What a lovely bakery! They have a variety of pastries to choose from, both sweet and savory, so depending on what mood you're in, you have options to choose from! In addition to pastries, they also have cake slices, whole cakes, and a drink menu to order from! One thing I really appreciate about the store is that they list not only the name of the pastry, but the ingredients in it as well. This is EXTREMELY helpful for me because I have a nut allergy, and it saves me the time and hassle of having to ask an employee about it. It also saved me from almost getting a pastry with tree nuts in it! On to the pastries review! When I went there I got a few things: Cheese Dog - Very delicious. I'm a big fan of the flavor combination, as the bread neutralizes the saltiness of the hot dog. I even ate it when it wasn't warm anymore and still enjoyed it a lot! Wheat Mushroom Pastry - Pretty good! The texture of the bread and mushrooms is nice. My only complaint is that it was pretty oily that it soaked through the plastic bag it was in. Hokkaido Custard Bun - As the name suggests, this is a pastry with a custard filling. The custard is light and airy and similar to the texture of whipped cream! I enjoyed this one a lot. Milk Pudding Pastry - Pretty similar to the Hokkaido custard bun, except the filling was more rich and custard-y. Very tasty! Brioche bread - Probably my favorite thing in the selection of pastries I've gotten. The bread is fluffy, and the bread is brushed with a sweet buttery coating that satisfies all the taste buds in my mouth. Just writing about it makes me crave more! Not my first time at 85C bakery! I've been to other locations but first time at this location. This one is located on Willow Pass Concord area. The area what used to be called ParknShop (not sure if it still called that). Anyways, there's plenty of parking, as the area has various eatery's. Also this one is bigger than the ones I've been to. There is so much to chose from, I don't even know what to get. I was so excited! But I get a few things. They offered pastries and cakes I'll just say it right now they're all delicious especially with coffee! Today I bought Marble Taro, Chocolate Cream Cheese, Jalapeño Cream Cheese (love), Cheese Bread, and Chocolate Chip Cookies (so soft) and gewey!!! Yasssss!!! Just the way I like them! The price is pretty good! Not too expensive considering it's pastry. The staff are mediocre, they don't really greet you unless you're at the register. Oh by the way the Sea Salt Coffee is a must! Yo I was shocked, shocked that this 85c bakery was fully stocked on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. I've been to the 85s in Sac, Stonestown SF and Berkeley (when they were still open) and their stock was always slim pickins after 1pm. 85 is similar to Sheng Kee bakery in El cerrito and Paris Baguette in Berkeley. Maybe even a hybrid of the 2 places. They offer bread, buns, cakes (both in slices or whole), and dranks! I was able to snatch up a couple taro buns, matcha bun, egg tarts and hokkiado cheese tarts. Prices range from $1-4 which is not bad for the area. The pastry section is pretty cramped though. Upon entering, you grab a tray and tongs and continue to the right, eyeing all the pastries you desire. Load up your tray and squeeze between people to make it to the cashier. They offer drinks such milk teas, coffee, and smoothies. I tried their sea salt series, the Jasmine green tea with boba and sea salt cream on top. My favorites were the cheese tart and the taro bun. The taro bun was hollow for the most part on the inside but had a nice taro paste inside. The cheese tart tasted good when warmed. Nice, mildly sweet outer shell with mascarpone and cream cheese; good balance of sweet and salty. I also enjoyed their red bean bun and they had 2 different kinds. For the most part I like their pastries because they're not overly sweet. The jasmine tea was good, I dont recall being able to adjust the sweetness. It had strong tea flavor and a splash of salt from the sea foam. The boba balls weren't the best because they were a bit on the hard chewy side-meh it was decent. I tried the matcha chocolate bun thinking it was a good combo but I was dissatisfied. It was smushy and I didn't like the cream filling on the inside. The store for the most part is clean and they allow some indoor seating. There's a few tables and comfy chairs to relax and munch. They have a restroom for customers. I used their restroom and yes it is new and clean but man did they blast the jams in the bathroom. Yo, it was so loud you couldn't even hear if anybody was knocking outside for you to hurry the helllo kitty up because you were too caught up in the music. Overall, great bakery and