The days are numbered for this location of 7 Leaves Cafe, and their last day is July 26, 2026. Once this Bellaire mainstay ceases to exist, it will also mark the last location of 7 Leaves Cafe in all of Houston, leaving Dallas (#1) as the next closest option. This is a sad update. This is a chain from SoCal, which has close to 4 dozen locations all throughout the region. The fact that Houston already closed one (#2) within a year and is now on the verge of closing another, feels a bit like we're not allowed to have nice things. This location in Bellaire Chinatown was large, had plenty of parking, and plenty of space for folks to sip, study, and work. They were an ideal spot for post-dinner milk-tea drinks, and an easy choice for folks looking for something different. I'll have fond memories of their assam milk tea and mung bean milk tea, both of which were fan favorites amongst friends, family, and especially visitors. I'm hopeful for a reemergence somewhere, be it in the city or in the burbs, Houston is most definitely deserving of a 7 Leaves option. __________ (#1) More specifically, Carrollton (https://www.yelp.com/biz/7-leaves-cafe-carrollton) and Grand Prairie (https://www.yelp.com/biz/7-leaves-cafe-grand-prairie). (#2) R.I.P. Richmond Ave: https://www.yelp.com/biz/7-leaves-cafe-houston-7

7 Leaves has been a Chinatown staple for years, and it's one of those places that has always been consistent. After all these years of visiting, their drinks and boba have remained the same. They were also one of the first few boba shops serving real taro milk tea, which is something I've always loved. While trends and menus typically change, 7 Leaves has always had the same reliable flavors that keep us coming back. I'm very sad to hear that they'll be closing on July 26th. It's hard to see such a long-standing spot leave the community. They'll definitely be missed.

Food (drinks), service, ambiance - it was always a ten out of ten. I'm going to miss the tea from here. It's the only place I really liked the milk tea. I found out the Black Assam milk tea is black tea concentrate, brown sugar and half and half. I'm hoping to be able to recreate at home once they close. I have 7leaves comes back to Houston... such a sad day...

My favorite boba spot in town! They provide samples if you want to try anything before making a decision. Everything I have had here has been amazing, the teas are so aromatic. Toppings and drinks are always consistent, the boba is chewy and I prefer their honey boba over other places. This was my favorite spot to do homework or study during college. The ambiance is usually quiet and clean. Service is friendly and fast!

This was one of the worst milk teas I've had. We tried the mung bean which has pandan and the Assam with 50% sweetness and less ice and honey boba. The boba consistency was fine. The drinks were still too sweet (the mung bean tasted like 150 % sweetness and very artificial tasting). We could not finish these drinks.

I love 7 leaves! Their boba is consistently soft and honey like. I wish they changed up their drinks more often but the drinks they do have are so solid. I appreciate that they fill the drink up to the top as well if I ask for no ice. Plenty of tables and seating and the staff is kind.

Off the menu combinations ask the barista!!! I got the combo strawberry Hibiscus and sunset passion. They were really good! I'm so glad the barista recommended this off the menu combo.

"Artisan coffee and tea" is the opposite of what is offered here. I expected actual coffee and tea, it's just sugary colored drinks in plastic cups. Very misleading name -expected to be able to get some single origin pour over coffee or loose leaf hot tea.

I am an avid coffee drinker, and while I like to explore new coffee shops, 7 Leaves Cafe is one of my go-to's, just because they do a mean Vietnamese Coffee I was saddened to hear that the location off of Richmond Ave closed, but I'm more than happy to go down the road and into Chinatown to enjoy one of my favorite beverages The space is clean, inviting, and is a great place to hang out with friends, get some work down, or just to sit and relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. And the drinks were delicious as always Some tips: Join their rewards program and receive points every time you order. You can also receive a free drink on your birthday Cheers!!

Stopped by to try their Vietnamese Iced Coffee & fell in love! It's so tasty & well balanced. The service was very quick, and there were plenty of other drink options as well that I'm excited to try in the future.

To quote my friend " wow, that's lightning fast service"! Right when the order was submitted, the drinks came out to be served, and it was on a busy weekend afternoon. The team here was certainly efficient! I ordered the mung bean milk tea since that was a high ranked drink, and I quite enjoyed it. The mix of mung bean paste, pandan and jasmine milk tea made for surprisingly great flavors. The honey boba add on was also just the right level of chewiness and sweetness. If you're looking for a refreshing flavor not commonly found elsewhere, this is the one to try. Pro tip #1: Since the mung bean paste and honey boba carry sweetness already, try ordering the drink at 30% sweetness if you're looking for something "not too sweet". Pro tip #2: if you visit during the afternoon, do not sit near the windows unless you're looking for a good tan.

I had just finished dinner with some friends and we were looking for a little finisher - one of them suggested milk tea and since 7 Leaves was close by, we decided to take a short walk over and check it out. 7 Leaves is set up somewhat similarly to other milk/bubble tea spots I've been to - the biggest difference for me was that it's larger than ones I've been to in NY with a lot more seating. The majority of their menu is tea, with several options for add-ons as well as some sweets to complement. There are the usual flavors that one would expect from a tea spot, though I was suggested to get the mung bean tea as that flavor is not as common in NY. I had never heard of it, and figured I would give it a shot. The tea was good - mung bean is a legume, which I could tell as it was somewhat nutty. It wasn't overly sweet either which was great - overall smooth with a unique flavor. Service was good, and overall I had a great experience at 7 Leaves. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Houston, or wherever I find another location.

I'm used to the tiny little storefront cafes of New York, so I'm still marveling at the sizeable space they have here. This chain of Vietnamese cafes is known for their milk teas, and they have a space that would make any Manhattan counterpart weep. I'm not one to ever really notice or comment on the parking situation, but it feels relevant here to say that parking is easy (it's located in a strip mall). But enough about the square footage, let's talk mung bean milk tea. I was told this is the best flavor they had here. It reminded me of adzuki bean, with a subtle earthiness to it that goes really well with desserts. The true joy of this place is being able to adjust both sweetness and ice. I'm glad I got to try this place that gives mung bean a moment in the spotlight.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Side note you'll need a code to use their restroom. I ordered the split cup of Strawberry Almond Cheesecake and Dulce de Horchata. The cheesecake flavor was okay not overpowering, which I would've preferred more than the almond and strawberry. I think I wasn't impressed with it because the server scooped more of the graham crust than ice cream. I'm pretty sure that's another reason I didn't particularly care for their cheesecake. The horchata was nice with hints of cinnamon and with the split cup made it taste even better.

You're paying for the K-Pop Demon Hunter pop-up aesthetic, the upbeat vibes, the fast service, the themed menu. The desserts? Solid. The Pinky Up Parfait hits. One scoop of cappuccino ice cream comes generous and tasty. Nothing disappoints. But nothing revolutionizes dessert either. This is good execution in service of a limited time experience, not destination-level pastry work. And that's fine. That's exactly what a pop-up should be. The real draw is that everything works together. Vibe, music, service, and desserts that don't let the side down. It feels fun, not gimmicky. That's harder to pull off than you'd think. Bottom line. Pop-ups don't stick around. If the K-Pop theme is your thing and you want solid desserts in a fun environment, go now. If you're just looking for great desserts, permanent spots do it better.

Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
