This is a great skateshop in the middle of town. They have a strong variety of decks as well as options for other action sports you might get into in the area. The shop is run by very knowledgeable staff who actually skate and give great advice. I came in to shop skateboard parts, and they were patient to help explain things. The owners, Kevin and Andrea are also such humble and dow to earth folks. We enjoyed getting to know them. When you shop here, you literally are supporting your local, because proceeds fund the local skatepark and local skate community. First, as soon as you walk in you feel welcomed. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Lilly and Jordan were so sweet. They also know their product! Recently went in to get some ideas for a gift and they had so many suggestions and professional opinions. They carry wide variety of inventory to cater to just about anybody, including for people that don't have interest in boarding. Super cute apparel for both males and females, jewelry, candles, car air fresheners, (that actually smell really good), sunglasses and more! Great quality items for really great prices! Passing by I saw some boards on the sidewalk, one looked my size and they were on sale. My son recently got a soft top board and is learning to surf. He told me I needed a board so I went down to purchase the board I saw. The sales staff was very helpful. There was a young woman and young man at the counter. They made the experience very easy and fun. He got the board and put the fins on for me and she helped me find the right size leash and tallied up my bill. The board was a great deal and it is a lot of fun. She also showed me that they resale wetsuits and give you a credit for your old one towards a new one. This will come in handy as my son is 12 and growing rapidly. It can be intimidating to go in the surf shop but they made the experience easy and fun. Great attitudes and supportive. The promise of return with receipt is not honored or true, it is not Honored with receipt in hand you will be turned away from a store, credit or a return. The receipt should list with all tags. Intact, it doesn't matter if you have a receipt or if you are A. Loyal customer even if the person who sold it to you remembers, selling it to you says I can't return this or give you a store. Credithis has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will be taking my business elsewhere. So sad that I have to leave my Hometown to shop and that the money's that I spend monthly will no longer be going back into the economy of my small town. I'm being forced to the big cities to purchase my items. We are established Atascadero residents with deep roots in our community. We are Atascadero small business owners as well. Today My husband and I visited 805 BoardShop to return an item we purchased as a Christmas gift. With receipt in hand, and definitely within the "30 day return window" we were turned away without the option of a return or store credit. The snobbish customer service boy was short and very unsupportive of our return inquiry. Apparently if the merchandise "Tags" that accessorize the attire are not returned with the clothing, 805 BoardShop will NOT honor ANY in store credit or return. This is completely absurd and uncommon business practice. Has gentrification begun with 805 BoardShop? Is our small, tight knit community becoming a "Hypercenter" with big city return rules? My family typically spends upwards of two to three hundred dollars a month at 805 BoardShop. My family is involved in local surf camps and skateboarding functions. We always recommend our local Surf/Skate shop when our friends fly in to catch waves during spring/summer. As of today, we are disappointed in 805 BoardShop. We feel swindled and shocked by 805 BoardShop. Unfortunately my family will begin to shop at a local competitor. Moondoggie's in San Luis Obispo offers a guilty free return policy and Moondoggie's would never treat hardworking local Americans in this fashion. I use to really like this shop they have great sweaters, gear, shoes but till today i had a strange experience i was looking around at multiple thing and i had a pair of sock in my hand well i was looking around one of the staff took the socks and said will hold these up front for you. I was kinda surprised because they never had me bring merchandise to the front. i felt rushed and untrusted and I didn't feel like buying anything else after that happen. I walk to the front right after she had took them i bought them. I understand theft is a problem. but I was one of the only people in the store at the time. I've bought multiple shoe at one time before and never did they take them to the front and that was several hundred dollars. the socks were 25 dollars and they didn't trust me holding them. so I'm sharing my experience and felt uncomfortable, and push to hurry. This is my new fav surf shop!! I stopped in for a last minute Father's Day gift and was quickly and enthusiastically welcomed in by Lily and Jake. They were so helpful and personable. Very lovely staff, and such a great selection of product too!!! I'm used to the unbothered staff of surf shops in SLO and Pismo, so I was surprised by how eager the employees were to chat with the customers. I ended up buying more stuff than I intended because of how lovely they were. read more

Stopped in here today to see if I could get a fair priced beginner board that would be more practical than my penny board as well as some new grip tape for my penny board. They had hand sanitizer at the door and the owner was wearing a mask. The owner was very helpful and didn't make me feel inferior for not being super knowledgeable about skateboards and also being a woman, which is something I usually get anxiety about when I go to skate shops. All of their prices were really great and they gave me an awesome deal on all the parts which was amazing. Also got some free stickers! Bonus! Overall went beyond what I was expecting and I will be recommending that my friends go here next time they need anything. read more

Such a cool shop. Wesley helped my son Set-Up his new deck with the right components to meet his needs. He asked questions and offered up exactly what we needed. Lots of great gear and clothes. Decent prices and good quality products. When it came time for the brain bucket, he suggested we head up to A-Town Skate Park (same owners) to get a better selection which made sense we at the shop post-Holiday craziness. A+ service, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Loves all the "old" boards on the wall, even saw my old Vision board, flooding my mind with memories. We will definitely be back! read more

Went in to get the axles on my trucks rethreaded. The kid didn't know how to rethread an axle and recommended that i buy new trucks. His attempt to rethread the axle was hard to watch. he put the die on the top of the axle, then started twisting the skate tool, every 1/3 of a turn a handle on the skate tool would hit the board which caused the die to wobble out of place until the handle cleared the board. after about 4 cring-worthy turns he came to the conclusion that the axles are too jacked up and I need new trucks. I ended up taking the board to CCS in slo and had it done properly there. In their defense, the owner wasn't there and maybe I just got some unmotivated kid working the front on a slow day. That being said this is a review of my experience and as a customer I was not left with a good impression of their customer service. read more