I'm glad they opened in Concord. They're located close to Ranch 99 and other asian eateries. The lady who rang me up was patient and kind. Pastry Heaven! Never heard of 85C Bakery Cafe until recently. Thanks to the many Yelpers I got really interested. I have many weaknesses when it comes to food, and pastries are at the top of the list. I came here last week and as soon as i walked in, holy cow, so many pastries! I just grabbed whatever caught my eyes, and boy I caught many. I got some macadamian cookies, croissant, loaf of bread, and many random pastries that I have no idea what they were. I got a total of 13 items to make it an even baker's dozen. Then, I even got a hot boba milk tea. Never had a hot boba drink before but it works. At 85 C degrees, hot, you wouldn't think its heaven. Mixed feelings. So if this was just a rating for the drink I ordered it would be maybe 2 stars. But they have an array of baked goods and they constantly put out fresh ones. They seem to actually be even better than the other 85C I've been to. Everything looks soft and delicious. The garlic cheese bread was sugary though, not a fan of that. They had a version with French bread, that may be better. The Hokkaido cheese tart was good, tasted like a soft cheesecake. They have so many options of savory goods, sweet buns, cakes, and a few fridge items. Priced reasonably. When you enter the shop on the right will be a tray and you can grab that and fill it up with whatever you would like before getting into line to pay. As for the drink-The sea salt jasmine green tea was extremely watered down, the sea salt creama is not tasty, and I got a regular straw despite having added lychee jelly. Seemed like a good deal, but actually quite expensive for a small drink that wasn't good at all (go to happy lemon or teapot). Maybe their other drinks are better. For me, I would pass on the drinks, but continue to support by buying baked goods. FYI it's cards only for now (Apple Pay ok). I hope we continue to see more asian bakeries and restaurants make their way into contra costa county! This review is being made during their soft opening. We were craving 85, but the closest one to us was in San Leandro, but they don't make their drinks that good. My boyfriend looked up 85 online and this location popped up! I was so psyched and was wondering maybe it's a mistake? I went to double check their official website and it says they're open in Concord now!!! Omg! Because it was their soft opening still, they close at 3pm. So we got in our car and drove about 30min to get here before they closed. We arrived at around 2pm and I was expecting a long line outside. However, there was no line outside, but inside. I expected us to wait for quite awhile, but the line moved very fast! There were plenty of pastries left as well. We ordered a peach green tea w/mango jelly and caramel milk tea w/pudding. The cashier, Marcela, rang us up and she was very friendly. It took her a few minutes to add in our order because I think everyone is still getting the hang of everything, but we didn't mind. She was able to scan my rewards app too! The owner was at the pick up counter calling out order numbers and making sure everyone got their drinks. The peach green tea was a bit watered down and not sweet. The caramel milk tea had a lot of ice in it as well, but it wasn't as bad as how San Leandro makes it. I figured maybe once they start getting the hang of things, then the drinks will improve. Update: Saturday the 26th So we came in today around 12:30 because it was packed yesterday and my gf wanted to see the bakery because how excited I was about it. SOO I removed one star because I came in YESTERDAY as it shows on Yelp I wanted to redeem for my mug (you guys ran out yesterday) the lady put a sticker on my receipt and said come back to get it. I switched purses so the receipt was in my other purse but I told the girl I had the picture and pulled up my YELP REVIEW , I get it maybe people try to get over to get free stuff but the manager looked annoyed and wouldn't even look at the Yelp review showing I was here yesterday (eye roll). I take pictures or have them emailed because I end up losing or throw them away. You could of at least let her show you the review so you saw I wasn't trying to get over on y'all. So happy they opened this place! First time here and it was their grand opening! They handed out free bags to customers. Everything is fresh and looks so good! I was unable to really look around I didn't want to hold up the line so I grabbed a couple of things and two cake slices! i am afraid to even post this because then people will know they are finally open. But we are so glad they are in Concord now! We went Saturday