Ok. This place is incredible. Blown away that Vallejo is coming up in the food game, it makes my heart happy. Ii know dim sum being born and raised in the bay are. This is a dumpling house/station/place. Not high end restaurant that is trying to mark up 500%-1000% like some; think Yang Singh in SF. It still worth every penny and will make its place in history. The owners own a couple of places. I see that based on their website. I think they underestimated their potential in Vallejo. This place is going to easily outgrow their location in six-months. It will be impossible to get in. That is smart marketing, like Russian River Brewery, where they limit access, but it will possibly make customers mad. In Vallejo, I would be careful. Ok, that is for the owners and my "oracle" predictions. This place is going to blow up bigger than an atomic bomb in Vallejo. The food. The food is the best price for for dumplings and "dim sum" dumplings I have seen in the bay. Their prices and food is what you ask for in a small joint, and the quality of fantastic for that. For the price, it is unmatched anywhere I have seen. Also, things like Har Gow are not over cooked (they don't use the true Cantonese/mandarin names) which some places really do screw up. I assume they make all dumplings at a central location and they freeze them. That is fine. Most restaurants in dumplings do. If I am wrong, let me know owners. There are a few places that still make them fresh, but if done correctly, it doesn't matter at this amazing price point, quality. This places makes the food and "turns them and burns them". If I can get this quality at this price, I am going to wait. The place is still in honeymoon mode. If you don't know what that is, stop here. The staff is still learning what they are dealing with; Vallejo. They will get better. The only problem, remains that it is small. Very small. So small, I don't want anyone to know about this place. Tables. High quality chili oil, good vinegar, plenty of chop sticks and easy access for to go container and self service. My only complaint. I am a white guy who knows the names and the food. Menu could use online pictures and better descriptions for newbies. Also, my favored dish, the Har Gow, needs more white pepper. Whatever, no stars dinged for that. Loss of one star because of honeymoon and confusion on register based on how busy it was. Staff needs guts. I was standing close to people, tell them to be confident. This is their restaurant. "Excuse me customer" we are packed it ok. Need to deliver this delicious food to someone. Long wait. I can see that being a apzong thing for the kitchen, which after working in back of the house, means good communication. Problem is going to be when this place blows up, you'll never get in. Wasn't bad but wasn't great either . The lumpia is the best thing I've had so far and i highly suggest it . Unfortunately i don't suggest their bao if you are a bao connoisseur or just like good food . The service is pretty standard and it's like any other restaurant inside . I really don't like to give bad or negative reviews but we tried some take out last night. Both the vegetable chow mein and cucumber salad were about the worst tasting food I have ever experienced. Never heard of a vegetable plate without any vegetables. Of course, after fishing thru it we did find a sliver of an onion. I suppose that counts as a vegetable plate. For Vallejo standards, this place is a 5 out of 5! Compared to other places with similar cuisines that I've had, I'd still give it a 4 out of 5. I'm so glad that we have this new restaurant that offers something new to the city's dining options. The inside is updated & clean and has somewhat limited seating. Orders come out relatively quick as well. I've only been here twice, but I've tried a good amount of menu items! My favorites so far would have to be the garlic green beans, crab & pork XLBs, shrimp & egg fried rice, and the wontons in chili oil. I've also tried the regular XLBs, pan-fried pork buns, beef roll, and veggie chow mein. The shrimp fried rice is a HUGE portion that's probably good for 4-5 people and they give a generous portion of shrimp too, which was a pleasant surprise. The crab & pork XLBs are a nice option if you want a change from the regular pork XLBs. The chili oil wontons aren't too spicy and I love the sauce it comes in with the green onions - I like to put some of the sauce over rice! Definitely one of my regular spots now in town! read more

Honestly the soup dumpling (had crab one) is on par with if not slightly better than Din Ding's in Union City. The real steal is the wontons in chili oil; the flavor of that chili oil is one of the best I've tasted (not painfully spicy and may not be spicy enough for spice lovers BUT the flavor is fantastic and it'll be spicy enough for the average person). Small place, veryyyy limited seating, reasonable time for waiting (take out or dine in), and slightly better than frozen (the better kind/ above average) bao and dim sums. We ended up ordering a bunch of stuff and it was ALL good. Fried rice was perfectly cooked but nothing amazing. The chili wontons or dumplings were my favorite and my kids like the shrimp and onion ones. Idk if I'd go back but I'm a dim sum snob used to the og spots in San Francisco. Zero star! Don't expect to have any service here. We ordered noodle and some appetizers, nothing special. BUT, the beef we ordered completely went into trash because you can see the greenish blue color from the beef, tasted like expired, and very very hard to chew, the dish was not edible. First time here for lunch 4 days ago. Ordered grilled squid and char siu bao steamed pork buns. Took a while to come out but the squid was perfectly done, served as rings, and with a light and piquant sauce. Tasty. Bao was nothing special but satisfyingly filling. I'm being generous with the 3 star. I'm a dim sum girlie and this was not it. Things I've tried: - fried pork bun. This one upset me. when i took a bite it was too watery inside like a soup dumpling but it's a pork bun! I did not like the taste either, the stuffing tasted like it belonged in a frozen store bought dumpling. I didn't care for it. -pop corn ck. Second item I tried that gave me a feeling everything else after this was going to be a miss. Unseasoned soggy wannabe boba popcorn ck. T4 has the best popcorn ck so far. -shrimp dumpling. Alright. It wasn't nasty. The texture was nice, can't recall much shrimp. It was too much of the outer dough for me. Too thick. might as well just eat rice. -pork shumai. Decent. Isn't the best I've had but it was good enough where I felt like it wasn't a waste of money. -leek pork & shrimp steamed dumpling. Good. I enjoyed it. Flavor was good texture was good. -lava bun. This was the best out of the 6 items we ordered. Enjoyed it. The presentation was cute. The bun was soft and lava was good. I loved the Sesame Balls and Fried Pork Dumplings, they were delicious! the steamed Pork Dumplings not so much. the bun was wet and mushy in a few spots, the filling was pasty. but I liked the other 2 things so much, I will try new items when I go back. I have mixed feelings about the place in gen. Staff was very friendly and super nice! But a cook in the back was in full view eating over a garbage can and spitting pieces (bones?) in the can while he ate- not appetizing. Also it would be nice to have few chairs outside for people to wait for to-go orders. I found it a bit expensive but if the food is excellent, it's worth it.
