787 Coffee is a great option - quality coffee with a smooth, rich flavor, and unique syrups. The staff has been very friendly each time I've visited. The space has a cozy, cute vibe with bright natural light, soft seating, and even small tables to enjoy a cup outdoors. It's a decent spot to grab a drink and go, but the prices can be steep. It's easy to spend almost $10 on a beverage (cold brew, latte with a special flavor, etc. plus tip). It's good for a once in a while treat.

787 Coffee is located just off of Malcolm X Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in Harlem. They have plenty of Puerto Rican style lattes and coffee drinks. They serve their iced drinks in a portable bag, which they explained is so they aren't warmed by your hands as you carry them around. They source their coffee beans from a farm they are connected with in Puerto Rico. They serve pastries and empanadas but were out of empanadas when we stopped by. Coffee: 5/5 I ordered a Tres Leches Iced Latte with Oat Milk. It was very smooth and not too sweet. Pastries: 5/5 We tried the banana bread and a chocolate chip cookie, both of which were excellent. Ambiance: 5/5, classic coffee shop with comfortable seating, soft lighting, and plants. Service: 5/5 service was friendly and efficient. Baristas made good casual conversation.

How much did you spend?!

On a recent visit to my friend's neighborhood, I came here at her suggestion for a coffee on a weekday morning. I remember the location when it used to be "Lenox Coffee" which never impressed me, but the times have changed! You can save yourself a long, excruciating description if you just heed my advice: do not waste your time and money here. First of all, if I had known it was a chain coffee shop, I would not have agreed to come here. I spent about $29 (not including "tip") on 2 drinks, two pasty pastries initially. As our conversation entered the second hour, I bought myself an Earl Grey tea. It was $6 for hot water and a tea bag! Okay, if the Americano were truly outstanding and made my knees go weak, all might have been forgiven, but it as a mess. The lethargic barista offered milk (I opted for oat) and maybe that was added? I'm not really sure. I wish I had photographed it, but I didn't want to miss a beat in the conversation with my friend. As for the "quesito," the best way to describe it was as a slab of cold Philadelphia Cream Cheese wrapped in undercooked, pale dough. It was our only choice because they only had those wretched quesitos, some brown bread that looked dry as sawdust, and some dollar store cookies. To top it off, the other barista who appeared to be just starting her shift approached our table while we talking and forced a QR code in our faces. She wanted us to consider adding a review for 787 Coffee. Gamely, I used my phone to capture the code, and my friend wisely remarked how we're all just digital cattle (or I might have said that.) When we finally left, I witnessed the same barista approach a young woman of a certain demographic if she would allow herself to be photographed for promotional purposes. That detail did not escape me. Neither my friend nor I were of the "desirable" demographic it seems. As a final note, the décor and ambiance can be described charitably as your high school boyfriend's basement meets beach surf shack tourist trap. There are fake leather chairs that look like they were rescued on trash pickup day. All over the store, they have so many tote bags, colorful bags of their awful bland coffee beans that look half-full, and enamel lapel pins amongst other unnecessary branded junk. Consider yourself warned.

I found this place while shopping in Harlem. Apparently they have many other locations in Midtown. What a nice, cozy tucked away surprise of coffee shop. There are plenty of unique seats inside and out w tables, there's even a set of swings. The gratitude box was nice to sit and take a pause. Service was excellent with Edward who explained everything about the coffee shop and convinced me to buy a chicken empanada. My iced americano was excellent! I never drank from a pouch before. I definitely recommend this coffee shop. Clean bathroom too. Great place to meet a friend, work, or Just relax! Looking forward to coming back soon.

787 Coffee is a reliable Puerto Rican coffee chain scattered over Manhattan. From what I have heard, but have yet to try, the chicken empanadas are also really good. The price point is a bit high, but the quality of the coffee is great. I love having one of their locations near my workplace.

I guess today was an off day because both of the drinks I order was not the best, and for 11 dollars each I was disappointed. I asked if they had sweetener and was told they only have vanilla flavoring. The Tres Leche latte I could barely taste the flavoring but definitely tasted the coffee which was overpowering. My mom felt the same way about her Dulce de leche latte... the empanada was ok, and the danish was great .. would come back but no time soon.

I had some time to kill before lunch and found this lovely cafe nearby. The barista was very friendly and recommended the rum-infused latte. I got it with oat milk. It was over $11, which was not what I expected to pay, but it was tasty and smooth. The shop has a lot of unique blends and snacks for purchase. I also snagged a bite of the banana bread. Tasty! This spot would be a great one to work at or catch up with a friend.

