All the buzz about this place is lost on me. I walk into a mishmash of bistro tables, a menu that spans from Italian to bistro fare, splashy contemporary art on one side and a drawing of a country barn on the other, fancy-ish pottery barn crystal light fixtures and a pretty, well-worn ornate chair. Immediately I can tell this place cannot decide what it wants to be. Food is average and the service is the same. And yet, when one tries to make dinner reservations, there is not a single table available. Color me confounded. read more

I usually never write a review for a restaurant; however, the experience at 75 Main was egregious enough to warrant one. I wanted to like this restaurant, but if I could give it less than one star, it would be a -5 Star review. Everything went well with us(2) being promptly seated for our 7pm reservation. Sad to say, that is one of the very few things that went well during our dinner. After receiving our water, it took an additional 15 minutes before our order was taken. We ordered the Tuna Tataki as a starter to share. At that time, I noticed I did not have silverware. The Tuna Tataki which was actually pretty good, flavorful and seared well; however, it came out roughly 20-30 minutes after ordering. A few minutes later, our main dishes came out. The timing should have been spaced better. We ordered a pasta dish with sausage and broccoli rabe which had virtually no seasoning. The sauce was subpar at best. For all we know, the sauce could have been the water they boiled the noodles in. We also had the halibut special of the day, which was flavored well. Would have liked more crab meat on top as it was roughly 2 tablespoons of crabmeat. The drinks came out during our main course after we inquired about not receiving them; again, timing should have been better as we usually order another round at that time. It would be another hour before we were checked on by our waiter. We noticed that other tables were also waiting for an hour+; however, some tables appeared to have been receiving special attention. We also took note to how management treated the staff in front of the guests, which was not a good look. Honestly, the entire ordeal was a disappointment. Was it the MDW jitters? Who knows. But for an established restaurant, we expected better. First and last time at this restaurant. read more

If you're thinking about eating here - don't. You could have a superior (and more affordable) culinary experience at Applebee's, by picking up a TV dinner, or just ordering in. Even if this wasn't such an overpriced menu, nothing we ate approached what I'd consider restaurant quality. The veggie sides (asparagus and brussel sprouts) were undercooked and flaccid. The server asked if my friend wanted a bun with his burger (?!) and ludicrously didn't mention that the bun cost an extra two dollars, which is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. The veggies that came with our entrees tasted and looked like steamed frozen veggies. Perhaps the most offensive of all was the truffle pasta our friend ordered. There was no truffle flavor, in fact no taste to the pasta at all. It was basically like eating boiled noodles. The only reason I don't give a two star review, if it's after dinner hours looking for a longue vibe, this would be decent. The drinks, while overpriced, were fine, there was a DJ and people dancing. I have been going to Southampton for 80 years. Used to own a house there. My grandfather and my parents owned large houses. I have gone to every restaurant in Southampton except 75 Main, and last night we tried it. Unequivocally, by far the WORST dining experience. I can handle the fact most items are overpriced. I cannot handle it when the food is inedible. I had to spit out three of my six clams, and by the time my papardelle was served it arrived lukewarm and dried up. I could only eat one quarter of my serving. So, never again. read more

