Anytime a friend is in town, I love taking them to 86 forks! The vibe here is always stunning, wait staff are always nice and helpful, but most importantly- the food! I personally love having the option to eat small bites of different items rather than one large dish. The small plates are so perfect!! Came here for the first time recently and will definitely be coming back. While we only had apps this time (3) - all of them were great. Will try the main courses next time to update this review too. Our quick appetizer sample included the duck-fat fries, the baby street corn and the bbq spareribs. The fries were cooked to perfection and apparently they are made by the same chef who used to work at Hopjacks i was told. The garlic aioli served with the fries is a great compliment. The baby street corn is a solid play on a full street corn. While it wasn't exactly the real thing in terms of that sweet corn with that pop of spice and cilantro - it was still very good. A little different texture than a regular street corn too so just know that going into it. The BBQ spareribs though - sooooo amazing. Best thing i ate on this trip and would have them again for sure. The perfect balance of sweet with salty and they had the perfect bite (not all falling off but still easy enough to pull from bone). All in all a 5 star experience - solid service too.And who know this review may change based on a full meal later but for now they deserve all 5 stars. read more

Top 3 best restaurants in Euni's Foodie Realm - Pensacola. Everytime someone tells me they haven't been, I bring them here. The atmosphere reminds me of California, my home. I love the ambience of the inside and the live edge wood tables. You can see the chefs at work and they are as unique as the place represents. The menu items are hella creative on the menu and the plate. On your first visit, you need to expand your tastebuds with the Shareables. Try all of them! And then the next visit get Bao Buns. Then try Ramen. All the food is amazing and the flavors are so powerful! The photos are from my last visit. The Lobster Rangoon didn't make the photos. I was starving! Small place but Big on service and Flavorful Food. My wife and I went around 3 on a Saturday. We sat at a table and with in 5 minutes every table was full of people. We ordered the Brie cheese with bacon and toasted bread. It was Hot and you could taste each ingredient in the dish. After that I had the Duck noodle bowl and My wife ordered the shrimp bowl. Both were very filling and delicious. Again nothing in either dish was overpowering. Each had plenty of meat in the dish and was cooked just right. For dessert we ordered the pineapple sundae. I would give this place zero stars if I could. My friends and I went to 86 Forks to celebrate a birthday dinner, and the experience was ruined by the horrible customer service. First off, they require a passkey to use the restroom, which was already inconvenient. On our way out, we stopped down the hall (a public area, mind you) to use the restroom and saw a cool hallway with a mural. It wasn't blocked off, restricted, or marked with any signs, so we stopped briefly to take a few pictures of the birthday boy. Out of nowhere, one of the chefs (a White woman with short brown hair) came out and rudely told us we couldn't be there. We immediately apologized, grabbed our things, and left the hallway. Problem solved, right? Wrong. We stepped outside the restaurant (again, a public strip with other shops and businesses) to figure out where we were going next. After initially going back into the restaurant, the same chef came storming out in an unnecessarily aggressive mood, yelling at us that we couldn't be there either. When I asked why she was being so rude to us when we had already complied with her earlier request, she made an inappropriate and offensive comment about how she "can't stand people like us." This interaction felt targeted and prejudiced, and it was completely unwarranted. We were nothing but respectful and tried to resolve the situation calmly, but the chef's attitude and behavior made the experience feel hostile and discriminatory. If you're looking for a place with good food and good service, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. This establishment clearly doesn't value its customers or know how to treat people with basic respect. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