I ordered the dulce de leche iced latte with whiskey, infused coffee beans and it was the bomb.com!! It cost me $11 but was worth every penny. I came back and had the same thing but with rum infused coffee beens and it wasn't good. For the price I was crushed. The service both times were great but I need my coffee consistently good especially at that expensive price.

Dulce de Leche Lattes!

787 Coffee is definitely a must-try cafe, especially for their lattes! I loved the idea of putting iced drinks in little IV bags - the concept is super unique and fun! When I first walked into the location, I adored the vibes - there were plants everywhere, cute enamel pins, t-shirts, totes and a bunch of merchandise for sale in addition to coffee and food. It was well-lit and cozy, and I did see people studying in there, but I also saw that quite a few outlets were being used by lights so I'm not sure how many outlets would be available for a day of studying. Nevertheless, it was very warm and comforting inside and would be a great place to meet up with friends and chat over a drink. I ordered the Dulce de Leche latte, and it was delicious. I loved that the barista showed us the three different kinds of espresso they use (classic, rum-infused, and whiskey-infused) let us smell coffee beans for each roast. Their latte flavors were very unique and enticing - I definitely wanted to try more of them and will probably be back just to explore the menu a little more. I'm a big caramel lover so I gravitated to the Dulce de Leche latte and although the flavor was not super strong, I loved that it had the perfect amount of sweetness and bitterness to it and really think the combination would let the flavored espressos shine through if I tried them. The baristas make the drink and take their time with it, which is a nice contrast from the speed and automaticity that most other cafes make their drinks. It can be a bit of a wait but I was happy knowing that the barista was actually taking their time to make a great drink. My biggest disappointment with this branch is the matcha latte, however. The matcha was whisked in the traditional way, so I had high hopes for it, but in the end, it was too little matcha and way too much milk - I actually felt like I was just drinking milk the whole time. The color was insanely light and I couldn't even taste the matcha, which was super disappointing considering each drink was around $8.00. I would definitely come here for the lattes, but I'm a bit more hesitant to try their non-coffee drinks after the matcha latte. Despite that, I would definitely come back for a coffee and study session here!

I've been to one other 787 location downtown and didn't know there was a location up here until I stumbled on the sign the other day (it's easy to miss otherwise). My barista, who was super friendly and attentive, mentioned that they'd opened up shop about 7 months ago. I was planning to get my usual iced latte, but he convinced me to try the dulce de leche instead. I don't usually go for flavored coffee drinks, but this really hit the spot and felt like an extra treat, without being overly sweet. I took my coffee to go, but there's a decent amount of seating for a small shop, including a table or two outside. As I expected from my visit to another 787, the coffee is great, just pricey. My latte ran me just over $8 before tip, including an upcharge of .75 for oat milk, and .25 for ice. It would have been even a little more expensive, but there's a 5% discount for those who live or work in the neighborhood.

Cozy, well decorated spot. I just wanted a hot cup of coffee but this time not from a bodega. I ended up getting an Americano with oat milk since they don't have regular creamers. Came up to $8 with tip. The drink was ok, not that hot or strong in my opinion though.

I was so pleased to see that the quality is amazing and service is exceptional across the board. Be prepared for a line at this location, since it's close to a lot of tourist attractions. Don't let the line intimidate you though, it goes by super fast. Not a lot of space to sit and eat your food, but you'll get the full on Mexican taco stand experience. Get your drink there and a slip with your food items on it. Take the slip to the next counter where they prepare it. They're masters at it so they're cranking out a taco probably every 15 to 20 seconds. There's a line of workers operating the grills to get the meat and tortillas ready for the prep guys. So efficient. No seats. You stand and eat which really keeps the turn over rate high. The inside is no frills. Standing room only to eat your tacos and exit. The food is so good. $6 a taco but it's NYC. Love everything about this place and I try to frequent it for a quick bite as often as I can.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

The birria tacos were really good (or so my son said) but sadly the taquitos were terrible. They literally just had unseasoned shredded chicken (but serves me right for ordering something so basic). The energy was flat, and that lack of enthusiasm carried right into the food. The menu needs a complete overhaul. I'm not sure if it's trying to be "different," but the taco options were unappealing just from reading the descriptions. I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. It feels like just another restaurant that's lost sight of creating an actual experience for guests. The lack of vibe is obvious--if you don't want customers, just say so. I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall.
