    Great bread
    Guy H.

This is in a Chinese grocery store complex. They have a huge selection of fresh baked goods including, bread, curried meat filed buns etc. I didnt buy anything this trip but will definitly come back when I need some of this. Worth a visit.

This bakeshop has the best breads. No matter if it's their buns, loaves or rolls. Yes, they are better than 85* Bakery. Their breads are moist, soft and flavorful. And most significantly, they taste what the label says. I'll give out some examples. Their coconut bun, smells and tastes like coconut. It has finely grated coconut inside with a good bread to filling ratio. Their roast pork buns, you know it! Tasty, moist and has a good meat to bread ratio. Their purple yam bun (ube for short) and milk bread bun are also top notch. How can I tell? When you pinch on one end and pull it to the other end, it peels by the layer. That's a great indication of how good their dough is. I live approximately 40 miles from this place but it's totally worth the drive. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back to this place. Thank you for reading.

    Found hair in this one.

I'm not sure what kind of bread we bought, but we found a hair in our bread. You might want to check your bread before you eat it. Also, this is the reason people who sell or prepare food need to wear hair nets.

    Good stuff

Fortunately, if you're not dining in, ordering from the to-go line is very quick, and there's even a comfy seating area in the front where you can enjoy your food and beverages. In addition to a double shot espresso I ordered, I also got a broccoli mac and cheese croissant. The croissant was expensive ($7.50), but it's hearty enough to be a meal. I wasn't offered an option to toast up the pastry, but I didn't particularly mind the coldness of the mac and cheese component of the pastry. The croissant surrounding the filling was flakey with nicely laminated layers. Meanwhile, the filling was satisfyingly salty and rich. Although the pastry was tasty, it's probably something I would only try once -- rather than something I would get regularly, due to how heavy the pastry ate. Overall, if you're looking for skillfully prepared, creative pastries, La Casita Bakeshop definitely fits the bill.

The one thing that freaked me out was I did see a bad bug in the place and notified the cashier. They were able to squash it but it did ruin my appetite a bit. I know these things happen but I hope that it isn't a bigger problem. My friend to go'd a delicious cake that was seasonal and it was beautiful and delicious. She got another dessert that was a bit heavy for our liking that was also seasonal but the flavors were still good.

My better half had a Beez Kneez latte and a lemon scone. Everything was fantastic and I would highly recommend the place as one of the best coffee spots I've tried in the Dallas area. The staff was courteous, fast, and came unprompted and cleared our table when we finished any food item, which is not often the case in my experience. On a Monday between 9:30a & 10a they were busy, but they were very well-staffed and moved fast without rushing anyone, and the line wasn't out the door. There's also a free covered garage right around the corner behind the location, so parking within a block or so of walking distance isn't a problem.

Inside has lots of sitting areas, but it does get filled fast with people who want to relax and study or read a quiet book to themselves. There's seasonal drinks are delicious, but I stick to my tried and true- Beez Kneez I had a little modification of a little extra honey, and a few splashes of heavy cream. If you ever tried and loved the Bell milk from La La Land, you'll know why I quickly became addicted to adding heavy cream too all my coffees lol Everyone there is always so friendly and quick to recommend things if you're deciding between two different drinks. Love love love it here!!
