Dagny's is probably my favorite coffeeshop in Bakersfield. I love the actual space and the atmosphere there. It's a large and open shop with a variety of seating options; cafe tables, old couches, random chairs. They also have a very long patio with tons of outdoor seating. There is an eclectic and vaguely punk sort of vibe. It's clean and welcoming, but not overly polished. It's comfortable and inviting. Feels like an old-school coffeeshop from the 90s. The people who work there are also super friendly and happy to answer questions. There coffee is great and I love both the hot and cold options. The most recent time I was there I had an iced coffee and a pretty decent breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, and bacon on an everything bagel. It was tasty and came out quickly. The bacon was chopped up into the egg, which I liked. They also recently started selling these incredible cinnamon rolls from a local bakery called Just Cinnamon. It happened to be a Friday the last time I was there so I brought a caramel pecan roll home to share with my wife. We loved it! Dagny's has great coffee, good breakfast options, and an awesome space for hanging out. I really enjoy sitting there to read or work remotely. read more

This place is a local legend. It is a rustic coffee shop on a downtown corner. It is the unofficial creator's meet up spot. They backroom has been used by many photography groups for meet ups. I saw my photo on a magazine cover for the first time in my life here, of course I stole that magazine and I still have it. The barista is cool and sweet. She got my order quickly and it was so well made. I got a oat milk latte. It was bitter, it was sweet, comes in an unassuming cup with a wild texture. I wind up talking to an interesting lady who turned out to be a fellow photographer. Always a fun time at Dagny's. read more

I hate to admit that Dagny's is a little bit overrated. Their coffee is okay, service is good, but I think what makes Dagny's desirable is the ambiance. It's a chill coffee shop. Like before Starbucks became what it is. It's best to come in early when it's slow and comfortable. read more

My boyfriend showed me this little hidden gem downtown. It's a cute older coffee shop. I got a breakfast bagel, coffee cake , iced chai, and a strawberry shake. While waiting , there's another room to sit and relax in. They have books, magazines , and board/card games. It also seems like a great place to study. They brought us our items which is so sweet. I mainly got the food for my mom, and she said it was amazing. The chai was great too and refreshing. The strawberry drink eeehhh I tasted a lot of syrup. Could of been better. I've heard quite a bit about Dagny's and admittedly had high expectations. This coffee shop has a relaxed, casual atmosphere and the coffee is genuinely good. I had heard good things, but had never went myself. It seems like there are quite a few regulars, which is wonderful, but as a first time patron, my friend and I felt a little looked over by the obviously tight knit but apparently laid-back environment. I am glad I checked it out and was very pleased with my Americano. I did have to remind the staff that my friend was still waiting on her drink about 12-15 minutes after we ordered it and observed several other people receiving their drinks . That was a little frustrating, especially when the cashier seemed a little irritated by bringing this to his attention and offered no apology or explanation. I don't hold that one experience against the place and plan on going back sometime soon. read more

I've heard of Dagny's being great reliable coffee spot, but it was okay. I got a Caramel macchiato with oat milk and my sister got a mocha. We both let the barista know we liked our coffee on the sweet side, but this did not appear in the drink . Although if you like stronger coffee you will like this place. I love how chill and unassuming the place is. We saw a lot of students on their laptops, friends catching up, and we just went for a quick Sunday coffee date. They also have some pastries/desserts that we were not able to try since we were full but their coffee was good. Nothing very unforgettable but definitely tasted good and not watered down. I love how people can stay as long as they want without feeling being rushed. It may look outdated but I don't know but it seems to work. One of the few coffee shops that are open on a weekend afternoon. Definitely a plus. read more

Went out for a morning walk with friends during break and came to this coffee shop. This is my first time here. A good selection of hot and cold drinks. Glad to see iced matcha latte on the menu. Was reading some of the precious reviews and some said theirs were watered down, etc. Mine was perfectly made. You can tell a good matcha latte when the drink doesn't have too much settled particles at the bottom. Got mine with oat milk and 2 pumps of non-flavored syrup. It was perfect and got me through my 2-hour morning meeting. Seems like a chill ambiance with plenty of seating. Due to location, it does attract some transients in the area. Some windows were boarded up with wood so I'm guessing recent break-ins from the lot. But hey, even more reason to help support small businesses once in a while even if just popping in and out for a drink. read more

