I've grown to respect this place, meaning they really don't care what the customer thinks they just want the money. They don't even pretend like they're trying to minimize the horrid fish smell with a simple action of keeping the fish iced / covered with ice and discard the melted ice water... I wanted to buy some meat and questioned the date that said sell by 8/26/2020 and the current date was 8/27/2020, it wasn't just one package there were multiple packages with the same discard date. I brought it to one of the meat guy's attention and he kinda acted mad at me and just said all the meat is still good to sell. Came here to pick up some condiments that I ran out of, and ended up buying a lot more. I'm thrilled to have a big asian market close by! I ended up getting a lot of stuff there. Second time, brought my parents here and they ended up buying a week's worth of groceries since they were staying with us for a few weeks. However, most of the fruits my parents bought weren't great. The pineapple was very sweet and the persimmons were good. However, the avocados were rotten, even though they felt hard on the outside. The mangoes were green on the outside but once you cut into it, it was like goo. I wasn't sure if it's the temperature they had it in or something because we tried to eat these fruits the first hour we got it! I'm still having a hard time finding certain things like kefir lime leaves and such so I guess I'll still have to drive down to the San Diego asian markets for those or grow my own. read more

Working in this type of service, I do understand that there are customers who can be extremely inconsiderate to employees. However, this place has one of the worst customer service I have experienced. Cashiers are very impolite and tend to be passive aggressive with customers who they know they can bully even if the customer is being polite. Also the one guy working in the seafood section was hostile. It's understandable if they do act like that towards rude customers, but they do this to almost everyone. I live in Menifee and usually have to go far away for many of the variety of items you can find here compared to others. They have a range of products from mexican, Vietnam, Thai, Indian, Japanese and Chinese and especially Filipino variety. A majority of their behalf and fruit product looks very fresh as well! Their meat selection looks like they focus on usda choice selections hence the prices will be higher and not over 2.5 pounds unless posted over the Butcher area. I would go elsewhere for meats. Their Seafood section is nice! Cleaner than other Seafood Cities I've been to. The smell is not very strong or not even there. (Unless I'm just use to the smell of fish in a market hahaha) They also clean and fry fish here for free! Very nice! I'm very impressed and would make the drive to get the essentials for your household. You probably won't buy a 15 pound bag of rice for $7.99 on sale (More like $12.99 here) compared to other areas. Amazing selection of veggies! Very fresh and tons of variety! They have all types of mushrooms and they are so fresh! So many interesting fruits and veggies that you wouldn't find at a grocery store. For example I found sour sop in my country we call it Cherimoya and it was so fresh and so sweet! They had a ton of them! A big pile like instead of a pile of apples at the store, they had a pile of Cherimoyas! So cool! They also have a bunch of fresh coconuts from Thailand and fresh dragonfruit! It's so cool to see a produce department with products from other countries that are right there at your fingertips for your convenience. As you walk down the isles you see products that are not your usual but so interesting you want to try them. Not to mention they have bin bin crackers!! So good! Those things are so addicting. Bad customer service. A white male cashier who works on Saturdays, ignored me when I asked to exchange a bag of noodles because the bag was ripped open. I had to repeat myself three times because the first two times he was ignoring me and talking to his friend in the other paying aisle. Who I presume was a friend and not a coworker. I'm just not understanding why products that needs to be kept frozen aren't in the freezer section. It's clearly printed on the products itself "KEEP FROZEN". Horrible customer service; no pride in their business or products. I went here on new years eve day to get a lobster to prepare for my dinner. It was an uncooked, frozen pacific lobster, 1.5 lb; about $19. When I cooked it (I have done this multiple times, know how to cook gourmet food) it tasted bad and had a strange texture. Also smelled quite strong fishy. Threw it in the outside trash bin so I would not stink up the house. I contacted the manager the next day to inform him of my experience; he basically didn't care; suggested I did likely cook it wrong; felt I should have returned it that night (even though they likely were closed that time on New Years Eve). Felt the store had no responsibility. Left us with the sense he did not need our business in the future, couldn't care less when I told him I would leave as negative review. Since then learned from Yelp reviews this is routine for this market: no customer service or appreciation; bad management and multiple health violation citations. If the owner or management doesn't have the customer service in their vocabulary then that boils down to their staff. Owner or management doesn't even know how to reprint a receipt if requested. I come here for my Asian food items, but the customer service and management is a joke. Food items don't ring up as the price listed, and when questioned the cashier doesn't care and the young white manager was too busy flirting with another girl who was stocking merchandise to go check. I have worked in retail and completely understand how price tags are made and how to read screw numbers, but this boy had no valid explanation as to why the item I purchased rang up a dollar more. And when I asked about honoring a listed sale price (2 coconut creams for $7) he simply just ripped the sale sign off the shelf.
