85 degree is a wonderful concept. Delicious pastries at low prices that you can buy in bulk for the family or grab 1 or 2 as a quick, cheap treat for yourself. We've been coming to 85°C Bakery for over 2 years and have always loved their breads, pastries, and drinks, so this review is based solely on our experience purchasing a birthday cake. My daughter chose the Strawberry Tiramisu for her birthday and was so excited to finally cut into it after dinner. Unfortunately, it was really disappointing. Instead of being light and creamy, the cake tasted dry and stale. I understand a strawberry tiramisu won't have the exact same texture as a traditional tiramisu, but the cream and cake layers were firm and lacked the fresh, mousse-like consistency we were expecting. It honestly tasted like it had been sitting for a while. It was especially disappointing because this was the centerpiece of her birthday celebration after she had picked it out herself and looked forward to it all day. We'll definitely continue coming back for the breads and drinks we know and love, but based on this visit alone, I can't give more than three stars. I used to work right next-door and would come here almost every day. Happened to drive by today and thought I would stop in with my two kids. They were very unhelpful, super rude and when I asked if they could warm up a bun, they told me they don't warm up things for customers anymore unless they're buying a sandwich. Ummm... I just spent $30 at your restaurant. You can't warm up one bun for me? I'll go to Sweet Hut from now on. At least they act grateful for business. read more

They were closed in February 2026 for a remodel and recently reopened. They have more pastries now which, is good because I was getting tired of the old options. I get my usual iced sea salt caramel coffee. It's bomb. Their tea drinks are really sweet so I would skip those. read more

Good 85° store! This is one of my favorite chain bakeries. They have a great selection of food and very reasonably priced. The day I came in, it did not seem like it had as much food as the other chain bakery stores. But it was still very solid. The service was stellar and the ambience is great. I'm super sad. This location did not have anything on their shelves or in the check out line. They only had two shelves of bread. My husband's drink was only filled half way in the cup. When he asked the girl to remake his drink she said "that's how we were taught to make them. A small amount of coffee filled with the rest foam. WATCH OUT FOR OVERCHARGING! In the past year I've been frequenting this location almost monthly. And more than half the times they've overcharged me for extra items I didn't get. For examples, they'll count 5, but really I only bought 4. What makes this already annoying experience even more unbearable is that when you go back to point out they overcharged you, they give you attitude! No smile, no apology. Just takes your receipt then go through your items then issue a refund unwillingly. This whole time they won't even look at you! They don't even look at you when they are talking to you...... The Asian girl ( who's..... well-fed, that's the best way I can put it) has the worst customer service! I don't know how she treats other people but my lord she was horrible with me. Got some pastries and ordered drink in less than 10 mins. The drink took about 10 mins until I get it. I ordered the Taro Lavender Latte and it was really really amazing. If you are into sweeter drinks, definitely try this one!!! For pastries, I got the Garlic Cheese, Milk Pudding, Milk Tea Bun, and Choco Cream Cheese. Came here last night around 7:00 pm. The reason I'm giving 1 star is for the following: 1. Filthy inside. Saw a cockroach running across the floor as we entered. 2. There was almost no pastry selection left and what was left didn't look that appetizing. Also there were flies hovering near the cases. 3. It was pretty low in terms of the number of customers inside. I bought the almost last 5 pieces of bread/pastries. A couple had just stepped up to the counter purchasing a cake. For whatever reason their transaction took about 12 mins. When we were waiting behind the couple we lined up behind them. Only to be told by the very rude woman working there that "the line is over there" as she pointed to the zigzag queue that by then had another customer standing there. Instead of acknowledging that we had by this point waiting over 15 mins, and ringing us up. She made us go to the back of the line in the queue. Poor customer service. Unfortunate that this woman can't think about the customer and instead made a judgement call which sends the message that this business only cares about making a buck. The place has gone downhill quite a bit. Their breads are markedly smaller, not as fresh, and much less selection every time we go. They used to have this triangle-shaped 3-layered sandwich that was the sole reason I used to visit. It's been gone for I think years. Maybe change of ownership or what not. That was a differentiator. WHAT! What to eat: Egg Tarts (hot). Guava Cheese Strudel. Brioche. Fruity drink: Lemon Black Tea w tapioca. King Grapefruit Black Tea if they'll make it (they won't). King Grapefruit Green Tea, not as good as the black. What to milky drink: Sea Salt Iced Coffee. Sea Salt Iced Caramel Coffee. Sea Salt Black Tea. Also great to eat: Choco Bun. Taro Swirl. Coconut Tart. Not as good: Coffee Bread. Regular Milk Tea. Anything with green tea. Marble Taro. Red Bean Bread. Definitely not our favorite location of 85° to say the least. I asked them if they would be willing to make my grapefruit tea the way we love it with black tea and one of the employees got really standoffish with me. There are a few employees I had issues with here on the few occasions that we've been here. The Richardson location has completely spoiled me because it's so extraordinary friendly. This one is nothing of the sort. They have your typical delicious baked goods but I have yet to ever find anything