Here is the pizza and bread! First time for me and my friend who is visiting LA
    Sylvia M.

First time here and I must say the service was great the ambiance very chill but the pizza and garlic bread were the star of the place! The young man who helped us and cooked the pizza and bread hands up! Thank you for such a great experience I will definitely be returning when I am in LA.

800° has always been a place to get pretty decent, bespoke pizza, made to your specs. The quality of the ingredients has always been very good, and the restaurants have always been clean and comfortable. This is all true at their Vine St. location in Hollywood, but the owner has left the place woefully understaffed, making the experience frustrating. To begin, they have changed their hours but not updated them online or even on their signage at the store -- so we arrived to a locked door, and waited nearly 20 minutes for the place to open. Upon entering, we discovered that there was exactly ONE employee working, a genial and welcoming guy named Marcos, who had to do EVERYTHING: prep the line, make the pizzas, serve the food, hand out drink cups, lids and straws, hand out condiments, and, eventually, clear the tables. Our party was the only one there; perhaps that's some justification for the sparse staff, but if there had been just a few more parties, it would have been chaos. Ordering is done via an iPad, and again, if there had been multiple customers, the back-up would have been exasperating. As to the pizza: it was decent. My son and his friend are vegan, so they built a pie with vegan cheese, onions and Impossible meat. It looked very good, and they said it tasted just fine. My own pie, with sausage, onions and peppers, was also very tasty, and did come well-done as requested. Marcos knows how to make a pizza. So, should you go? Possibly. Depends how busy it is, and whether Marcos has a back-up if there's a crowd. But unless the owner tweaks the system a bit, it'll always be a crapshoot.

The Pizzas were fresh and loaded with flavor, but the restaurant itself was so dirty, especially the bathroom! We ordered the Alla Vodka (smoked bacon, mozzarella, caramelized onions) and Tartufo (mushrooms, garlic, mozzarella, and arugula) pizzas. They were made to order and wood fired, so that was great. The staff who took our orders was very friendly, too. The reason I would not return to this restaurant is because of how dirty it was. While ordering, I noticed huge flies swarming around an open tray of meatballs. The tables weren't wiped either, but we managed to find the cleanest one out of them all. Don't even get me started on the bathroom - you're better off skipping it altogether because of how smelly and filthy it was. It's unfortunate how a restaurant with good food can be a hard miss due to sanitation and cleanliness.

One of my favorite spots to come to after seeing a show or concert nearby. Pizza is always very good and booths are comfortable after a long night. Their ranch is very good and thick too. The man that runs the shop is also friendly and always checking in on people. Love this place and will keep coming back. Thank you!

Got pizza from this place pretty recently and honestly wasn't expecting much. Prices were quite high so I was thinking it better be good. Got just a single slice of the margherita pizza. Surprisingly, it was actually delicious. You can see the pizza being made in the oven and the bottom is nicely crisp and charred (although bordering on burnt). It comes out SUPER hot so be careful. The cheese and sauce (nicely sweet) were both very, very good, and I was surprised by how huge a single slice of pizza was. I think I may have just gotten lucky, though. All in all, very pleasant surprise. I'd recommend the place for a slice or maybe even a whole pie. They get the classics right.

The pizza here was really good! I got the margherita pizza and I loved the crust. I went to the bar upstairs and got pizza afterwards. They close late which is perfect if you want a late night meal.

Still have some food to take home:)

Fred was very kind, hospitable, and made us feel comfortable. The burrata salad, pizzas, and pastas are truly so good. Such a nice little place to go out and eat.

Excellent service by staff, they really go above and beyond. The vodka pasta was sooo good! Glad I stopped by for lunch!

Wow. Husband was craving pizza before the Tyler Childers concert, so I picked this place and WOW. The two employees were so kind and the pizza was AMAZING. the best pizza I've ever had. The Pesto ranch? Floored. A must try!

I love this pizza spot. Pizza is light and cooked perfectly every time. The penne is a newer item on the menu and we added bacon. Honestly i wasn't super impressed and for the price i expected more sauce and more bacon. The bacon was very sparse. However the pizza always hits. Service is fast and there is plenty of indoor seating!

