Just found out this location will be closing permanently on 12/19/25 due to rent being too high. So sad to see it go since this was the first 85 in San Diego to open. But a worker did say they're planning on opening a new location somewhere off Convoy sometime in 2026. But for now the closest ones to me will be in the UTC mall and in Mira Mesa.

Always a solid choice for cheap but tasty Asian baked goodies. Love the variety!! Lots of parking.

Mango peach bubbly and yuzu lavender bubbly

After eating Chef Jun(highly recommend) we decided to get something to drink and ordered a mango peach bubbly and a yuzu lavender bubbly. Wife was a little disappointed that they didn't have any egg tarts, but they was closing soon and only had two people working so she was understanding. My wife loved her drink choice and I loved mine! The bubbly is similar to a soda, but the mango peach had little pieces of mango at the bottom. I hope it's healthier than drinking a soda. I just watched a Tik Tok of a cardiologist saying soda is one of the leading causes of heart attacks. That spooked me a bit because I LOVE soda. It is one of the joys of my day having a soda. I have been trying to cut down though or replace with tea or sparkling water. They also recommend diet and exercise so going to go walk the dog and do a workout that chat gpt suggested to gain a 6 pack.

I love this bakery ! The prices are amazing. The quality of the food is even better. The caramel coffee smoothie is delicious. I've always had good fast service here. I highly recommend stopping by and giving them a try!

I often come to this 85 location to get my Sea Salt Jasmine green tea drink. It's a hit or miss depending on who's making the drink. Not the cleanest location I've been to either. But that's not the problem with my visit today. Why advertise on the app as well as your TVs about a promo if you guys are not going to honor it? "Free cookie with purchase of ANY sea salt drink." When I ordered my drink and scanned the app, I asked about the promo and the cashier said only included for sea salt coffee. That's not what the app or tv in their store said, and I even showed her the promo details that's listed. She goes and asks someone in the kitchen and comes out with the same response, refusing to honor the promo even with three giant trays of cookies behind the register. I wasn't going to make a scene at 9am over a cookie, and to a cashier who's only following orders. But whoever is managing this place needs to read up better on details of their promotions and inform their team better. Don't advertise stuff if you refuse to honor it and basically scam your customers just to boost your own sales.

Service was fast and friendly. Red velvet was good also had the strawberry cake. Good flavor but not my favorite frosting texture. Girlfriend loved the salted caramel tea she had. Almost didn't make it out of the parking lot.

Got three drinks two salted iced green teas and then a salted ice caramel coffee all three drinks were 75 percent full. I know this because of the spacing and how the salted foam normally touches the plastic top, I just want what I payed for nothing more and nothing less.

"Fresh bread!!!" I hear that in my head every time I see an employee bringing out a tray of baked goods from the back. Unfortunately they don't shout that any longer. At least not at this location. I'm actually updating my review from 2015! Man time flies... that means 85 Degree Bakery has been here for at least 8 years! They have a nice selection of pastries, breads, cakes, tea, and coffee. They have a lot of variety, I think most everyone will find something they like. Some of my favorite breads are the Brioche, Chocolate Croissant, Marble Taro Bread, Taiwanese Boroh Danish, and Guava Cheese Strudel. Everything tastes nice and fresh. As far as coffee, I like their Sea Salt Caramel Ice Coffee. The milk tea with boba is okay, but I prefer Bei Yuan or other places for tea. The cakes are good. They have so many different kinds. I like the Mango Creme Brulee and Black Forrest cakes. You can order a whole cake or by slice. They have indoor and outdoor seating here. Some of their seating is in need of replacing, but that can be expected after being open for over 8 years. This place is usually clean. Parking is not a problem here. Service is usually good, the employees are usually friendly. I can't ever remember having a bad experience here. They also have a self serve kiosk for drinks, which is convenient. I'm still a fan after all these years! 4 / 5: Bread and Cakes 3.75 / 5: Drinks 4 / 5: Cleanliness 4 / 5: Service 4 / 5: Overall

If you're ever in the area in the morning...please consider stopping here to grab a pastry (or three) and an iced coffee (big drink menu). They have a nice array of pastries and only a few of them were fully empty. If it's empty, you could ask them if they are making more in the back and how long it would take. Sometimes the only difference could be minutes from when you walk in! If they don't have it until a while-- try something new. My cousin raves about the savory pastries and while I enjoy sweet ones in the morning...sometimes trying new things will surprise you! It was clean, not super busy, and bright inside. They were missing the tongs, but everything is packaged in bags already so I think it's ok. We had clean and dry trays which was nice. My mom got the coconut twist with silvered almonds which was baked to golden perfection with a beautiful glaze on top. My premium milk bun was big, fluffy, and topped with an abundance of powdered sugar. The inside was filled with white chocolate that wasn't too sweet. This bun would taste delicious with (salted cream) coffee! The only thing is that the bag they packaged it in-- possibly had tiny holes but I'm not sure why this bag was chosen because it got the powdered sugar everywhere on me.

The Viet coffee was delicious. The cakes are where they shine. Love the taro desserts. The service was good. Grab a tray and just grab pastries, and go to order at the counter. This is a quick service sort of place, great for bdays. I was grateful they had candles and a little chocolate birthday sign. We thoroughly enjoyed the cake. The place got packed quickly.

85 Degrees bakery had so many Asian inspired selections! Their mango cake was so delicious, fluffy and richly flavored! Not really meant for sitting but plenty of outdoor seating at this mall or great to go!