It was my first time at 75 Main Southampton. It is a perfect place to meet your friend for lunch or dinner! The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Lovely hostess seated us at the nice and clean table. My friends and I had lunch there and I ordered Prime Truffle Burger! It came with well salted french fries. Prime Burger was super delicious! It was one of the best burgers I ever tried! If I could give this place zero stars I would. This restaurant was completely empty last night when my wife and I arrived at 6:00. We went there because they advertised a happy hour til 7 pm, a lobster special on Fridays and a 3 course prix fix Sunday through Friday night. I attach the ad that was running in the Dan's paper 2 weeks in a row. When we got there we were met with attitude from the hostess who said the happy hour was over at 6 when we walked in. The owner Zac was playing on his phone in a booth and when we pointed out the ad, he said it's til 7 pm. We sat at the bar of this empty place and I asked about the prix fixed menu. The hostess replied they only have the lobster and not the 3 course meal tonight. There is a difference between the Friday lobster special on one side of the ad and a prix fixed on the other side.Again I pointed out the ad, and they didn't care. So much for standing behind your ad. Zac was still playing on his phone. If they were honorable I would have gone there throughout the winter. They lost a lot of money on their poor decisions. The food was def good but I think it tasted even better bc how sweet the service was. My Moscow mules kept coming just the way I like them. 75 Main is a Southampton staple, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Food is good but not excellent. I've been here a lot of times. Friendly staff, they can get really really busy especially on summer time.. I gave 4 stars because though I frequent here and love the place, there's just something missing on the fare they are serving, also the Mojito I ordered tastes more like lemonade and really weak which they fixed anyway. Looking for dinner after arriving from a cross-country trip, we decided on 75 Main because of its menu variety and prices. The place was popular and had people a lot of people, including several families. The outdoor area looked nice but didn't have any open tables. I ordered a chicken caesar salad from the menu. They said they normally grill the lettuce but I didn't want that so they obliged. The restaurant is comfortable with breezes from the open windows. Staff was well trained and on everything. We noticed they all had T-shirts with the owners name on them. Food was really good and the menu offered a lot, including sushi. We saw a Japanese area in the back. We sat by the bar which had a baseball game on it. This restaurant works for a basic meal, nothing out of the ordinary but completely fine. read more

I would have given 3 stars but there was an issue with the bill. The food is very average and very overpriced for what it is. Its not bad, its just not very good. The service was decent until the waiter added a dish to our bill we didn't order and charged us mandatory 20% gratuity for our table. The printed menu says 20% will be added to groups of 6 or more. We were 4 adults and one 7year old child that shared with his mother, so no additional pressure on the wait staff associated with a large party. When I asked the waiter why he applied the charge, he replied "I sat you at a table for 6". Btw I would have given the 20% anyway, it just didn't sit with me well that they tried to sneak in an extra meal and the mandatory 20% gratuity. Fantastic food and a surprisingly good value for the Hamptons. Owner Zach Erdem is everywhere (it helps that his servers all have his name on their shirts like you're always being taken care of by the owner) Super Green Bowl salad was fresh and delicious (you never thought you liked kale until this thing happened) Sushi is not cheap but the best quality I've ever had--sorry Nobu--and well presented. Extremely diverse crowd--hipsters, families, hedge fund barons and lots of locals. (Always a good sign) Stick around when the lights go down and a DJ takes over. You're invited to the party. Today, I was in town with my wife and two sisters and noticed 75 Main refreshed the interior of the restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. hoping they might have refreshed the food or attitude. No such luck. As we were seated at our table, it seems the staff hadn't finished setting the table. The bottle of olive oil that was supposed to be on the table was on the chair. When I pulled the chair out, the bottle crashed to the floor and spilled all over my expensive suede shoes. Of course, it was an accident and no one was hurt, thankfully. That said, the way I was treated after the accident was appalling. The hostess immediately came over to try to help. No apology, just trying figure out what happened and who caused the spill, inferring it might have been our fault. No one was helping our situation or proposing a solution other than that they take my shoes to the kitchen and wash them with soap and water (suede shoes drenched in olive oil) or send them to the dry cleaner across the street (which was closed). I told them I wanted to be reimbursed as the shoes are clearly ruined. I asked to speak to Zach, the owner/manager. As soon as the incident occurred, he saw it and went into the kitchen. It took him a while to come out to our table and he was, to put it nicely, rude and condescending. He told me he was in the kitchen trying to figure out what had happened (while avoiding his customer). This is a guy who owns a restaurant in Southampton yet he mocked me in front of the other customers for wearing such expensive shoes {"Who wear shoes that cost that much!) He then told me he couldn't afford to reimburse me for the damage to my shoes. He said " I don't make that kind of money" as the owner of a restaurant that charges $28 for salads and $21 for an omelette. He went back and hid in the kitchen to avoid the situation while the hostess continued to imply they weren't in error or responsible. I insisted he come back to speak to me. He finally did and suggested I call his insurance company to file a claim, yet didn't have any information as to who I should call. Our voices started to get raised, and the hostess began recording our conversation. He then says that he looked on YouTube and that he could clean my shoes with a vinegar solution and that was the best he could do for me. He had no answer as to how he would help me if the ridiculous vinegar remedy failed. He then moved to the hostess stand and looked past me until we left. Of course, this incident is so disturbing on so many levels. The fact he owns a business in the center of town, where his customers (including me) helped support him during the pandemic yet has such disdain for his customers is disgusting. The fact that he would treat a customer in the disgraceful and public way that he and his staff treated me in my family today is truly deplorable. There was no question that the incident was caused by the error of his staff. Zach embarrassed us publicly during this encounter. He doesn't care for his customers at all. We shouldn't support this business any longer. The consistency in the reviews of their treatment of customers and the bad food is enough. Wish I would've checked Yelp before coming here and saved myself from having a disappointing experience. My friend and I decided to stop by 75 Main and place a to-go order. We ordered 2 pasta dishes and the stuffed pepper. When I opened my order, I was shocked to see that they somehow forgot to add the linguini to my pasta dish...I waited 30 minutes for a container of cold clams. I went back just so they could give me a side of noodles that were not fully cooked. My friend ordered pasta with pomodoro sauce (comparable to Ragu) and the stuffed pepper (inedible). Hello southhampton! Right in the heart was this cute little lunch spot. I came here with my girlfriend and truly had a wonderful experience. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and service was top of the line. i wouldn't expect anything less in their neighborhood anyway. I came 45 minutes earlier than my reservation and they were able to seat me on a sunday at noon. My girl and i both had a drink ( very large creative drink menu) and i had a salad. The salad was refreshing i loved it. Portion was perfect size. My girl friend had an omelette. Long story short the bill was $75, yes it's steep but we're in the hamptons and this location is a celeb hot spot. I would totally come back here ! read more