Maccheroni Republic - Life is full of pasta-bilities!…read more So if you know anything about me, you know that I love pasta more than just about anything. While I can only officially claim about 12% Italian heritage, I'm 100% down for Italian food, especially homemade pasta, any day of the week. I'm spending this week in Little Tokyo for a conference, and while Japanese food is also absolutely my jam, when Maccheroni Republic slid into my Yelp feed, I knew that I had to hoof it over there immediately after we broke for the day. I saw the front of the building, and my heart sank because it looked closed, but then I noted the sign that indicated that the entrance is on the right side of the building through the courtyard. Thank goodness! I strutted through the courtyard, and observed about 15 people waiting for tables. Unbothered, I went up to the host stand and chatted with the stylish maitre'd - Dino - who indicated that he could have a table for me in 7-10 minutes. I proceeded to wait and I watched how he deftly sat the other waiting parties in order without difficulty or notes. To the untrained eye, it might have looked a little chaotic, but Dino absolutely knew what he was doing. About 15 minutes later, Dino sat me at a corner deuce in the inside dining room where I had a nice view of everything. Angel efficiently took my order and did a very good job of overseeing my table as well as about nine others. The dining room is so cute and homey, and the patio is a welcome respite from the bustle and business of downtown. Since I was "da sola" or on my own, I just tried the shrimp cakes and I ordered the Rigatoni all Norma which is one of of my go to pasta dishes since I don't eat much meat. Incidentally, this dish is named after Norma, the famous 19th-century opera composed by Catanese native Vincenzo Bellini. According to legend, a famous Sicilian playwright, Nino Martoglio, tried the pasta and was so overwhelmed by its perfection that he exclaimed, "Chista è 'na vera Norma!" ("This is a true Norma!"), comparing the culinary masterpiece to the musical one. So says Wikipedia anyway. The shrimp cakes were delivered quickly by a sweet food runner who kindly checked on me periodically during my dinner. The four shrimp cakes were accompanied by sauteed onions which paired really nicely with the crispy cakes that were brightened with a spritz from the fresh lemon wedge. She also brought a basket with four slices of Italian bread which I enjoyed with the EVOO and Balsamic that were on the table. My Watermelon Ciao was also so good. It was sweetly tart and such a nice treat on a Monday! Not long after I polished off the shrimp cakes, the rigatoni was delivered and dusted with a generous layer of parmigiana. The little fresh mozzarella pearls glistened on the top of the pasta and slowly melted and oozed into the sauce as I stirred it up. Yum! The rigatoni were al dente and delicious, and they were perfectly sauced. Of course, the eggplant was perfectly cooked as well, I only wish there had been a few more pieces of it - although by the time I ate the last noodle, I was so full! Alas, I had no room for dessert, but I intend to bring some of my conference colleagues back for a meal before the end of the week because it was THAT GOOD. I also loved that this place is NOT pretentious at all. There were all sorts of folks enjoying their food here from medical professionals in scrubs to college kids in shorts and t-shirts, and I was also very casually attired, but I was treated well and welcomed with graciousness and delicious food! Mille grazie Maccheroni Republic, Dino, Angel and everyone at this wonderfully lowkey yet fabulous trattoria.

Sitting outside in their back patio was enjoyable, while the indoor dining area is cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Everything looks appealing and well-presented, but unfortunately, much of the food lacked flavor. I ordered the Pappardelle Genovese pasta, and although it looked delicious and had plenty of meat, it was surprisingly bland. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal. Overall, the ambiance, decor, and presentation were better than the food itself. While it's a nice place to visit and enjoy the atmosphere, I probably wouldn't return for the food.

Dropped by on a Saturday evening with my brother, no reservation. I was worried we'd be stuck waiting for an hour or more for a table but we were seated in less than ten minutes, despite the fact that it was a full house. The menu has an interesting assortment of traditional Italian pastas, Japanese classics, and Japanese-Italian fusion dishes. It's not a huge menu, but is just the right size to have a number of dishes I wish I could've tried all at once. I went with the bacon and mushrooms Japanese style sauce, which was a dashi and soy sauce base with bacon and mushrooms and a garnish of grated radish and nori. This was incredibly delicious, unique, and a true blend of Japanese and Italian flavors. The bacon was phenomenal and there was a generous amount on the plate. My brother got the arrabbiata. He asked them to not make it very spicy, but it still had a good kick (I definitely wouldn't have asked for it to be milder, but to each their own). The flavors were rich. And in both dishes, the pasta was cooked perfectly. Dinner comes with a complimentary salad and rolls. Our food came out fast, and our server was friendly. Spicy pomodoro is perfectly al dente and a well-balanced sauce. But, my favorite-- the agnolotti! Wow, melt in your mouth! The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. We came on a Thursday night as a group of four and the place was pretty busy. From everything I've heard, Cento is one of the more popular pasta spots in LA right now, so I was excited to finally try it. We started with the radicchio salad which was delicious. Light, refreshing, and tangy, a great way to start the meal. For pasta, we ordered the Spicy Pomodoro, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Broccoli Bucatini, and the Cavatelli Finocchio. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite because every single one was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and each dish felt unique. My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

