Every time I'm in the OC and I'm looking for a place for a sweet treat, Maison de Croissant was always high up on the suggested search results list. Only recently was I able to visit and try their croffles and other sweets. Did NOT know that this was inside the H Mart food court in Diamond Jamboree. Parking is horrendous and the driving there is horrendous as well. Probably the easiest and least horrifying option just to automatically default to is to just park in the overflow lot right next to the plaza. There's no indicator for the parking garage so on a particularly busy day, you can head all the way to the top, find nothing and navigate through the hell crowds trying to leave. Ambiance is a very casual, counter order business in the food court. There's seating there, but we ate really close by. Definitely something you have to eat immediately or the texture will not be optimal or it might get soggy. We got the tiramisu croffle and they toasted it and put it together for us there. The lady working there packed it up nicely in a to go box and we got some cookies (regular ones and almond crisp ones). It's a bit sweet, but they're dessert pastries so that makes sense. Goes great with a brewed cup of tea. Croffle had a nice semi-chewy texture and the tiramisu flavor added a bit of a coffee taste to it. Good balance of the cream and croffle. The cookie wasn't too bad either. Overall not a bad to go dessert spot. read more

These were too good!!! Caramel was 9.5/10 and strawberry 8/10. Caramel was on the sweeter side but I absolutely loved it. I devoured both and have no regrets. These are made fresh and are unbelievably delicious! The croffle is crispy yet chewy and the cream is not too sweet. Definitely a hidden gem and found inside an H-Mart! Would definitely come back and am looking forward to it! read more

This bakery is located inside the H-mart. In addition to the bakery items, they have a drink menu and fresh taiyaki and croffle also. A croissant for under $3.00 is a good deal. I usually come on weekdays and parking is available. Please come and create your own adventure. read more

Stopped by Maisin De Croissant with my girlfriend and several meetup acquaintances for dessert after lunch. She ordered 3 stuffed waffles for us. Nutella, custard, and red beans. All were good, the Nutella was my favorite. Other members had cheesecake and waffles. Everyone enjoyed their sweets . Ordered at the counter and the cashier rang a bell when our orders were ready to pick up. Prices were reasonable. Following Google Map's directions, I discovered that this is within H Mart. Parking can be a bit of a challenge within this busy center; fortunately, I succeeded to find space convenient to the store's front. For my first croffle experience, I chose their Strawberry Croffle ($6.50). Initially, I'd intended to bring it home to share; however, it was explained to me that it's best within a relatively short period; therefore, wanting to experience it at its freshest (right off the waffle iron), I selfishly decided to find a seat in the neighboring eatery and enjoy my mid-afternoon treat right then and there. I loved the light texture of this warm croissant+waffle, generously topped with a delightfully thick-&-fluffy whipped cream, adorned with beautifully red, tasty strawberry slices (5-stars)! Oh, I think hubby would've so enjoyed this, too! Having their own comfortable seating area, separate from the noisy market would improve my dining experience. I'm always in the mood for dessert, so checked out trusty Yelp and discovered I was minutes away from this 5 star bakery. Taiyaki and Croffles made on the spot. Fresh pastries , friendly service, let's keep this mom and pop shop going. They are too far and few between. Oh, and did I mention their namesake "croissant?" Chocolate dacquoise 4/5 Can taste the almond pieces. I didn't think it was too sweet, but I can see where it may lean a bit sugary. Def hits the chocolate craving as the buttercream is nice and chocolatey. Outside is a teensy crisp with a chewy and less cakey inside. They also had matcha, and maybe strawberry and/or vanilla. Solid for the area! I also got a croffle, but since it wasn't fresh, it def wasn't as good as it was a bit stale. I'd only come here for a fresh croffle! read more

