Every time my family comes here we always can count on good service and a good meal. My husband and I came on a whim during the week and got exactly what we expected. Our server was chatty, super friendly, and willing to make recommendations. We started with a glass of wine each which was our customary so nothing out of the ordinary there, but they do have a good extensive wine list for an Italian restaurant. Nothing over-the-top because it's not a wine bar, but it has plenty to offer when it comes to all types of wine (red, white, sparkling, etc). We split dinner and know that there is a surcharge for splitting a plate (minimal two dollars). We had the chicken Alfredo and it was good although the one thing I thought the chicken was premade so it didn't taste fresh like a piece made-to-order would have been. We split a Caesar salad, which is always delicious because it has shaved Parmesan on top and great Caesar dressing (not sure if it's homemade or not). Know that there's a bread basket that comes prior to dinner which has olives, olive oil and Parmesan cheese for your plate to dip your bread into. Don't eat too much because dinner is filling. After dinner, my husband and I went into the bar area on the other side to have a after dinner drink and dessert I had cannoli and he had a cappuccino. I was disappointed because the cannoli didn't have enough filling in it for me so it was mostly shell. I would rather have them give me the cannoli shells with the filling on the side so I can dip my shell and get a great shell/filling ratio. There was live entertainment, which is not always one of my favorite things. However, the trio was really pretty good and not loud and obnoxious so you could have a conversation with the music in the background. The bartender was attentive and it was just a nice experience as usual all around. My continued disappointment here is it really needs some updating on the inside to bring it into the new era.

Great service and even better food! We love 750. Best Italian. And they have fantastic pizza too.

This was our first time here. The food was very flavorful and tasty the and portions were good. Service was friendly and attentive. Ambiance was homey. Plenty of leftovers!

The food is delicious. I came in hungry and left full with left overs. Great service and a beautiful setting.

The biggest issue was that he seemed to have too many tables to manage at once. There were several very large parties--tables of eight or ten people--and it felt like the two of us were frequently overlooked while he was attending to those larger tables. There were many times when he could have simply stopped by our table to check on us or take care of something, but instead we were left waiting while he handled the larger groups. He also had somewhat of an aloof attitude, which didn't help. We understand that large tables require attention, but smaller tables shouldn't feel forgotten because the server has too many tables to juggle. The restaurant itself is also a very loud, lively atmosphere, which may be worth knowing if you're looking for a quieter dining experience. As for the food, I ordered the lasagna, which does list peas as an ingredient on the menu. I found the combination unappealing. I remembered I believe I had their lasagna the first time (no peas) and loved it, but this time It wasn't so memorable. Overall, the experience was disappointing, particularly because we had essentially the similar service experience on two separate visits.

They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.
