When it comes to bakeries, I'm used to traditional American baked goods or French bakeries. I saw this place and wanted to try it- a Taiwanese rooted bakery with many international dessert- a little from all over! And the coffee bar is superb and drinks made to order. You can purchase individual items, whole cakes, loaves of bread, savory items, there are over 50 unique foods to buy. The prices are the lowest I've seen for a bakery and coffee shop. It's a cute modern spot with tables to dine or sip on your drink. I loved how they put a Bakersfield landmark as part of the decor! So not useto a menu being more affordable in these times. Came on a Tuesday morning and got a pastry and Vietnamese coffees. Line was short but also the shelves still seemed low stock so not sure what was going on, the first time I figured a big rush but a second time in the morning it seemed strange to me they didn't have more items out. We asked for low ice and regular ice for our drinks, but they were both the same amount of ice. Sat at one of the inside tables, there is just a few, I think they could use more. Parking is at marketplace. I tried the brown shaken iced coffee (ordered a medium) and it was delicious! I tried the jalapeño cheese bread which was toasted on the outside but super soft inside. all the baked goods are individually wrapped and surprisingly were super soft. Ordering: you order your drinks on the tablet then you go around choosing your baked goods then pay at the counter. Service was speedy as I went around 9:30am and there was no line outside. They have indoor seating and perfect for a coffee date with a friend. It does get busy depending on what time you stop by. They even have cheesecakes available so much to choose from. read more

Very happy to have an 85 here in Bakersfield! I used to have to buy a ton in LA to have breakfast for the week. Cheap pastries, great coffees, and gives you the confidence that everything's fresh. I love everything about this place and I'm glad it's getting the attention it deserves. I do wish it had more options with protein, I prefer my baked goods savory! First time trying this place out. I waited a bit after their opening because the line was crazy long. The bakery is self.serve on most baked items but they also have a huge selection of drinks you can order at the register. Today we went early and mostly everything was in stock. There was so many different breads, cakes or cookies to choose from. I brought my friend along who had already tried some items so she pointed out some must haves. I liked that there was a variety of savory and sweet items but bummed I didnt see any gluten free items available. I tried all the breads when I got home and have to say of the 5 bought today the ones that were amazing was the Coffee Cruffin amd the Chocolate Croissant. Dont get me.wtong everything was wonderful but those were the flavor surprises. There is seating inside for those wishing to enjoy their yummy There. Overall best bakery I've ever been to. They have a line out the door and take it 10 ppl at a time, the cakes, breads, cookies, everything tastes amazing! They also have specialty coffees also on par. Only downside side is it's a little pricy and you'll want to put in the fridge anything your not eating fresh, but it won't last more than 3 days in the fridge before the freshness and fluffiness taste goes away so don't over buy and just get yourself a treat to maximize the experience. I hope they upgrade their app so you can pre-buy your goodies and check in when you're there to skip the line and have a worker bring out your order. Outside of that, excellent bakery! read more

The space looks amazing and I think the location being one of the shops at the marketplace was a good idea. I was thinking either there or at Riverwalk. I'm so excited that Bakersfield finally has an 85° Bakery! The lines aren't as long as they were during the soft and grand opening, so I've finally made my way in. This location is pretty big. There's lots of seating and kiosks available to order drinks. I'm a fan of all of their pastries, but this time I came for a larger order. I got one of their 8in cakes for my brother's birthday. It was convenient that I could just pick one up instead of having to preorder cuz I didn't have a designated time that I'd be able to stop by. As always, it was very delicious! Where to begin.!? I gave this place 4 starts simply for how STRONG the coffee was. I ordered a caramel macchiato to be safe and to my surprise it didn't taste sweet at all , instead it tastes like coffee ! In a good way... it woke me up like nothing else I've had. For that I will return ... now customer service is very mid. Workers don't smile , they don't look happy overall. Not a good look. They were out of most of their pastries so I didn't get any. I had to come as soon as possible with this new cafe in Bakersfield. A hour long wait to get inside , but it was worth it. Walking inside , you pick a tray and choose as much pastries as you want. Then getting in line , I managed to also order an 85C coffee which I highly recommend. Ordering drinks are on their tablet by the line, so it's super easy to order. Everything came out to 25 bucks which is pretty great pricing. The service is top tier, they're all working fast and still keeping a smile on. Our favorite pastries are the Premium Milk, Coconut Twist, and the Blueberry tart! We will definitely be coming again! read more

