Old design location, rude reps, and no intelligence there to even provide proper safe covers for tea or coffee. They force you to use covers with holes in them, no snap cover unlike all the 711's which have them and much more who are modern locations (even the old like this hole) but well maintained. You complain to them and instead of showing they have brains and using the covers like everyone else on earth to avoid burning your hand, ruining you car interior, beverage getting cold etc., in which they can be held legal liable. These horror shows insist on the same nonsense. With Dunkin Donuts nearby and many other deli's with better deals and selection as well who needs to go to this horror place! Perhaps making coffee or tea at home and saving $750 or more a year is a great idea also to avoid this nonsense. Their loss! read more

This is another 7-Eleven that's my hometown 7-Eleven. Right across from the Stony Brook Train station, I always took the kids to stock up on candy before we hit the movies. If I need a quick stop for a gallon of Milk, Beers before fishing or kawfee, this is our go to spot. What more can you ask for? Oh thank heaven! read more

The service is absolutely terrible...I went out at 4am during a snowstorm and at 25 years old i got carded for butane when I tried to explain the gravity of the situation with the snow so bad I was worried I wouldn't even be able to make it home never mind make it all the way back again, also not knowing that was a even a New York State law for lighter fluid because i have never been carded for it, all I was given was a rude attitude and a dirty look. she had no uniform on and no mask in the height of a pandemic. read more

Ah, the Stony Brook 7-Eleven -- basically the only convenience store within walking / biking distance of campus. This place is busy all day, all night. I wouldn't recommend going there to eat. All they have is hot dogs, which I've gotten twice. They are not tasty at all, but you can put tons of toppings on them. It's basically a typical 7-eleven. The drink selection is a bit weak in my opinion but they have all the basics. I hope they can improve, because they do a good service to the Stony Brook campus community. read more

Apparently to buy beer here you need to be from New York or just carry your passport on you wherever you go. I am a student of Stony Brook University and I have been purchasing beer in this location for over a year. Today I was refused service as I presented my STATE ISSUED New Jersey license. With a line in back of me, I was refused to purchase alcohol like I was a 19 year old (I'm 26) with a fake ID. It was extremely embarrassing. It is not my problem that they are located near a university and can't tell between a fake and a real ID. Maybe hire more competent employees. Either way I have had problems purchasing alcohol from them on many occasions just because I am from literally the next state over. Worst 7-11 ever. read more

Oh the wonderful memories of coming into this 7-Eleven in Stony Brook... Where do I even begin? Cigarettes were always moderately priced even after tax hikes and they always carried some type of 3 pack deal, either Marlboro or Parliaments. The downside of coming here sometimes, it's literally the go-to spot for beer and cigarettes outside of campus. It's the nearest place you can go to by foot. From the Kelly Quad, it's roughly a 10-15 minute walk. From other parts of the campus, it could be much longer. I've been in here on numerous occasions where either sorority or fraternities have their pledges pull some stupid stunt at this 7 such as shoplift while their brothers or sisters are watching from their in the parking lot. I've seen girls steal and run out, I've had pledges ask me in secrecy to make the purchase for them, all sorts of nonsense goes on in here. What really ticked me off is how the same dude who sold me cigarettes got into a full blown argument with me once over my ID. He sold me cigarettes before with my ID and I remembered vividly one evening, he started to question my birthday, address and then asked to see another form of ID. This was years ago and I remember because of that incident, I decided to just drive off campus to the Hess Station on Stony Brook Rd for stoagies from then on out. read more

I'm a huge 7-11 fan. The coffee is great and is a good low-cost alternative to the pricey Starbucks in the hospital. They also have fantastic deals such as 2 donuts and a med. coffee for $2! Not to mention the donuts were so fresh tasting, it brought back memories of that extinct- but- not forgotten Krispy Kreme Kwality! The company that spelled every word with a K and gave out so many free donuts they wen't bankrupt ; ( RIP. generously glazed gods.