These pastries are delicious! BUT I found it rather odd that they were served COLD to us. Being skeptical about how they should taste, I did a little digging through reviews here and it sound like they were supposed to be served warm. Ours had definitely been sitting out for awhile... I'm just disappointed we weren't server the correct experience; I can't imagine how insanely delicious they must taste fresh off the waffle maker. The location was empty, we were the only costumers so I don't see why they couldn't have made us some fresh ones, or at least reheated them. Smh. This bakery is located inside of the HMart at DJ, towards the right side as you enter through the front. It's a small bake shop, but they've got a lot of really interesting selections. I was craving macarons, so luckily they had some. We ended up getting the 9 piece for about $23. The lady working the register was really sweet and friendly. Of the 9 flavors, most of the ones I got were fruity flavors. The cheesecake flavored ones were probably my favorite, as they had really prominent flavors to them. These macarons were definitely very pretty to look at, but I wish they had a stronger flavor. Some of the shells were brittle and crispy, which isn't ideal on an macaron. I'm glad I got to try them, and know that there's a store inside HMart that carries macarons. read more

Was searching on Yelp for any new dessert places and came across Maison De Croissant, located inside of H Mart. Turn quickly to the right once you walk in and you'll immediately be greeted by the displays of desserts and baked goods. Wanted to grab a muffin, but the price was a bit hefty at $4-5 per muffin, so I opted for the croffle instead. Each croffle is advertised as freshly made with a variety of flavors that you can choose from. I chose the caramel, which came with cream, caramel drizzle, and a Biscoff cookie on top. The lady helping me immediately turned on the machine after I ordered, which took awhile to warm up. Even though they had some already made on top of the machine, she made fresh ones for me and the customer after me. Wow, I have to say that I really rented the dessert. It was about $5-6, which wasn't bad at all. The outside was crispy but it the inside was chewy and not too sweet. Eating each warm bite alongside the coldness of the cream provided a great contrast. Was a bit sad that the croffle was finished in a few bites. Highly recommend checking this place out if you love desserts, especially waffles and croissants. Maison de Croissant is located inside of the Hmart and is a small bakery that specializes in their croffles. Parking can get difficult especially on the weekends. Not too impressed by the croffles. It was not warmed up and tasted a little stale- as if it was left out for a day. The red bean topping we got was alright but there was just a stick of butter on top that was rock hard. Not appetizing at all to have to break apart and eat a stick of butter. Our favorite was the blueberry croffle which the cream's consistency was light and airy and it reminded me of a cream cheese/yogurt. I think that if the croffles were fresh and hot that this would've lived up to our expectations but we have definitely had better. Will probably stick to another dessert place if we are in the area. read more

There's no way this place is rated so highly It's hilarious how their entire bakery is basically straight up packaging Costco bakery items and upselling it for outrageous prices. The croffles are also way too expensive - $6.25 for each one after tax. For that price, they better be making the croffles fresh but nope - if you're unlucky, you'll get a crusty pre-made one that's been sitting with the flies for who knows how long. Get your bread next door at 85C and make your croffles at home. read more

Madison De Croissant is located in the H Mart in Diamond Jamboree. The service was great and we were able to get 3 fresh croffle (croissant + waffles) within 8 minutes of orderingz the croffles were divine. Just smelling them while we waited was agonizing. The texture is more on the waffle side, with hints of the croissant flavor. The creme is very smooth and not too sweet, which was a concern at first. It's in the H Mart food court so there is plenty of seating around. We took ours home and even with the 20 min drive they were still absolutely delicious! There's plenty of other pastries available and we cannot wait to come back for more! read more

The Croffles are perfectly cooked. It has a slightly crunchy exterior with a fluffy interior despite it being topped with delicious cream and topping. I had the tiramisu croffle and my wife had the blueberry croffle. Both were excellent in their own right, but the tiramisu one had a wonderful coffee flavor the coated every bite. The cream to waffle ratio is perfect and the complement each other without overpowering one another. Best croffle in Irvine. It's in our to-go list and will be back again! read more

This dessert store is located within the H mart of diamond Jamboree. Jenny was there to assist with an order placed over the phone and had everything ready when we arrived for pick up. She was such a huge help and so cheerful! We chose the 6 variety pack of croffles - 3 strawberry, 1 chocolate, 1 caramel, and 1 tiramisu. A hidden gem inside of Hmart. These croffles are delicious! Warm and crispy on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. It's not too sweet which means eating the whole thing is no problem. We got the strawberry, chocolate, and tiramisu. We also got the brown sugar oolong milk tea which was made to order. Everything was so yummy. Jenny had a couple of orders ahead of us but made each order with a smile. Parking could be a little tough since the Hmart does get crowded but worth the traffic for this. read more