Tried the Bakersfield location the first time this morning and it was wonderful! No long line, service was prompt, and everything we bought was delicious I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee and it was awesome! I had heard about this place and had been wanting to try it since it opened last month. My wife and I visited on a Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. There was already a line out the door, and they were only allowing a limited number of customers inside at a time. The main reason we came was to try the coffee. I was a little disappointed to learn that the only milk alternatives available were soy and oat milk. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk since almond milk was not offered. I also wanted to add cinnamon and honey, but neither was available. Although they did not have my preferred options, the coffee itself tasted good. However, it was served extremely hot, and I had to wait quite a while before I could drink it. My wife ordered a hot matcha latte, also with oat milk because almond milk was unavailable. Unfortunately, it seemed that the milk had not been steamed properly, as she described the drink as lukewarm and nearly cold. This highlighted a noticeable inconsistency in the temperature of their hot beverages. It also would have been nice to have a separate line for customers who were only purchasing coffee, as opposed to those ordering food. Overall, our experience was a bit disappointing, to say the least. read more

I'm gonna go try once they open in the morning hoping they have more variety as I don't know if they ran out or don't carry everything. Their sea salt coffee is something I always get, and their Bakersfield location has kept the same yummy caffeinated quality. Their staff was kind and service was quick. Although, you can expect a bit of a wait to get inside because there's always a line for getting inside the bakery. The inside was slightly different than what I'm used to cause they actually have a dedicated dine in area. I liked the indoor seated section cause you can sit inside during the Bakersfield heat and enjoy your beverage and pastries. They have figured out a system that allows 10 people in at a time that way the bakers & employees have time to restock before the next batch of customers. This is only their soft opening for the next few weeks so items are limited but still plenty to choose from! The pastries are beautiful & warm no matter the time of day you go. That said, they open at 9 and it's in the best interest of the shopper to arrive before doors open. The wait is well worth the experience. read more

Had a special buy 1 get 50% off 1: somehow I went 0-8 on not selecting the top 15 qualifying items...lol that was on me I guess. I asked the cashier if these items are apart of the deal as I was I signing up for the app. Of course she put no effort in considering the matter. My wife asked me to grab her a special matcha coffee because the promotional pen... as I was grabbing my drink I asked the barista if they had pens for the matcha special. Her and the other barista looked at each other and point to the cashier who is checking out people by herself and say I have to ask her. Me not wanting to go and disrupt the line ask the young baristas if they can ask. The baristas go silent and just point... so I have to go back and disrupt the cashier workflow as she goes ask the manager while the young baristas are nervously laughing. Of course it was a no on the Promo pen. Just exceptionally bad service & overall customer experience that speaks to the entire company with non existent promos that your employees are completely oblivious to. So happy to have 85C in Bako now! Their strawberry sea salt green tea is a favorite as is their chocolate sea salt drink. So good! Their egg tarts are delicious and keeps me coming back to get them and try their other amazing pastries, cookies, and cakes. Gotta try them all eventually! The employees are all so kind and helpful. Honestly, I hate leaving bad reviews for local businesses, but I was really disappointed with the customer service here. It was my first time ordering, the self ordering machine's menu picture showed an iced coffee so I clicked on it, but somehow the order came out hot. I politely explained that I never drink hot coffee and asked if there was anything they could do, even offering to pay extra if needed. Instead of trying to help, the barista seemed annoyed and said there was nothing they could do. She ended up just filling the hot coffee with bunch of ice, which melted immediately and made the drink taste watered down. I only took one sip it tested like water, so I just threw it away. Mistakes happen, especially with first-time customers, but good customer service is about trying to make things right. I just wish the experience had been handled with more care and kindness. Even though I don't really like Starbucks coffee, one thing they do well is make sure customers are happy they're willing to remake your drink multiple times until it's right. I live right in front of this café, so it could have easily been my everyday coffee spot. read more
