    Pancit malabon
    Eunice P.

This is a small to go establishment. No seating. I think the pastries are affordable. There wasn't much pricing everywhere so I bought w/out truly knowing. I got the turón which was good. I got pancit malabon which was probably the expensive item but it's super packed so basically two meals in one. Garlicky, crunchy w/ cabbage and onion. Lots of stuff inside. I liked it. I tried the Nutella and cream cheese but the bread was too dry for me and very little filling. I like generous amounts of filling to bread like 1:1 ratio. This was a thin layer baked inside that I could just get a hint of Nutella, but there was a glob of cream cheese I guess got pushed during baking onto one end which was enjoyable. Also tried the ensaymada macapuno. Good flavor but again, on the dry side. The lady was friendly inside. Lots of options in here but mostly in bulk so more than 1 item sold together. Like multiples packed together or a big portion.

My brother brought home Valerios empanadas. He said the larger ones are beef and the smaller ones are chicken. I chose a beef empanada. This is NOT beef at all. It's chicken.

Like stopping here for the Ube bread and cheese rolls. This one is a small location but still delivers great tasting bread.

Now I forgot how roomy this place is, It's super clean and a great place for a quiet hang out with friends. It was pretty busy when I came which was around 10 am. The drinks were the most ordered from what I've seen. I ordered my drink and it was actually prepared already but my buzzer never rang. I watched what I thought would be my coffee stay there thinking it may be someone else because my buzzer had no buzzed at all. I finally went up to ask where my coffee is just for them to hand me the coffee and say they are waiting on my bread. What bread? It's literally in the bag that I'm holding. So that kind of annoyed me. But things happen. Service was still good like last time. The garlic and cream cheese bread threw me off. The saltiness of the garlic bread with sweet cream cheese worked really well. However there was a bit too much sweet cream cheese for my liking but a combination that worked. The mochi corn had custard and corn. It was pretty good. Not something I'd be addicted to. But it was good. The sweet potato was disappointing. The sweet potato inside tasted like regular potato. Not very sweet. Overall my experience did get better. I want to try these butter mochi I saw next time I go.

I've always loved walking in there, inhaling the oven-fresh aromas like a FIEND, ever since I was in grade school-- I'll turn 51 in a few days. You have ONE slice of their special occasion shortcakes (strawberry, mango, and I think one more variety), and you instantly become a new customer--this has been their calling card for DECADES, and they EXPONENTIALLY grow their clientele with each cake sold (potentially a new customer per slice). Their customers are SO loyal that--as far as I can tell--Honey Bakery isn't even on social media--word-of-mouth, even in 2026, is all that's needed--their baked goods speak for themselves. I highly-recommend their MILK BREAD (you'll be willing to make a special trip here, SOLELY to pick up a bag or two)--if you're a bread-lover, you'll find their freshly+baked loaves to smell intoxicating, and let's see if you can stop yourself from snacking on JUST one slice, right out of the bag....they're REALLY addictive. They come THICK- and THIN-SLICED, but thick especially sells out quickly by mid-morning, so CALL AHEAD & RESERVE your order. As I was reminded by reading another customer's review, payment is CASH-ONLY.

Every time I've gotten a pastry from here in the last 5-8 years they have slowly gotten more and more dense lol. I only ate one pastry, but this pastry had maybe 100 solid layers and I feel like I just stuffed my self at KBBQ... I miss old soft pastry. I used to love their pork sung pastry too, but now it's a pork sung dense bread with a pastry blanket on top. This is a mom and pop shop so I feel like they either hired a new baker or one took over and has a taste for very dense bread and textures... honestly texture is not bad, but way too filling and heavy for me.

I was also there during that day wanted to say that it wasn't at all how the situation unfolded; to clarify it was definitely busy and the 2 boys at the bar station were getting absolutely swamped by orders. It was understandable that they were behind and could not keep track of every drink being made. The lady, Corrine, however made a very big scene when she noticed that her drink was definitely missing. The boy in the colored shirt whom I assume is the manager apologized for the inconvenience and went to make the replacement drink right away. While he did this the lady started to use profane language and did in fact grab the tote bag to toss. The manager did politely ask that she not throw the bag as it is still merchandise. He promptly offered them a refund for their transaction and an apology for the inconvenience. Im obviously very nosy so I listened in on the entire thing. She WAS NOT accused of stealing but I do however think it was an overreaction. I hope this helps and for the record the 2 boys on the bar area handled their rush like 2 champions.

I think compared to the traditional asian bakeries in 626 like Kee Wah, etc., the breads are much softer (a little on the overly soft side). One of my favorite asian breads, the bolo bao, is probably the worst here or at any 85C - the flakiness that's supposed to be the highlight of the bolo bao is not even close to where it needs to be at 85C. But I will say, the bun with the coffee filling inside is spectacular, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves coffee. At night, the selection of the breads is extremely limited, but the place is still popular due to the large variety of drink offerings. There is a lot of seating and the place is generally clean and well-lit. The parking lot is big but it's always busy and may be hard to find a spot unless you park further away sometimes.

Most everything costs between $3-5. What a steal! I ordered their new item -- a banana latte made with their own banana syrup and cold foam to go with a double shot of espresso. It was tasty though seeing the old timers with their hot brewed coffees and bean buns made me wish I'd gotten something hot too.
