I have been here twice in the last few days. I purposely waited for that "new spot shine" to wear off before I even attempted to go and I must have picked a good day because there was no line. My daughter and grabbed a tray and perused the pastry section extensively. There first day we went there was an abundance of pastries for us to chose from. The second day however was picked over and the shelves were scare. The first day we were able to get the jalapeño and cheese pastries, the bacon, egg and cheese roll, the matcha rolls, a coffee croffin, cheese breads, strawberry danishes and even an egg tart for the hubby. We also got a Vietnamese coffee and a matcha with boba. Everything was delicious! The second time around I was on a mission for the Vietnamese coffee since I'd been craving one since the day prior, and we were only able to grab a few of the cheese breads and a couple of the berry muffins. The staff has strict 85 Degrees corporate training, the service is top notch. The pastries are high quality and consistent. For those who are not familiar, the first part is a dizzying choice of pastries you can take and put it on a tray. Just eat with your eyes. If it looks good, grab one. Everything there is good, you cannot go wrong. Around the register is another massive glass case with cold pastries. Asian pastries tends to use more fruit, and lighter on the cream and sweetness. There is a full service drink bar you can order drinks when you check out. My wife and I a both obsessed with their tarot buns and sea salt coffee. I used to drive far to get their coffee and pastries so I was very delighted to have 85 Degree Bakery in town. I think that their coffee is always amazing - hot or cold, I don't think you can ever go wrong. And their baked goods are always delicious, nothing too sweet and always aesthetically pleasing. Price-wise, they are very reasonable too. The only thing with this location I have noticed is that there are less choices than their other counterparts, let's say their Vegas location. It is such a refreshing change from traditional American bakeries. Since they specialize in Taiwanese baked goods, everything is incredibly soft, airy, and best of all, not overly sweet. Came on a Tuesday morning and got a pastry and Vietnamese coffees. Line was short but also the shelves still seemed low stock so not sure what was going on, the first time I figured a big rush but a second time in the morning it seemed strange to me they didn't have more items out. We asked for low ice and regular ice for our drinks, but they were both the same amount of ice. Sat at one of the inside tables, there is just a few, I think they could use more. Parking is at marketplace. I tried the brown shaken iced coffee (ordered a medium) and it was delicious! I tried the jalapeño cheese bread which was toasted on the outside but super soft inside. all the baked goods are individually wrapped and surprisingly were super soft. Ordering: you order your drinks on the tablet then you go around choosing your baked goods then pay at the counter. Service was speedy as I went around 9:30am and there was no line outside. Love that we finally have an 85 here in Bakersfield! Managed to come here for the slow time. I know they are newly opened, but I hope it gets big enough to expand on their larger menu, They still have a lot of their classics though, like the Berry dream and the hotdog breads. Overall best bakery I've ever been to. They have a line out the door and take it 10 ppl at a time, the cakes, breads, cookies, everything tastes amazing! They also have specialty coffees also on par. Only downside side is it's a little pricy and you'll want to put in the fridge anything your not eating fresh, but it won't last more than 3 days in the fridge before the freshness and fluffiness taste goes away so don't over buy and just get yourself a treat to maximize the experience. I'm so excited that Bakersfield finally has an 85° Bakery! The lines aren't as long as they were during the soft and grand opening, so I've finally made my way in. This location is pretty big. There's lots of seating and kiosks available to order drinks. I'm a fan of all of their pastries, but this time I came for a larger order. I got one of their 8in cakes for my brother's birthday. I had to come as soon as possible with this new cafe in Bakersfield. A hour long wait to get inside , but it was worth it. Walking inside , you pick a tray and choose as much pastries as you want. Then getting in line , I managed to also order an 85C coffee which I highly recommend. Ordering drinks are on their tablet by the line, so it's super easy to order. Everything came out to 25 bucks which is pretty great pricing. The service is top tier, they're all working fast and still keeping a smile on. I had heard about this place and had been wanting to try it since it opened last month. My wife and I visited on a Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. There was already a line out the door, and they were only allowing a limited number of customers inside at a time. The main reason we came was to try the coffee. I was a little disappointed to learn that the only milk alternatives available were soy and oat milk. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk since almond milk was not offered. I also wanted to add cinnamon and honey, but neither was available. Although they did not have my preferred options, the coffee itself tasted good. However, it was served extremely hot, and I had to wait quite a while before I could drink it. My wife ordered a hot matcha latte, also with oat milk because almond milk was unavailable. Unfortunately, it seemed that the milk had not been steamed properly, as she described the drink as lukewarm and nearly cold. This highlighted a noticeable inconsistency in the temperature of their hot beverages. It also would have been nice to have a separate line for customers who were only purchasing coffee, as opposed to those ordering food.