Parking: Easy parking at the Hmart plaza. Near/In diamond jamboree, the actual store is inside Hmart. Super skeptical about the reviews, even the displays looked too good to be true. Got the strawberry cream croffle. This is my favourite dessert now and I would definitely just drive down to OC (hour drive w/o traffic) just to get this. I also got a white peach iced tea that also won all the points. Super refreshing so the combo was a flavour explosion in my mouth without being overwhelming in terms of sugar. I couldn't have been happier. The croffle was just the right amount of texture without overpowering the strawberry. I'm not sure if the cream is made in house but the way it melted over the croffle was just perfect. It does take some time for them to make, look around Hmart after you place an order, it takes around 5 minutes. Eat it warm and eat it there or in your car. The worker told us it would get soggy if we stored it for too long. Ugh so delicious. read more

Happened to be in the area and we found this gem. My favorite thing we tried was the waffle croissant with fresh whipped cream and strawberries. It was lite and sweet. I could've eaten two of those. My son tried the one with chocolate whipped cream and Oreos and he said it was also good, not too rich. I didn't enjoy the blueberry whipped cream, the flavor felt fake. I ended up scrapping it off. The line was long when we got there but the lady working was efficient and we got our sweets quickly. As a plus, you can do some grocery shopping at market when you're done with your lovely dessert. read more

I was looking for a sweet treat and this popped up. Located inside H Mart made me a bit skeptical but still went in. We got a couple of cronuts, one strawberry and one tiramisu. The strawberry was delicious. Fresh strawberries and a generous portion of whipped cream. My favorite was the tiramisu; fabulous!! There was a subtle caramel taste on the crust and just the right amount of coffee. Not too sweet, but just right. Topped off with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. First of all the price of croffle less expensive then other places, They are so yummy.. My favorite one is the tiramisu, Chocolate is also very good and strawberry is tasty too. This is a small shop inside of the h mart at DJ. I LOVE this place and would eat it everyday if I could get away with it! I usually get the strawberry croffle...it's so good just trust me. The owner of the shop is also such a nice lady, so is her daughter! My friend and I came late one night not knowing they had already closed, but she still made us the croffles even though she could have easily turned us away. One thing I don't get is how there's over 8k photos here when the sign clearly says no photography and no video, but lots of people still love to take photos. As for the menu, it has all of the same delicious treats to offer - a terrific collection of their signature bingsoo flavors, including both their classic and seasonal offerings, mochi and liege waffles, coffees, and specialty lattes and drinks. The one thing I don't recall seeing listed that I remember from before is matcha, but I can't say I was looking for it either. -- MELON LIME BREEZE - Honeydew Base, Fresh Melons, Lime Zest, Condensed Milk, and Vanilla Ice Cream This is one of their specialty flavors that they rotate in, but they need to make this one of their regulars because it is SO GOOD! Between the melon base and fruit, plus the lime zest, this tasted so refreshing. Plus, I LOVED the creaminess from the vanilla ice cream. DELICIOUS! -- MANGO PARADISE - Milk Base, Housemade Mango Puree, Fresh Mango, Coconut Flakes, Condensed Milk, and Vanilla Ice Cream Not as amazing as the Melon Lime Breeze, but no less delicious. The taste of mango in this was really strong and, combined with the vanilla ice cream, condensed milk, and coconut flakes, kind of reminded me of Mango Sticky Rice (without the rice). -- MATCHA STRAWBERRY - Matcha Base, Housemade Strawberry Puree, Fresh Strawberries, Condensed Milk, and Matcha Ice Cream You could argue this is a little "basic", but there's a reason why this is a classic sort of combination. The Strawberries and the puree weren't overly sweet and balanced nicely with the taste of the matcha (flavorful with just a slight bit of that earthy flavor). Beyond the bingsoo, the other awesome thing about this place has been the service. While I do think it's a little better at their location in Costa Mesa, the workers have always been friendly and get orders out fairly quickly. Really, the only "knock" is that they don't come around to clear off tales as fast, which can be problematic when seating gets scarce (mostly at nights and on weekends). Of course, it would be nice if customers bussed their own trays/dishes when they're done and brought it to the little window/shelf at the back, but that's not exactly something that can be (nor should be) relied on either. Considering how much I've enjoyed our visits to this location just as much as their spot in Costa Mesa and how I rounded that down from the same FOUR AND A HALF STARS, it seems only fair that I round up for this one. Although, truth be told, I love Heybings so much, I will take them however I can have them, regardless of whichever of their locations I need to go to!

