MTA sandwich - grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, bacon and tzaziki sauce on pita. With onion rings.
Yessenia F.

I was looking for a meal to eat in the area, and most places on the block were closed - it was already 9 pm. Lucky for us, this diner is open 24 hours! When I arrived, a lot of tables were being served, so I figured it was going to be a good spot to order food. I was not disappointed! We ordered the cheeseburger deluxe (which comes with fries, pickles, and a small side of cole slaw). We also got one of their sandwich specials, the MTA, which came with grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, and tomato on a pita bread with tzatziki sauce. This sandwich was delicious and filling, but it was a bit dry for my taste despite the tzatziki sauce. Instead of fries, we asked for onion rings. Service was quick and very kind! They kept checking in on us despite how busy it got. The portions were very generous, and the price is just right! I can see why this store is a staple in the Park Slope area. It gives a cute, retro diner vibe. It's homey and clean. I must come back to try their donuts! There was a gentleman who kept coming out of the kitchen with full trays of fresh donuts, and they had such a wide variety!!

It's been so long since I have dined in an actual diner, so when my friend who was visiting from out of town asked me where we can go for a quintessential diner experience, I was completely dumbfounded. We made our way to this establishment and were not disappointed!! This a small little space tucked away on the corner of 7th Ave and 9th St, right across the road from Smiling Pizza. As you enter, the extensive and abundant donut stand greets you. It's quite cozy inside with countertop seats and tables. I went with the veggie omelette and a side of avocado. Our food came out pretty quickly, and I particularly liked the butter toast that was served on the side with the salted butter quietly oozing away in between the slices. My omelette was made well, had the perfect ratio of vegetables. Potatoes tasted good, I was really happy that they weren't super greasy. We also ordered a small stack of two pancakes to share just for that sweet indulgence. The pancakes here I believe, have a little bit of cornmeal in them because they had an interesting texture, which I really liked. You can totally tell this is a classic neighborhood place, lots of local families and people just chilling and relaxing inside enjoying their meal. I love coming into little spots like these that give you a feeling of community. Our server was really nice and on top of everything. I have to come back and try other things on their menu. Come here for a heart breakfast anytime!!

Talk about an awesome late night spot!! Open 24 hours and service was phenomenal. Make sure to bring cash as this is a cash only restaurant. Meals were simple and quickly served. Onion rings were just the right level of crispy. Highly recommend checking this place out for quick food late at night

In a day and age where the very concept of what constitutes a diner seems more muddled in a city with rising rents and therefore menu prices 7th Ave donuts seems to stand out. The interior is exactly what you'd want, some old school vibes. The service is fantastic, not only was our waitress so sweet but the behind the counter people were jovial despite a super busy Saturday. The quality of the food combined with the price sets it even higher up for me. Super solid breakfasts and you can easily be full for less than $11 per person. But why stop there where you can grab a donut on the way out?! The eye grabbing display might remind one of a Dunkin (in the best way possible) but these homemade donuts far outstrip anything mass produced. You simply must go.

This was my second trip here. Last time I had dessert and coffee but this time we had dinner. What a great spot for exactly what you want. The menu has a bit of everything. My son wanted his fries extra crispy and they delivered. He got a grilled cheese with two cheeses as well. The servers are very friendly. The wall mirrors and tiled floors are so cute. I just love 7th Ave. Donuts any time of day or night.

We shared: - Mango Passion Donut - La Donna (Raspberry & Black Currant) Donut - Calamansi Meringue Donut They were all fantastic. I couldn't pick a favorite because I loved them all. I'd say these are in the top 5 donuts that I've ever had. I was trying to have a slight amount of self control, but there were at least 3 more that I wanted to try. If I lived nearby, I'd be here all the time. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

It's colossally big and very, very easy to chew on without needing something hot and wet like coffee or tea. But I do think it would be better with a drink. What I've also noticed is that they really prioritize the decorations on the donuts, and I think that also brings out their peak service. I was served during the Governors Ball where there were a lot of people and a lot of vendors. They handled their service very well. I couldn't tell you the exact location of the place because it was a vendor, but I assume it's probably somewhere I would conveniently go to. I definitely wanna go to the Brooklyn location.

That quickly went in the list of places I had to go to. I'm so glad I did. I went on a Sunday around 10:30am. There was definitely a crowd but it was minimal and organized chaos in a way. I did get the chocolate cake and original glazed with a sugar rise and a few donut holes. Everything was great. I could taste a little oil from being fried, but that's just my preference. Some people are ok with that. But let's talk about that sugar rise donut! Sugar rise was my favorite! When I bite into any donut covered in granulated sugar it better coat my lips like my chapstick. That sugar just sat on my lips as if it was just meant to be there. The staff were amazing. They were working hard getting orders taken and putting orders out. The interior was quaint and clean. Bottled water for $1 is a major win in my book! So thank you for that. Seating is limited. It's tiny in there. Great spot! Hit them up!

The shop has a retro vibe reminiscent of a 1950s diner, offering a wide range of pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast options, making it a beloved local fixture for over 60 years. During a visit to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, I decided to explore the local food scene. As I researched, this donut shop kept coming up as a top favorite among locals. My daughter and I stepped inside, and it was buzzing with activity. The place had a nostalgic feel, and it's a cash-only establishment. There are so many donuts to choose from, but my daughter went with a Red Velvet, while I opted for a Sugar Raise--a classic sugar donut because it was my first time here and I wanted something simple. The donuts were decent. The Sugar Raise wasn't extraordinary, but it was fresh. I gave my daughter's Red Velvet a try, but it didn't quite hit the mark; instead of a subtle cocoa-vanilla flavor, it was pretty heavy on the chocolate. The service was friendly, and I'm glad we took the chance to visit this longstanding bakery, which has been around for more than six decades.

On this visit, I called ahead and asked for salt, pepper, ketchup, but it didn't seem like they added it to my sandwich, unfortunately. I do question their cleanliness at times, but as long as I don't see anything sus, I'll enjoy my food!! Their donuts are always fresh, they take cash only in store, but their donuts are so cheap, but never in quality. Depending on the type of donut you get, it may cost a bit more, but a GREAT price point. This place really is a gem in Brooklyn.

The actual area itself is quite cute, and I like the way the interior was decorated. It has a very minimal vibe, but it really suits the place and the neighborhood. We got an Iced Americano, a Mortadella Scallion Pancake Sandwich, and a cocktail called Lovers Quarrel. The drinks were honestly pretty good and very much needed for the weather. The cocktail had this airy tart taste that perfectly matched the vibe of the drink. The sandwich itself was good, however it was extremely oily. The actual taste of the sandwich reminded me a lot more of Indian Omelets than Scallion Pancakes, but regardless, was still tasty, just wish it had less oil. They typically bring the drinks and food over to your table if you decide to sit at a table, which makes it a lot more convenient. The people working there were also doing an amazing job, so kudos to them. Overall not bad, maybe I might come back when it's cooler for the dessert items.
