Pretty mediocre donut spot in Linda Vista. The donuts are a bit too doughy for me, super filling and heavy when I'd rather have something lighter and fluffier for a donut. Last time I went, the donuts were actually pretty stale, which was a bummer because my son was really excited to grab some before heading to the zoo to share with his friend. Even with all that, I still end up coming here sometimes just because parking is way easier compared to Rose Donuts, but honestly we prefer Rose Donuts. Nice Donut shop close by to home. They are open 24/7, so whenever we were craving something sweet late, we would drive here. Donut shelves are always well-stocked. So far even at late night when we stopped by all the donuts we had are still fresh and good. This review is specially for their amazing apple fritters! So much can go wrong while making these but Yum Yum nails them every time. These fritters are absolutely ripped with chunks of apple contrasted by the crispy edges from a perfect deep fry. Plus they're so big you might have a hard time eating a whole one. There are locations everywhere seemingly which makes it convenient, fast, and easy. It has a pretty good selection of doughnuts. Your staples. Your jam filled. And then your "fancy" pastries such as danishes, croissants etc. The real winner here is the different sandwiches you can walk away with. I coulda have easily ordered half of the breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and wraps they have to offer. I went with the Chorizo breakfast combo which is any breakfast sandwich, burrito, or bowl, medium coffee and a doughnut for 11 bucks. I also got another doughnut on the side because I'm greedy. One of the doughnuts was stale while the other one was fresh. Which lines up with other people's experience and how it's Russian roulette sometimes if you're going to get a fresh doughnut or not. Staff were chill. They were all mostly chilling when I walked in and chatting with a few people who were playing chess or reading the newspaper. I walked in but they have a drive thru I believe. Craving neighborhood donuts and Yum Yum is definitely closest so gave it a shot. The shop was clean and well stocked with different donuts on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered small chocolate sprinkle, strawberry crueler and vanilla concha. The best was the crueler, as it had a nice airy texture and flavorful strawberry glaze. The mini chocolate donut was unremarkable in flavor and texture, which deters me from trying other regular base donuts at this location in the future. Unfortunately the concha was a total miss, with a hard texture and artificial flavor that threw me off. No hard feelings about the latter since this is not a panadería, but recommend that this store focus on its strengths instead. read more

Open 24/7, I can't think of too many things that would be more awesome than donuts all hours of the day... ok... a couple.... Coffee and Fried chicken 24/7. I had the pleasure of finding this neighborhood donut shop . Yum yum all the way . This place is open 24 hours for all your serious cravings . I tried the chorizo egg cheese breakfast bagel meal that included a coffee & donut. I bought the donut holes and a few other donuts to try later . Was passing by when the car's overall consensus was to get some doughnuts. "Yum Yum Doughnuts right there", as I almost hit someone trying to quickly change lanes. We ordered a chocolate devil's food, a chocolate glazed, an apple fritter, a cinnamon roll and a glazed old fashioned. This Yum Yum Donuts location has been here for as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure they are open 24 hours, which is nice if you need a late night donut fix. As much as I love donuts, I usually stop by Yum Yum to grab one of their croissants which are good. Service is always good. Some of the workers recognize me and will ask how I'm doing when I stop in. It's nice to get this kind of friendly service. Once in a while I will pick up donuts and bring them into work. Krispy Kreme is good, but sometimes I actually crave Yum Yum instead. I feel like Krispy Kreme can be overly sweet. Yum Yum's donuts aren't as sweet, which isn't bad. Sometimes less is more. They always taste nice and fresh. My favorite donuts that I get here is chocolate or glazed twist. My god daughter likes the donut holes and twists as well from here. Decided to give this location a shot because we were in Mission Valley and our kids like the Yum Yum Donuts location that is close by our house. We arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday and there were a few customers before us, so we waited for our turn. They had most of the common donut staples available and some of the ones that they up charge you for. I ordered a half dozen, choosing raised chocolate iced, cinnamon roll, and apple fritters. The raised chocolate iced were similar to what we get at the other Yum Yum location. The apple fritters and cinnamon rolls were big disappointments though. Both tasted very oily and left big oil stains in the donut box. The apple fritters had hardly any apples in them and the cinnamon was nowhere to be found. Outside of that, the location itself is easy to find with plenty of parking available. The staff was friendly and provided good service. Ok, was happy to find a donut shop open 24hrs especially as it was a cheat snack off my diet. Customer service was ok, wasn't greeted once came in but a min later or so was helped. Had so many tough decisions but went with the glazed devil's food cake old fashioned and a new one for me the pb&j jelly filled. Obviously for me it's biting into a long hair in my donut that killed it and her chocolate crawler had her throat scratchy and she has no allergies to chocolate or anything other than pineapple. The employees here are AMAZING!! I've never been to this location before . I called in advance to make sure they were open . The woman that answered the phone was so sweet and upbeat. I was just excited to have her help me when I arrived but two other employees were just as kind and outgoing as her ! You would think all these people have a share in the company. Came here only because my usual donut places were closed on a Sunday. Yum Yum Donuts get a star for being open when other donut shops are closed. Also, they're not too far from where I live. There's ample parking spots in front of the shop or shared parking nearby with the shops surrounding them. Most shops around them are Asian-owned (Vietnamese) so I was shock to find that this donut shop wasn't owned by Asians. But that's probably why they're open when all other shops aren't. This donut shop sells big donuts as well as your basic variety of donuts along with croissants and bagels. It's also a sandwich shop so they have some bagel/croissant sandwich selections to choose from as well as drink selections. We came in the afternoon and their display case was full so I'm assuming they didn't get much customers that day. Donuts were very beautiful to look at as they were in different colors. Don't be fooled. The colors don't mean they are in different flavors. The selections were very basic. You have your risen donuts either glazed, sugared, with sprinkles/nuts/coconut, chocolate dipped, or filled. Then you have your cake donuts in either vanilla or chocolate that's either glazed, sugared, chocolate dipped, or with sprinkles/nuts/coconut. There's nothing extraordinary about the donuts here, pretty basic. Service was okay. Not the best, but it could be better. The Hispanic lady behind the counter didn't smile at us, but she did greet us and thanked us for coming even though she turned her back and walked away while thanking us. It did felt a bit rude and disrespectful, but customer service can always be worst I guess. She was just smiling and speaking Spanish to the customer prior to us who was Hispanic, but we're Asians so I guess she knew the customer before us or something. Regardless, service was just okay for us. There was a Hispanic guy from the back who was helping us before the lady and he seemed friendlier. Smiled at us and interacted us a bit before the lady took over. Customer service was better with him. The risen donuts were soft and delicious as it should be and the cake donuts were moist and delicious as well. So, if you're looking for basic donuts that is opened more often than your usual spots and you don't care too much about customer service, this is the place.
