Got a Tiramisu cake as a farewell gift for a buddy. Incredibly tasty and surprisingly light. Easily fed 12 people. Very very pleased with it and would highly recommend.

My sister ordered my birthday cake from here and it is definitely one of the best cheesecakes in SD. Apparently, they only have one kind of [whole] cheesecake. But upon reading the Yelp reviews, I see people writing "layered cheesecake" and "cheesecake soufflé". So for whole cheesecakes, they only do one flavor. It's a Japanese cheesecake, unlike American cheesecakes. It was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, just the perfect amount of sweetness. I'm not really a cake person; and I'm particular about my cheesecakes. But I had 2 slices. It's that good!

    The Elby and Caramel Mousse

This little cake shop is so underrated that I wanna gatekeep this spot (easy to miss with all the restaurants around it). The cake slices were inexpensive (less than $10 each) and not too sweet or rich, but still elegant and delicious. The caramel mousse cake tasted like a combination of crème brûlée with a light sponge cake. The Elby had the perfect balance of chocolate cake and cream. Highly highly recommend and will return very soon!

Mistral, raspberry ganache, banana mousse, and cheesecake. Latte to complete the experience. Nom! Nom! Nom!

Better than most places. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple but elegant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The quality hasn't changed. Still the same owner running the store.

BE AWARE OF PARKING AND NO APPLE PAY! I'm going to be thoroughly honest, but first impressions weren't all that great. Now it might be because I did arrive the hour prior to them closing and it being a weekend (parking was a nightmare). There wasn't much selection (obviously because it was almost closing time) but I walked in, no one in sight, until I noticed (maybe the owner? the chef?) sitting behind the display in the back and what looked like to be on his phone. I stood there for a good 4 minutes... until a kid made a noise outside and he noticed me standing there. I got the last tiramisu and the 2nd to last strawberry dessert (don't remember what it was called). When ringing up, he automatically said "no apple pay" which kinda caught me off guard. I did pay with card which was fine. I then said thank you after he packed my desserts but that was the end of the conversation basically. I don't know, i'm used to a bit more hospitality, I get that it's almost the end of the shift, but a little disappointed seeing so many people give raving reviews only to not have a great customer service. BUT, after trying the desserts i will say they were pretty good! Very light and not too sweet, so that's why my review stays at 3/5 stars.

When we were in Convoy because we went to The Keep Coffee They didn't have pastries, and I needed to have a pastry with my drink so we drove down the street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped at a dessert lab but it didn't look appealing so we continued driving down the street.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That is when we saw Sage French cake. It was tucked in at a little strip mall. The parking was easy. We went in. The guy that worked there wasn't so friendly but nice enough. We ended up getting a slice of tiramisu and a slice of strawberry cream cake. Both were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Montblanc (bottom) & caramel mousse (top)

We ordered the Mont Blanc and the caramel mousse. Definitely prefer the Mont Blanc more, which is a chestnut flavored dessert and this version was different from the ones I've had in the past. Both cakes were not too sweet, which I prefer. Total came out to be $12.60ish for the 2 slices. There were a few small tables inside and it wasn't crowded at all. Note: There is a minimum $10 purchase for credit cards.

Delicious and thoughtfully prepared desserts. Japanese style means you can expect a delicate taste, nothing overpowering or too sweet, just right. I really loved the tiramisu and caramel mousse along with the fruit tart. This is a small shop in the same parking lot as Nijiya Market. Highly recommend giving it a try! I don't know of any other place in San Diego that makes Japanese style desserts like this!

Sage French Bakery is Japanese-French (I believe?) bakery in Convoy. I've always passed by it in the plaza but never actually stopped by until recently. I came here at around 3 pm on a weekend afternoon and understandably, a lot of the pastries were gone. I was really looking forward to trying the strawberry shortcake that they had but ended up getting the Mistral, which was $6. The cake itself was light and not too sweet, which I liked. The fruits were also really fresh. Only downside I noticed with the mistral was that the cake was relatively dry. Got the other pastries for some family and they said they were really good overall. I'll come back sometime to try their strawberry shortcake! Other thing is there is a $10 card minimum!

It was a warm day but we got there at 5:15pm and the sun was starting to go behind the downtown buildings. Negative: service. It seems if you are a regular, like the two tables near us, they chat it up and talk about how things are. If you aren't a regular, they just quickly come by and say "anything else?" the two times they came by. Im a huge water drinker so the carafe they brought only refilled our cups once. Never got another one until we were done and they came by asking about dessert. They weren't busy by any stretch on a Tuesday evening but apparently the frequent customers either tip really well or they prefer familiar faces. I assume the latter. So, I mean the food itself was great but service was not good. I mean we went when it was slow too and the host was talking it up with a frequent customer also asking about the changes recently to parking in their area nearby.... So, it puts this review as a 3/5.

So we decided on Nonna's for their variety of pastas and pizza. The evening was packed with people up and down the streets. We thought most italian places would provide some sort of complimentary bread, but this place did not. We ended up ordering the Carbonara, Fusilli Alla Vodka, Pappardelle, and Salsiccia pizza. Each were fantastic, but the family really enjoyed the Fusilli and the Pappardelle the most! The short rib meat was extremely tender and flavorful.
