I came to this shopping center for some tea and Lollicup was closed, and I'm so glad it was because I finally got to try 7 Leaves! Plus it was way better than Lollicup! 7 Leaves was started by Cal State Fullerton alumni and I'm all about local businesses! The menu is fairly simple, and it is nice that they have "customer favorite" drink items checked off so that newbies like me can order the best of the best without questioning every single option (not that I didn't still do that). I opted for the iced Jasmine Sea Salt Cream drink. They didn't allow customizations for sweetness on this drink. I usually order half sweet or lower at other places so I was a bit nervous about this order, but it wasn't sickly sweet like I expected it to be. The tea itself was strong enough and had a nice flavor. I still wish I could've lowered the sweetness a little bit, but overall it was very tasty. The sea cream tasted just like very salty cream when tried on its own. It wasn't great by itself, but when the cream and the salt mixed with the sweetened tea, it was super yummy! The location is pretty small so sometimes seating is hard. Workers have always been very kind and provide a drink carrier if you need. I'm a big fan :] Despite their minimal menu, they provide lots of options. There's also a secret menu, but you have to order in-store (or over the phone?) since their app doesn't offer it. Their coffee-based drinks are STRONG!! They have refreshing alternatives if you're looking for something not so heavy. If you want REAL HEAVY...they've got half gallons! And it hurts me to say this, but the boba doesn't save well overnight in the fridge because they get kinda firm. I like the Sea Cream Jasmine Tea, Black and Tan (secret menu item: house coffee + jasmine milk tea), Thai Tea, Assam Milk Tea, and Mint Sereno. My family was looking for a spot to pick up some boba and this location popped up. The store is small but has wood interior all around. Staff was very friendly and gave samples. I asked for some recommendations and the staff had great choices! My cousins had the Mung Bean Milk Tea, and the Sea Cream Jasmine Tea. I had the Green Thai Tea and it was so tasty! It tasted fresh from the hint of Jasmine and it wasn't too sweet. The drinks are very light and not overwhelming as well. I used to like the Vietnamese coffee, but I think both options are too sweet for a morning coffee run. The flavor of the coffee beans really comes through, but I can't handle the sugary taste any more. The sea cream black coffee is slightly less sweet, but I think there is still added syrup or sugar, so it's still pretty sweet even though it's named black coffee. I order the Japanese matcha soy with boba less sweet, and the drink was good. The matcha flavor was a bit on the light side, but the sweetness wasn't overpowering, which was nice. The boba was very mushy and didn't really have that chewy qq texture, so it was a bit of a letdown. But the drink was pretty good overall. This wouldve been a great location for a drive thru! I left home half awake thinking I can go the day without coffee. Halfway through the drive I had an inklking for some vietnamese coffee and 7 leaves was just around the corner. I havent been to this 7leaves specifically so the location was a bit confusing for me. Its in the far far leftest corner and the sign is fairly hidden. Found it after circling the parking lot. I was torn between the house coffee and the vietnamese coffee once I saw the menu and asked for a recommendation. I was recommended to go with the house coffee with an extra shot of espresso. Still a little too sweet and milky for my taste but it did keep me up! I will probably try the vietnamese cofee next time.. because thinking aboout it, I always get house coffee or the black and tan. read more

From my experience, it seems like the drinks at 7 Leaves are consistently prepared no matter which location I've been to. It's nice to have that level of dependency when you just want a tea and know it will be good. All the drinks on the menu are standard size. It's $0.75 extra to upgrade to a large. I ordered the herbal tea with grass jelly. It's my favorite tea on the menu. They say it's a blend of herbal teas and from what I can taste, I think the most dominant flavor is chrysanthemum, which pairs well with the grass jelly. This location is in a busy strip mall so it can be hard to find parking. Usually there's more parking in the back of the shopping center. read more

