte and my husband ordered a drip coffee. His was a little hotter than mine so we walked back to our hotel while waiting for it to cool. My latte was phenomenal but when my husband tried his, it was very bitter and sour, not like any coffee we've had before. I tried it myself and it was very sour and acidic, which was disappointing. We had to check out of our hotel, so unfortunately we didn't have time to go back and have a redo and ended up throwing it away. Overall great espresso! I loved my drink.