Came here to kill time before my friend and i's next plan for the evening. I ordered an iced matcha latte and i was asked if i'd like to add any sweetener and the worker listed out my options and i went ahead with Vanilla. My drink tasted really good! And I love me a good matcha. So i was very content and satisfied. I also loved how theres a shelf filled with games and books on it! It truly added to the cafe vibe of the place, but I wish it was placed in a more noticeable section. I only noticed it when i was on my way to the bathroom. My friend and I played one of the board games and it was so fun and time really flew by quick. This has become a regular spot for morning meetings and reunions after a long work week. The perfect spot for both a quiet morning brew and a study session. Aside from having a very nice selection of various coffee, tea and smoothies, they also offer pastries and sandwiches. While I've only yet tried the coffee, I'm sure I'll be returning very soon to indulge the other various menu items as well. I was in the downtown area of Bakersfield with my husband and stopped in. Dagny's is a nice coffee shop that offers a variety of beverages--hot, cold, blended, alcoholic. There are desserts available as well as a small menu. There was one barista working behind the counter so there was a little bit of a wait and he apologized for this. Similar to Starbucks, your name is asked for upon your order but our names were not taken, I suppose given the crowded atmosphere. The place is clean and gives quaint, quirky vibes. Can't lie i'm so full and was feeling pretty weak because I haven't ate all day and when I saw the portions I thought I was gonna have to order more, let me tall yall it will fill you up! I got the Veggie Fritatta, and a chocolate chip banana bread with a blended mint mocha with oat milk. F I R E!!!! I would say the only thing is I wish they has some salt or pepper or making some hot sauce packets for the fritatta bc thats the only thing it would've needed honestly. This is a very interesting coffee shop located in downtown Bakersfield. You see just about every age group of life here. Seems like occasionally a homeless person will come in ; and the workers or security will have to make sure they leave. A lot of selections for drinks; but not much for food/ pastry wise. Was hoping for a scone ; but they didn't have them. Ordered a hot chocolate, which was good. Shared a breakfast sandwich with my friend; originally they gave it to us not warm or cut in half; had to ask them to do that for us. Much better after the cheese was melted and the sandwich was warm; a lot tastier too. This place has a weird smell to it ; maybe a can of air freshener or a window open would do the trick. read more

This a great spot to drop by to meet up with friends or coworkers or to do some work. I enjoyed the rustic interior design which made it feel comfortable. This was my second time being here and I just discovered there is a larger seating area on the left side lol. I had a latte and it was delicious and coffee tasted great. The second time I had a matcha latte and it was a bit watered down I wasn't a big fan. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and it was really good for only $2! My son and I were picking up his laptop from Swat PC. He had been bugging me for a coffee drink so I took him over to Dagny's, which neither of us had ever tried before. Wow! What a quaint and unique spot! Delicious looking items are displayed at the ordering counter... maybe another time. He ordered the blended mint chip mocha and I had a blended mudslide which I think was latte with caramel sauce and toffee ... both blended drinks were topped with housemade whipped cream. I like to try little holes in the wall or something different than normal, but I was pretty disappointed with this place. We were on our way down South and stopped because of their reviews and menu on Yelp. They only have three menu items, but both the sausage casserole and veggie frittata sounded great to me. Unfortunately, they were out of both of those things. We had to order three of their breakfast bagel sandwiches, which took 20 minutes for them to make. We were forewarned, and decided to wait, but why does it take so long to make a simple bagel sandwich?? Also, you have three things on your menu, how are you out of two of them? Prior to ordering my coffee, I asked if they have stevia and the man who was helping us said that they had everything at the end of the counter-- they did not, in fact, have stevia. read more

Dagny's is one of those old schools coffee shops...or dare I say vintage?! You know, those that don't have to have all the fluff, neon signs, and all the other "trendy" things that all the new coffee shops have. Dagny's has all the aspects that makes a good coffee shop: -great baristas -countless syrup flavors and -leather couches. YES, that really makes a difference! Ambiance is very artsy and laid back. Service was quick and friendly. Their syrup selection is impressive, really! I wish to see more "in-house" signature concoctions that are specific to Dagny's but hey, I may be the only one who likes those. If I didn't have a brunch buffet lined up I would have ordered the entire sausage egg quice thingy because it was looking at me looking at it with hungry eyes. They also have YEAR ROUND pumpkin spice latte and I can order it here without any shame being out on me. The couch almost ate me as I sunk into it with my morning mimosa.