This is our go to 7 Leaves store at Diamond Jamboree for food and drinks before a shift at the hospital because it is open early enough. The staff at this store always have our drinks ready when we order by mobile app as we are driving to work. Yesterday, my daughter and I went in to the store. We were greeted warmly upon entering. We ordered for our drinks, an iced matcha soy, a Sunrise Mint, and a Strawberry Passion and for food, a ham and Brie and a steamed pork bun. My daughter without fail orders the steamed pork bun. She would rather have a savory item than something sweet for long lasting energy. Supervisor and staff worked together on the order. While we were waiting for our order, I was noticing the fall decor--pumpkins with the words "thankful" and "give thanks". We're thankful for the General Manager Benjamin Pham, Supervisor Jennifer, and other staff members whom we don't know by name yet that service us each time. I also saw the collected books. We don't have any books to donate, but we look forward to donating canned food and toys on future visits as the holiday season comes upon us. A friend came up and greeted us. He was there to meet with another one of our friends. This is a great meeting place for friends early in the morning. Jennifer delivered our order, telling my daughter to be careful with her drink because it wasn't properly sealing. She also gave us a tray for the other 2 beverages and the food went into the bag. My matcha soy was perfect: the matcha powder was completely dissolved, the ice just right, and the drink was creamy. The flavor lasted until I was done drinking. Consistently consistent! I've been to many different locations across SoCal and they always deliver on making tasty drinks. Irvine is no exception. The cafe is located near Jeffrey and Walnut, close to Shik Do Rak in the south corner of the plaza. Parking was plentiful but it was also super busy. Inside there's a display case where they keep the macarons, the counter for ordering/picking up, and one high table with a handful of bar stools. Pretty much just a grab-and-go kind of situation, I wouldn't really stick around to study or socialize. The menu consists of about half a dozen milk tea options, some caffeinated choices, and other miscellaneous iced teas (matcha, herbal, hibiscus, etc.). Macarons come in several different flavors: Chocolate, Earl Grey, Green Tea, Pistachio, Rose Water, Sea Salt Caramel, Strawberry, and Vanilla. They also carry strawberry croissants, so you don't have to make an extra trip to Cream Pan in Tustin. Good quality boba, with the right texture and decent chewiness. I usually get the Jasmine Milk Tea, which is aromatic and floral. Out of everything on the menu, the only thing that I wasn't too crazy about has to be the Matcha... which is a personal preference, but great if you enjoy the earthiness of green tea. I was today years old when I found out they have a secret menu! Definitely have to come back to try those. read more

I stayed around Irvine during my trip to Cali and this was the closest location to us. I went about 3-4 times during my week long stay. I often get the House coffee which is a remixed version of the ca phe sua da. They add cream and sweetness to it so it's not super bitter like ca phe sua da. It is super sweet, but I sure as heck would take it over bitter. When I want something not as sweet I like their sea cream black coffee. My first time having it was on this trip, and I really like the mix of sweet and salty that isn't too ~heavy~ like their house special is. When I don't want to be caffeinated, I get the mung bean milk tea. It is normally very sweet, so I usually like to cut the sugar on it. It tastes like che in drink form and is so so good! Every time I came to this location, I was greeted incredibly fast and by multiple people! They always offered samples if I needed, and were super nice and patient (I was always ordering 5+ drinks for family). The drinks at 7 Leaves are pretty much always good and this is my go-to milk tea chain in SoCal. This Irvine location in my personal opinion is almost as good as the Cypress location (where I moved from) taste-wise, except for the few times they had issues with ice. One time, I asked for less ice and the ice was still filled to 3/4 of the cup. Fortunately, the manager agreed that that was a mistake on their part and provided a credit for my next drink. Another time, I opted for no ice for the second time I ordered their House Coffee through their app, and they only gave half of the drink (the other half of the cup was empty). I don't think reducing the ice on the House Coffee should be an option offered by the location if the drink is going to be left with such a big gap, as that is poor branding for a customer to receive their drink that way. There should at least be a disclaimer on the app when ordering that a customer will be receiving their drink with a large gap when opting for no ice. Other than the issues mentioned above with ice/no ice/ less ice, the drinks are tasty and I am leaving 4 stars for the location being clean, convenient, and my love for the general 7 Leaves chain! read more