It does hold a special place in our hearts, we had our first date here and a little reception for the day we signed the paperwork for our marriage. Firstly, the food is tapas style so you can share with others or eat it each plate by yourself. The ambiance is really unique, very industrial meets classy Japanese ramen bar. The service is always amazing and the waitresses are always willing to help and explain the menu to you (which I would definitely do, especially if it's the first time you are dining with 86 forks. Just because a lot of the items on the menu are unique). Drinks are very good and pretty reasonably priced as far as palafox dining goes. After reading a couple bad reviews I would like to say, YOU SEAT YOURSELF, there is a sign right as you walk in the door. All in all I love 86 forks! This place is in a great location right off of Palafox, with plenty of inside and outside seating. We went on a Saturday night and had made reservations, so there was no wait. The hostess and waitress was great, although the waitress seemed a bit overworked. It's a somewhat limited menu, but that is not always a bad thing. The food came quickly, but in a weird order. Entrees first, then appetizers, then cocktail. The food was pretty good, served hot and had lots of flavor. The best part of the meal was the cocktail, it was the Zen Blossom. Wife said it was one of the best mixed drinks she has had in P-Cola. Good food, great location, great drinks.....give it a shot! read more

Cheeseburger Baos! This caught my eye and I had to try! The vibe of this place was creat! It's was pretty packed for a small atmosphere. Felt like a place you'd find in a alley of a big city like LA. The service was nice and the staff overall was pleasant. The Baos were good not great! Only because they were slightly older ver cooked. The duck fat fries are decent as well. I would have loved an aioli to go with them. I asked for their spiciest chili sauce and it was a 5 out of 10 but good flavor. You can also add additional ingredients to your bao and I went with fried garlic. This would have been a better than good experience if I had more pickles and onions along with it and if they were taken of the griddle just a minute or two sooner. Okay- I'll start by saying I was really pumped to try this place. As a Pensacola local, it looked intriguing and new to the downtown culture we have here. I've been a bartender here for years and have a high tolerance when it comes to restaurant mishaps. I GET IT. We get busy, little help, rushing to do everything. So for me to put a one star review, things went completely south here. I'll start with our greeting. Met a girlfriend for dinner and stood by the door for about 10 minutes. No greeting, no acknowledgement. Okay, they are busy... two spots at the bar opened up and we sat down. Bartender took the plates still left on the bar top, but didn't wipe down the area in front of us. We ordered cocktails, asked to see IDs. My friend immediately pulled hers out and I had to look for mine in my wallet. We waited another 5 minutes for her to come back and check our IDs. Ordered our first round of drinks and food all at once because we didn't know when she would be back to take our order. We order duck fry poutine, lobster rangoons, and two types of bao buns. The drink we had was a hazelnut cider drink (which was the best part of our entire dinner). We get our duck fry poutine first. Mind you, I had been waiting to try this dish for months. I love poutine. To my amazement, the fries were dry as can be, very little gravy on it. So little gravy the plate on the bottom didn't have a drop of gravy on it. The cheese curds were an absolute abomination to poutine. They are pre breaded, frozen, FRIED CHEESE CURDS. Fried so hard they were a shell, all the cheese in the middle was gone. So the 8 fried curds I did get were just hollow shells of sadness. Not a good poutine AT ALL. Shockingly bad. The lobster rangoons were okay, but had a very strong fishy flavor that I'm not used to when it comes to fresh lobster. But the sauce made them edible. The bao buns were... odd. I ordered the duck bao bun and the duck was dry, and black. Covered in cold hoisin sauce which made the whole experience a cold, sweet, tough disappointment. My friend got the ribeye bao buns and said hers were dry and flavorless/cold as well. We ordered a second drink before we got our bao buns. The first drink we had was great.. the second drink was astoundingly awful. We are the types of people who will eat/drink what we order and not complain if we don't like it.. but there was something about the nonchalant careless demeanor of the bartender that rubbed us wrong. If my customers leave full drinks/plates of food... I'm gonna ask them if everything is okay. Our bartender could have cared less. We asked for our check.. $70 for food that was cold, dry, and honestly the worst food I've ever had on palafox street. We won't be repeat customers and I can't say I would ever recommend this place if anyone asked how it was. I would be embarrassed for them to have the same experience we had. If the manager or owner reads this, the customer service needs a huge face lift. The caddy attitude from your FOH staff was concerning, especially when the food is coming out like that. The poutine is another big fail, for the love of god, get rid of the fried hollow cheese curd shells. read more