Ordered the Large Mango Paradise ($14.50), Single Strawberry Delight ($8.50), and Single Black Sesame ($8.75). All three were super refreshing and came with a generous amount of toppings. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite because they were all delicious, especially on a warm summer afternoon. The bingsu was light, refreshing, and perfect for sharing. Disposable paper cups and utensils are available by the register for self-service, which is convenient if you're sharing your bingsu. There is parking directly in front of the restaurant shared with the other businesses but it does tend to fill up. Underground parking is also available and is shaded. Overall, another great Heybings experience!

All of the very unique and delicious flavor options, and the unique texture and taste of the Persian ice cream was absolutely delicious. We were just bummed out that we couldn't finish our ice creams (we shared and did our best, but absolutely could not). So we asked for a lid and attempted to bring it home, but it unfortunately spilled. Oh well, we definitely got our money's worth of the ice cream and had an incredible time here. Past the counter/register, there's a small amount of seating to the back, but there's also a bunch of seats and tables right out in front. More importantly, though, their display case of ice cream is chock full of enticing options. Inspired by ingredients and flavors from around the world, Saffron Rose's roster of flavors is quite diverse. What's more, from their Mango and French Espresso to their Saffron & Pistachio and Passionfruit, they all looked equal parts unique and delicious! -- FRENCH ESPRESSO While it may not have been quite as amazing as I had hoped, this was still pretty good. Although I wish the taste of the espresso had been more robust, it still had a decent coffee flavor to it that I really liked. -- PASSIONFRUIT I got this mostly because I wanted something a bit tart and citric to balance the French Espresso and it did the trick. The passionfruit was refreshing and I liked that the taste of it wasn't overly acidic. -- SAFFRON WITH PISTACHIO Presumably their namesake flavor? Either way, this may not have been my favorite flavor, but it wasn't bad. The taste of saffron was decently strong and I liked how the pistachios in this added some texture. -- MANGO Of all of the flavors I've tried, this is easily my favorite. Not only did it feel rather refreshing (especially on such a warm night), but it also had a surprisingly strong taste of mango to it. -- POMEGRANATE Unfortunately, this was pretty disappointing. Much like when I got the passionfruit flavor, I wanted something fruity and light to offset the pistachio, but this was a little bit sharp and acidic for my liking. -- GREEN PISTACHIO I love pistachios, so I had some high hopes for this one, but it missed the mark for me. For whatever reason, the taste of pistachios didn't come across as well as it did with the other flavors and the chunks of pistachios felt surprisingly soft. -- PINK ROSE My least favorite of the bunch, but, to be fair, I'm also just not a fan of floral flavors and the rose water showed up most prominently in this one. Even though the first couple of bites were okay, the taste of the rose was too much for me after that. Regardless of the flavor, one thing I noticed about Saffron Rose's ice cream is that they're somewhat similar to gelato, but with a slightly gummier texture to them. What's more, all of the ice cream is made with rose water, which, as mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of, though it was pretty subtle in all of them except the Pink Rose. Also, I didn't care for the wafers they give you either. While I appreciate that they can complement the ice cream well (they resembled those classic cake ice cream cones), the wafers had more of a soft, semi-stale texture rather than a crisp one (unless that's they way they're supposed to be). All and all, considering how they're one of the only Persian ice cream joints around, Saffron Rose is by no means bad in any way. At the very least, their ice cream is certainly unique and even better than some of the gelatos I've had. However, as someone who prefers a more classic, creamy scoop of ice cream, I think Saffron Rose is just okay. My gf, on the other hand, is definitely a fan, so I'm sure more scoops of their Mango and French Espresso will be in my future the next time we visit when we're back in town again! The S'mores was exactly what you'd expect: chocolate ice cream with bits of chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker throughout. The vanilla was more dense than most ice creams I've had, yet fresh and smooth. The S'mores was definitely more creamy and yummy. I'd rate this ice cream 4.5 rounded up.