I've been going there for quite some time, and I've tried a large portion of the menu, probably a good 90% of it. Everything has been exceptional. Their Carbonara for example, is made properly, without cream, peas, or the other abominations that many restaurants add. "Other restaurants = Take lessons. The ricotta with agave is a lovely Italian Mexican wedding, the pizzas are tasty and so many other dishes are consistently fantastic. They also have a super solid wine selection, and the ambiance is wonderful both on the main floor and in the private dining room. The staff is always super friendly, and you can tell they are well trained and genuinely enjoy working there. That positive energy trickles down to the guests, and it shows by how packed the restaurant always is. Go there on a Monday at 8pm and you'll see what I'm taking about. (Make a rezzy before going is what I am trying to say, otherwise, you might end up waiting for a bit, but it's worth it anyway) I'm getting hungry just writing this review, so I better go "destroy" that Carbonara with a nice glass of Soave Classico (or really, any good Garganega) and enjoy a great chat with the bartenders at Osteria La Buca. This was my second time coming. My first time was dinner with a couple friends. I got a glass of…read morewine and pasta - was good! And service was great! This time we came around their HH time - 3-5. Their whole menu is basically "off" and you can only order from the HH menu (or so that's what it sounded like to me). We sat at the bar, I got a glass of the house white which was delicious and the fries and arancini. Everything was delicious and again- the staff was super wonderful. The place was super clean and the vibes were great! I'm not sure if they have their own parking but there is metered strewn parking along Ventura !

Angelini Osteria is a small elegant space with wooden beams and white walls. From the moment you…read morearrive until it's time to leave, the attentive staff makes you feel like a star. Show up early because this cozy place fills up fast. Lasagna Verde: Nonna Elvira knows exactly how to make the best lasagna. The freshly made pasta is thin and green from spinach. Between the sheets are layers of a fine and smooth beef ragu and bechamel sauce. The bechamel is soft and creamy with a light crust. Hot as lava, the meat and sauce ooze at the edges. Strewn on top and across the plate are fried spinach leaves that are crispy as nori. Parking: There's metered street parking out front. There's also street parking a couple blocks away.

Incredible! $12 valet, cash or venmo. Indoor and outdoor dining - I recommend outdoor!! Great for…read moregroups, let you stay as long as you want, service is SUPERB!!!! Staff were so friendly and incredibly attentive to the smallest details. Music was poppin 80s and 90s tunes around the start of the night. Bonus points for being kid friendly - they even had a high chair! We had a big group of 8 so we ordered family style. Zucchini flowers - This was good!! Stuffed with ricotta and some veggies with this BEAUTIFUL vibrant orange tomato sauce Sausage and mushroom pizza - Yummy pizza but not necessary to order, other spots probably have better! Osteria Chopped Salad - also not super memorable but not bad! Balanced the meal Polipo (octopus salad) - I really liked this!!! Had a nice chargrilled flavor, tasted kinda like chicken! Generous portion Tagliolini Limone - MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!! Incredible!!!! GET THIS! Creamy and almost reminiscent of a comfort mac n cheese or a cacio e pepe but light and lemony! It's why we ordered two! Tagliatelle Bolognese - I only tried a bit of this and probably waited too long since it was a little cold when I tried it, but nice. Not as memorable and kind of bland but the pasta was definitely fresh and al dente Lasagna Verde - Also yummy and fresh but liked the lemon pasta way more Bistecca Fiorentina - HUGE porterhouse steak cut right at the table into two plates worth of meat as well as potatoes and greens. The flaky salt did it all for me!! We ordered this steak medium to appease everyone in the group. Carrot cake - Weird take! Had a chocolate hazelnut filling and didn't taste much carrot, but that doesn't mean it wasn't good Bread pudding - The ice cream was the best part, nice comforting and warm Tiramisu - didn't try but looked delish Wine - great! Listen to whatever the staff recommends They also provide complimentary "bread" but it's more like crispy chips with olive oil and a vegetable couscous kind of dip. Not really my style. This meal was great but if this place had actual bread and butter it would've been even better. Overall great place for a celebration!!! Service is probably the best part of this dining experience and the food is good too. Be prepared to spend over $100pp if you're ordering this much. Would definitely come back!!!

Where they sat us. I don't even understand why they have tables on an incline. Very uncomfortable.