here piping hot - probably because they don't sell as much of a volume as the stores where everything is usually hot. Parking is not too bad for this one. It's in a large Plaza that kind of set aside by itself. And holy crap did my goddess look good this day, am I right? (When does she not). Unfortunately much like Kung Fu Tea (and Barbie) (and me), they're very anal about not altering their products, because "it won't taste good." Psh. It's a real pain; we know what we like. We're not stupid; we don't like being treated as such. Admittedly the grapefruit is good with green tea, but I don't like the taste of green tea - one of the locations up in Dallas made it special with black tea, and it was twice as good! We would order it a lot more (and spend more money) if they'd do it with the goddamned black tea for us. And they get a big attitude here about requests like that. Or they have done. More detail: Low down on the drinks: - Lemon Black Tea is heaven. Get it with tapioca. Subtle and not too sweet. Tastes homemade. Perfect. - King Grapefruit is a huge grapefruit in a huge cup with delicious black tea (if they go off menu for you, but they won't), or mediocre green tea, excellent with boba. - Sea Salt drinks are heaven. All these are iced, not hot. The Coffee, Caramel Coffee, and Black Tea are all addictive and divine with Sea Salt and Boba, but the Caramel Coffee is the winner and is the must try drink at 85. Conclusion: Order the Caramel Sea Salt Iced Coffee. If you love lemon or grapefruit, order those with black tea. And as for the pastries: - The Egg Tart is pure heaven. When it's piping hot, it's the greasiest and one of the tastiest on the whole planet. It's not good for you, but then neither is unprotected frolicking with strangers on vacation in the third world and that never stopped you now did it. - Brioche looked like it'd be all hype, but it is as dreamy as people say it is. - Choco Bun and cookies are good - Guava Cheese Strudel is divine, much better than it sounds, may be the low key best pastry (see what I did there I'm so trendy) Some of the other stuff isn't as good. Today me and my partner were doing some orders, which we happened to suddenly get a 85°C Bakery Cafe order. I was so excited because I heard about it but I never went in person. So it was a good chance to at least get to know how it is, so I excitedly told my partner if he could please take a picture of the menu and some sweets! So that's when he left to go inside while I waited in the car. Minutes passed and HE comes back but not looking very happy at all and I asked what's wrong are you okay and HE happened to tell me- I went into the store. Once I entered I saw an extremely long line. It was super long I couldnt even see the doordash sign, but I did see next to where the employees were, that there was a sign that said "pickup order" so I went there, and waited 10-15 minutes for the order patiently, and nobody bother to ask why I was standing at the pickup location. the entire line is now clear and they would literally each staring at me then continue just trying to wipe something down or make a drink, and I was standing less than 3-4 feet away from the counter. After I took a glipse around and saw line was empty, I seen the girl employee was bagging the order and didnt even bother to ask if I had an order knowing she was the cashier. I understood the guy making drinks because he was doing it alone, and when I saw the guy who had short hair, he was moving EXTREMELY slow ( the one who laughed at me ) compared to the guy with long hair that I seen working above starbucks level. I then saw that there was the sign for pickup doordash, but it was literally a 1ft by 1ft sign, and if theres a line you cant see it. Only the pickup order hanging by register. Thats when I stood there for like 5 minutes until that guy decides to come up towards me and ask, what did I need. And I immedietly told him, why did it take so long for yall to notice that I had been waiting for an order, I can clearly see it there, and yall are not even bothering to even ask why I was waiting over there by the pickup order sign.  Who is yalls manager, because this is crazy, I waited over 25 minutes patiently. thats when he started laughing, and I told him, whats funny? then I told him, yall need put both signs in one spot because someones not gonna see it with a line. and he continued to laugh and said "Its not funny" but continues to laugh unneccessarily. thats when I got upset/disappointed and just took the order and walked out disappointed. -I was very disappointed on hearing this because I heard they had good sweets there but knowing theyre showing or presenting a bad behavior is not okay or respectful to my partner or to anybody at that! First time visiting the Plano location. The family and I usually go to the Carrollton location but happened to be in Plano. We love Asian pastries and 85 degrees is our favorite spot to grab them. We were so sad when the Fort Worth location closed but still grateful there are still locations around the metroplex. Our favorites include pudding milk bread, choco roll, cream cheese brioche and many more. The store is located in the same shopping area as 99 Ranch and Daiso. It was clean and organized. They always have delicious treats,and while the employees ARE wearing masks and gloves,they DO NOT enforce social distancing. They DO have the stickers in the floor for distance,but they don't have anyone monitoring capacity. This place is really popular due to the location,but when I went in there the customers don't seem to care about social dastancing either. Some woman and her bpyfriend was so close to me their tray was touching my back and they gave me a dirty look when I asked them to back up. Sea Salt Carmel Cold coffee is a must. My fiancée swears by this and prefers it over Starbucks, Dutch Bros and even Dunkin. Strawberry season is my absolute favorite but I cannot leave without a ham and cheese. Smoothies are delicious and being able to add boba is a plus. read more
