Flour Atelier is a very beautiful little bakery. Their pastries are all so tempting! I love how they have such unique flavor combos that you can't find anywhere else. This includes the yummy asian flavors like matcha, miso, black sesame, etc. Plus they are decorated beautifully with edible flowers. This is a perfect place to fulfill your sweet treat cravings with perfectly sized individual portions. I recently tried their earl grey lavender cupcake with blueberry filling. I loved the flavor combination! The cupcake itself was very hearty so tasted like a homemade pastry rather than a mass produced one. I was very tempted to try their cookies and other pastries, so I'll definitely pick one up next time I'm in the area. I also tried their hojicha and it was sweetened perfectly and had a nice toasty flavor. Be sure to check their hours, they aren't open every day!

Saturday, 3-28-2026: My son suggested this little bakery, which is another favorite. It's very small but is big on the charm. It's so quaint, feminine, and pristine. There is no indoor seating but there are a few tables out front. It's an interesting concept. Flour meets flowers. The pastries are beautifully done & such a feast not only for your eyes but your palate as well. My dear son treated me to a Tiramisu pastry plus an iced Chagaccino. I saved the rest of the pastry for later since I was still full from my cream puffs. I did try a piece and it was perfection! I chugged down my delicious iced drink as we sat outside. My son told me their most popular pastry is a Calamansi cake, which sells out quickly. Would love to try one of those.

Omg.. yum!! I'm so glad I finally got to try them out. Their unique flavors really caught my eye. Everything looked so pretty and I just wanted to try it all but I ended up with the Banana Nut Matcha cupcake, the Tiramisu cupcake & the Peach Jasmine Cheesecake. Flavors are on point & love that it's not super sweet. The cupcakes are moist & the cheesecake is not overly dense. Cake orders must be placed weeks in advance. I had my sister taste it & she was also impressed. Of course, she's already talking about going back.

Dear diary Went for a quick sweet run and found this place. It is a cutesy order and go cafe with several chairs posted outside. The matcha latte was well made and not watery. The strawberry shortcake was not too sweet and the cake was spongey and soft. You have to check it out if you're close by!

I frequent Mitsuwa Marketplace pretty often and always noticed this café whenever I stopped by. I even had it bookmarked for a while, so I finally decided to check it out in person. It's located in between Ross Dress for Less and Mitsuwa Marketplace in the Hawthorne Crossings plaza in Convoy on Kearny Mesa Rd. There's a huge free parking lot with ample stalls but could be very busy during lunch and maybe dinner hours. I've noticed that lunchtimes are the busiest. I got their Black Sesame Hojicha Latte and Black Sesame Kukki. The drink lacked flavor in my opinion. I didn't get much of a black sesame or hojicha -- it was mostly just milk, which was pretty disappointing. The Black Sesame Kukki, on the other hand, was VERY good. It had a rich, nutty flavor that really brought out the black sesame in a way the drink didn't. If I come back, I'd probably stick to their bakery items. The cookie stood out, but the drink didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Wow was this place super disappointing! I've tried flour atelier a couple times before and all the items I've gotten were so good. Come to find out there was a change in management, so I can see why this place has declined so badly. The desserts are so pretty but don't let it fool you. I ended up trying the strawberry matcha cheesecake tart, ube cheesecake brownie, ube butter mochi, cookies and cream tres leches and the signature puff pastry. The crust on the strawberry cheesecake tart tasted so doughy and the matcha wasn't well incorporated. The ube cheesecake brownie was overly dense and the flavor was terrible. I wouldn't even call it a brownie or a cheesecake, more like a block of cream cheese. The ube butter mochi was burnt on the bottom and super hard. I mean how can you mess up butter mochi? I was supposed to get a cookies and cream tres leches but the worker accidentally gave me a black sesame tres leches. Thankfully for him, I do like black sesame, but it was grainy and too sweet and lacking a lot of the black sesame flavor. Lastly, I got their signature puff pastry which was the only item that didn't offend me. It was fine, kind of flat, not the best. Definitely not coming back.

I'm a little sweet treat person. There's nothing I love more than a matcha latte or a little pastry. Flour Atelier is located in the same parking lot as Mitsuwa Marketplace. You know parking can be a doozy, but people are constantly in and out. They have a drink menu with great options including coffees as well as matcha and hojicha. I got a matcha latte with soy milk and it was great. They don't have almond milk as an alternative, but they do offer soy or oat. I was also able to ask for an adjusted sweetness as I prefer a more matcha forward drink. They had a good selection of pastries even though they were close to closing. I got a matcha yuzu cupcake. It was fluffy with a nice cream frosting. Not too heavy or sweet, definitely more Asian style. The shop was cute and they had some flowers and little decor items to purchase too. A little pricey all around but I liked everything I enjoyed!