"Asian fusion." Asian ingredients but not necessarily Asian methods, but who am I kidding, I'm as Americanized as Asians come. $30 for 3 mini tacos and a bowl of pork ramen. The tacos did not seem fresh, from the wontons they were in to the fish itself. The saving grace was the wasabi aioli, since there wasn't much flavor in anything else, as I couldn't even taste the mere flecks of one crumble of Cotija cheese. It came with a side of kimchi and dressing-less slaw which seemed random and didn't really go together. The ramen had no flavor, but the eggs were a perfect over medium and a decent flavor, and the pork belly serving was generous. I would rate the food a 3.5 star quality, but the service, atmosphere, and menu options bump this place to 4. It was nice to try something different, but I would not come back. Go to Seafood Station if you're looking for authenticity and quality. read more

We reserved our seating for 4 24 hours I. Advance. We arrived on time and we we taken care of in great fashion by Brooklyn. She was patient considerate and kind. We had my Father joining us who is in his 80s and hard of hearing and not quite sure what some of the menu items really were, however Brooklyn a answered all questions with great grace. She made me quite happy with her relaxed but kind ways. The whole team was great and the meal was really good. We did not wait long for our sharable items and even when o e of our party arrived late the entree arrives quickly The jerk chicken sliders had a nice crisp sliced pepper on top to add to the spice of the jerk seasoning, the impossible Bao Buns with kimchi was perfect and so were the spring rolls.. several at the table ordered the sweet and sour spareribs which were generous, flavorful and tender. I had a very good experience here. Hands down my favorite ramen place anywhere (I had the crispy duck ramen). Yowza! So delicious and crispy, seasoned and garnished perfectly. The staff has the best service I've experienced in Pensacola, from the host to the server and the back of house staff. I tried one of their specialty cocktails, and *chef's kiss* it was like drinking an adult key lime pie. There was a mix of people, with groups and duos and at least one solo. I recommend this spot for a full dinner, or for drinks and apps. The parking (in the lot behind me he restaurant) was plentiful. Found this restaurant by look on Yelp for some place open late and with Asian food. I liked what I saw on the menu and it did not disappoint. I decided on having hot Sake to warm up from the 63 degree weather. We decided on the Buddha plate and the Surf and Turf. Both dishes were amazing. My only recommendation for improvement would be a little more spice on the homemade kimchi. The 4 oz steak was melt in your mouth good. This asian joint is located at the heart of downtown p'cola. Just few blocks from Ride in front of Cactus Cantina. The place is very similar to Khons- asian fusion style just enough table in and out. Bar and Cooking are is very close to the dining area. We came in and the cooking area will greet you. The ambiance is ok, they didn't really think about decoration it's just a very compact place. Nothing major that can attract you back to dine in. Let's talk about the food. I started with hot sake, sounds like a Japanese joint but its not. We started with lobster Rangoon $8, bao bun- charsu and ribs. How the made the fillings were not balance- there's only 4 pcs. Of rangoon 2 have some fillings, 2 doesn't. It doesn't taste like lobster- its just full of cream cheese m, it's s not flavorful. For 2 bao bun $7 is a good price. The meats are very tasty. You can taste how long the meats are marinated so it blends well with buns that came with it. Now, the ramen. We ordered 2 pork ramen. Its starts with the base price of $11- you can create your own ramen. My DYO choice were, ramen noodles with charsu pork belly, ribs $1 and shrimp $3 with black butter garlic $1, baby corn, and shiitake $1, boiled egg $1 along with pork broth. Their pork broth is very bland, almost tasteless. There a hint of pork taste but thats it. Theres not enough flavor in the broth and its very disappointing since thats what we came for. Luckily with the help of black butter garlic, some spicy chili and marinated meats, the food became a little better. For our first visit to this place, spending $72 was not a slam-dunk. Mandy has served us the now 3 times we've dined, and is always friendly, attentive and never steers you wrong with her menu recommendations. The ramen is absolutely bursting with flavor and I love the different Bao Buns. Last time I was there Mandy recommended the Ribeye Bao Buns and I think they are my new favorite! Wow, for a pop-up restaurant, I wish it were a permanent restaurant. They serve authentic Japanese ramen. You'll never know how good it is until you dig in.