morning and there was already lines. They have limited selection right now since they just opened, but what they have is good. No dine-in so you have to grab your treats and drinks to go. Service was fast and the buns are reasonably priced. The mango custard bun had rich and thick custard, with distinct mango flavor. The bacon was smokey. The French garlic and cheese bread had strong garlic taste (don't kiss anyone after) with delicious cheesy goodness. The croquette had a nice touch of corn for added sweetness. The hot dog bun was filling. However the almond half moon cake was just ok. The cake part was light and sweet, but the cream was a bit heavy. And the sour cream bun was nothing special, just sweetened with globs of sour cream on top. The price point was definitely affordable for an Asian bakery, about $1 less than Paris Baguette items. Bakery was steaming hot fresh with great selection and director all this location cup stacking the shelves with freshly baked items. Needed to figure out some desert for our daughter's birthday. Rather than go with 1 cake or pie, why not make it a sampler of 6 or 7 different items? I do beer flights all the time so a celebration flight was in order! The chocolate mousse and tiramisu where delectable. Very organized the way they queue you through the baked goods and into the cashier line, then exiting through a different set of doors. Which is all very good as this place is super busy on the weekends. Because this is a new location and many people are trying them out, I suggest coming early to get the best selection of desserts. Some of our favorites are the Hokkaido tart, Egg tart, cinnamon twist, cheesecake. The pastries are not super sweet and there are many fruit and Asian inspired flavors. Tempted by the aroma of freshly-baked bread and a glimpse of shelves piled high with baked goods, we decided to stop by and try this place for ourselves. Their food and drinks are delicious however, to be utmost frank, it's 3.5 stars instead of 4... I'm just being charitable with the ratings. I'm subtracting 1 point because when I order their drinks, there seems to be more ice than the drink itself. The amount of the liquid only fills a third of the cup. Then, I'm subtracting another 0.5 points because the food itself is not freshly made to order (I may be wrong since I only order delivery) but you can compare it to the freshness of packaged pastries from grocery stores, not warm and can last for a few days on your counter til it goes bad. Everything looked fresh as the workers were constantly bringing the hot trays and putting the bread items on the shelves. 85°C Bakery is located in the Park & Shop plaza. It gets pretty busy in this plaza, especially on weekends, but they have plenty of parking in the parking lot. It has a similar layout/style as the other locations and it has some seating off to the side. Service is not the best, the employees in the morning are not the most friendliest and when I ask them to fix something or ask them questions, they come off a bit rude. Overall it is a 2 or 2.5 stars, but just for the Berrytale, I gave it a 3 stars. My favorite go to items here are their Berrytale and Brioche with their Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea. I usually stop by in the morning when they open (around 8 AM) for an early morning breakfast/snack before studying, but the Brioche is not ready at that time, so I would just get the Berrytale and Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea. The Berrytale is delicious when it is fresh out of the oven first thing in the morning, the bread is fluffy and soft, while the blueberry filling is nice and warm. The Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea tastes a bit off at this particular location - they put way too much matcha powder on top that it overpowers the drink, even though I ask for less (they put so much, that the drink turns green like the matcha). read more

I absolutely love 85 bakery! I'm glad they opened one in Concord right next to a bunch of other wonderful restaurants and stores. Food - These are a few of my favooorite things! The hot dog bun is an amazing snack. The potato croquettes are delicious. I love the cheese bread as a dessert. The egg tarts are to die for - especially the mochi egg tart which I've only seen in this location. I also really love their mushroom wheat bun! Other things that were okay were their Hawaiian bun, garlic bread, and the elote bun. Honestly, these pastries make for great snacks and it's always fun being here because of the process of choosing your snacks! I've also only tried their red velvet cake, which was pretty rich and sweet! I am not too much of a fan of their coffees, so I don't order it.