When we got there, after waiting in a large crowd at the front door for 10 minutes, the host told us the wait would be 45 minutes and put our names down on a list of 10 other parties before us. Zac (owner) & Iona (mgr) have been gracious hosts throughout my yrs of patronage as a year round resident. I have selected 75 Main for many social rendez-vous as well as business meetings. Discreet & lively at the same time. It is my opinion, that it is exceptional for a very popular venue in Hamptons, to treat their year- round patrons well enough to give the best tables in high season w/a discounted catering menu, which in my case was for a memorial for my mother who had passed away in a busy summer month which is outstanding for a resort town. My first experience at 75 Main in Southampton, NY was met with an extremely attentive staff and a delicious meal. I ordered the Traditional Maine Lobster Roll which was the best tasting decision i made at any restaurant i visited for the first time. I am the indecisive diner especially when I visit a restaurant for the first time. It took me a while to decide but I was ultimately happy with my meal. The lobster tasted fresh and the pull-apart bun was perfect in combination. I practically scraped my plate because I didn't allow a single piece of lobster to fall from my bun. My hubby and I decided to take a ride out East on Long Island and saw this restaurant was quite busy as we passed by so we decided to have brunch here. Upon arriving, the hostess Ollie seated us immediately and our waitress Ella came by and offered us water and if we wanted anything else Besides water to drink. I ordered the Whispering Angel Rose and my hubby iced cappuccino. My meal was the 3 egg omelette with Spinach which I have to say was the best I've ever had. it came out fluffy, not a brown spot on it so I knew it wasn't fried. When the Manager George stopped by our table to see how everything was, I commented on how fluffy and light my omelette was . I asked if it was poached and he told me he couldn't share the recipe. I respected that answer. my husband had the Cobb salad and the presentation was beautiful. Fresh spinach and arugulas salad combined with sliced hard boiled eggs, chicken grilled, tomatoes and fresh blue cheese on top. Delicious and dressing not over powering. For dessert we shared the cheesecake and it was light and creamy with a chocolate glaze on top. we will be patronizing this restaurant again. next time for dinner.