Torn about this place. I came when they first opened their doors a couple years ago and it was fabulous. But apparently they've changed ownership - and with that, a lot of their iconic flavors went away. Ordered their MATCHA YUZU, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, & TIRAMISUI mini cakes + an UBE TRES LECHES cup. The cakes were not too sweet (which is how I like it) but the flavors were so lacking that they just tasted like nothing. The ube très lèches was the most flavorful thing. Will probably skip on this place in the future unfortunately.

There's no seating inside, but there are a few tables available outside. The pastries are aesthetically pleasing and there is also a drink menu available. I decided to go with the earl grey lavender cupcake, even though I'm not big on cupcakes. It was good overall- moist and not too sweet, but don't feel like it's something that's a must.

Finally checked off a bakery I eyeball every time I come grocery shopping. Located in the same strip mall center as book off and mitsuwa, parking can be a drag but it is worth to stop in for this place! I LOVE the aesthetics of the shop and the fact you can also grab any additional quick gifts like flowers or candles makes for an easy assembly of gifts for any occasion! We ordered a gingerbread and choco peppermint mini cupcake, strawberry matcha and raspberry cheese cake tarts an a macaron, the macaron was delicately delicious! The strawberry matcha cheesecake was so well balanced. And a matcha yuzu-ade beverage which was the perfect balance of matcha flavor and the sweet and sour blend of the yuzu ade! I still have a couple desserts to try so I will update once I made my way through them, but overall everything is well balanced and not too sweet!

Drove all the way from Wildomar to finally get some goodies. Not always in the area and also can't come as often to make it back home in time to pick up my son from school. But glad I finally was able to make it out!!! Super super clean, friendly staff and good beautiful, tasteful desserts and drinks!

I came to Flour Atelier in search of a mini cake for a friend's birthday and they had exactly what I was looking for! The bakery is dainty, and aesthetic, plus, I've heard many good things from social media. Everything was gorgeous from the cakesickles to their mini cakes. Mini cakes were around $9 and is typically aimed for a single person. They were stocked with desserts on the Saturday I went. They have an impressive beverage menu that features matcha and I had to try one for myself. Their original matcha latte tasted great! It was made carefully and hand-whisked by the worker which was nice. Although I didn't get to try the cake, the one I purchased was a chocolate churro cake and my friend could vouch for it! Overall, I'll continue to come by if I was in need of a smaller cake. Their designs are gorgeous! They focus on the florals and do put that on their cakes as well as sell bouquets on the side. Everything seemed reasonably priced for the quality of the items, with unique flavors too which makes Flour Atelier stand out for me. I got my questions answered, my yummy drink to go, and the cake remained secure throughout my 2-hour car ride.

We loved this cute dessert shop. We purchased couple of cake items. There was no dining space, so we decided to eat the beautiful cakes at the grocery dining hall nearby. It is little pricey for what it is.

This was not indicated at all during the order process so was very off putting to hear day of for a Mother's Day arrangement. I am currently out of state for work and an unknown number was calling my cellphone, it was the delivery driver from a trusted florist that was sublet to take care of my order. The driver was going to deliver to the wrong address even though she read the proper address back to me over the phone. I spent about 10-15 minutes on the phone walking her through finding the location of our home and verified delivery via camera and doorbell. When you're paying a premium price to have something done properly and this is the outcome, it was extremely disappointing. I will not be using four seasons flowers for any special occasion again, big let down on many levels. 5-10-2026: To the owner of the shop that just replied back to my review. I am not sure how much more clear I can make this to you, the CORRECT address was provided and everything was filled out appropriately on my end, I am not understanding why you are harping on the fact that this was an online order, if your operation doesn't have the capacity to accommodate this then don't offer it as a service. There is absolutely NO difference in placing an order in person, over the phone and or online. The "trusted" florist you decided to pawn this order off on still attempted to deliver to the WRONG address. Nothing about this was as a success and I cannot believe you have the audacity in a public platform to try and deflect the way that you are. I spent 10-15 minutes on the phone with an elderly delivery driver explaining to her very kindly, that wherever she was going was not the correct address, I am struggling to understand what about this are you not understanding? I am absolutely flabbergasted that instead of reaching back out in attempt to correct the issues, especially in a review, this is your stance. Your address is irrelevant when you're listed as one of the top rated florists in San Diego, if you didn't know, Chula Vista is 100% part of the city. Adding photos for context, maybe you want to rethink your "trusted" partnership approach. Pretty ridiculous again your take on things. Will NEVER be using your shop again and will be sure to spread the word to friends and family to steer clear of your establishment! Very funny that the florist is claiming this is the first email they received, my first communication to them was not the one they decided to include in their review, don't believe everything you read. The owner is incredibly defensive and does all that she can to deflect and spin any negative review to benefit her operation. Go and check yelp and google and get a kick out of it if you have time. The only thing good that came of this after airing things out publicly was a refund.