I was looking for a dessert /coffee shop and found this place! OMG!! I was like a kid in a candy shop! lol I ordered an Iced Jasmine tea with salt foam and my husband ordered a hot Oolong tea. I enjoyed my drink until it was just the foam. Maybe next time I'll order without the foam. I also purchased a mango custard. It was pleasing to the eyes, such a beautiful dessert and yummy! I also purchased a taro bun. That was good too!! The cashier ( Bee) was very nice and friendly and who recommended the Jasmine tea drink. I will return to try other drinks on the menu! This is also a good place to pick up some desserts to share as well!

One of my favorite bakeries with a great variety of Asian pastries and cakes! They sometimes are low in stock in the afternoon so make sure to go early. My favorite is the pineapple bolo bread and the cream filled buns are usually good, not too sweet, and are full with filling. The cinnamon twist and guava strudel are really good too. Their drinks are pretty good as well with my favorite being the strawberry mango smoothie which was perfectly sweet, creamy and refreshing! I also tried the new iced toffee latte and it was okay, a bit too strong for me and not sweet enough.

I ordered the Island Girl Coffee, a macadamia latte, and asked for it less sweet. To me, it tasted very similar to a flavored hazelnut latte from Starbucks. Even with reduced sweetness, it was still sweeter than I prefer and had a slightly artificial flavor. If you enjoy flavored Starbucks-style coffee, you'll probably like it, but it's just not my personal preference. I actually didn't finish my drink because the flavor wasn't for me. That said, the cashier was very sweet, and the dessert display looked beautiful and tempting. While the coffee didn't win me over, I'd still come back to give their desserts a try since they looked much more appealing than the drink I ordered. Overall, a nice spot with friendly service, but next time I'll be skipping the flavored coffee and trying one of the desserts instead.

Its a small bakery but conveniently in lion market and next to a tesla charger! Cashier is quick and easy. However, the atmosphere, I don't feel like im in Paris or anything and I went to Paris as a kid! Lol! This place has good pastries and variety!

One of my Yelp friends made a post about $3 medium drink rewards this past week for Paris Baguette…read morerewards members, and when I checked my account dashboard, I saw that I had two such rewards: $3 Latte or Macchiato and $3 Matcha or Chai. I just so happened to pass by this Paris Baguette while visiting Kearny Mesa, and since I was getting thirsty, I decided to stop in and see what drink I could get. Unlike the other Paris Baguette locations close to where I reside, this Paris Baguette is actually located inside Zion Market on Clairemont Mesa Blvd right off the 163 freeway. It's kind of like Tous Les Jours embedded inside Hmart where it'd be impossible to stop by the bakery without first entering the grocery store. There were a couple of customers waiting to order, and then when it was my turn, the cashier (Isabella?) went to make some drinks. They seemed short-staffed because it took her a couple of minutes to get to me, though she did acknowledge my presence and said she'd be with me in "just a second" even though it took way more than a second lol. At least I had ample time to peruse the menu. At first, I was planning to get an Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte, whose regular price for a medium size would be $6.50. However, I noticed another TV that was showing the seasonal drinks. I was getting annoyed by that TV because it kept flipping back and forth between two different screens, which really hampered my decision-making process. The screens would change at random times, so I hastily came to a decision of the Iced Caramel Apple Matcha Latte, though I wasn't totally sure if either reward would work on that specialty latte. When Isabella was ready to take my order, she did confirm the Iced Caramel Apple Matcha Latte would qualify for the $3 reward, but then I had to ask which reward? Since it was a matcha drink, it could have worked for "$3 Matcha or Chai", but since it was also a latte drink, it could have also worked for "$3 Latte or Macchiato". Surely, Paris Baguette could have been a little less ambiguous about which reward such a drink would qualify for, especially since "Chai Latte" is also a drink they offer. I showed Isabella both rewards, and she determined that the Iced Caramel Apple Matcha Latte would work for the "$3 Matcha or Chai" reward. I had noticed that the drink was listed as $7.99 on the menu, but it actually rang up as $6.99 at the register. My goal was to get the most expensive drink that would qualify for either $3 reward, and $7.99 was the highest price tag I saw; there easily could have been another $7+ drink out there that I could have ordered to maximize my savings, but oh well... Isabella went off to do something as I was paying, but forgot to press a button on her end to request payment, so the payment process took a little longer than expected. If the TV screen hadn't kept flipping back and forth so much, and if that particular line item had shown the correct price, I could easily have chosen a different drink instead. But no complaints about the drink itself. It took just a couple of minutes for them to prepare my Iced Caramel Apple Matcha Latte. I was expecting them to give me a straw, but they have them on a counter by the right wall. I had an Iced Matcha Latte from Dunkin' earlier in the week, and it was on the order of "meh". This matcha latte was way better, though it certainly wouldn't be fair to compare a seasonal flavored matcha latte from a patisserie to a regular matcha latte from an average fast food chain that sells dry, day old tasting donuts lol. The latte was topped with the caramel drizzle, and it paired so well with the matcha that even if the matcha tasted grassy to begin with, I didn't sense it at all. I also thought the drink was at just the right consistency without being overly frothy, like the matcha latte from Dunkin'. Also, it's worth noting I'm not particularly a fan of matcha, so if you are, rest assured that you can get good quality matcha here! Is it the best matcha in town? If you're asking me, you're asking the wrong person LOL. Overall, it's a pretty decent Paris Baguette to go to, and it will definitely keep you company as you do your shopping in Zion Market. If you're not a rewards member, don't forget to join and download the app! These kinds of deals show up from time to time, but you don't necessarily get notified when they come up; instead, you'll have to check the app on a consistent basis or be Yelp friends with someone who posts these kinds of deals on their Yelp feed lol. Like yours truly for example; I'll let you know they're issuing these $3 medium drink rewards for the next two weeks as well. You're welcome :)
