This truck has crazy good food. If you ever see the truck, run as fast as you can towards it. They have a phenomenal selection of food, specifically the Thai Yellow Curry which is what I ate. The flavors will burst in your mouth. Flavorful curry sauce drapes a combination of soft potato, sweet white rice, bell peppers, and melt-in-your-mouth chicken. The curry is heaven. Even writing this, I crave the yellow curry again. The service is shockingly fast too. Even with a long line, as soon as you order, they give you your food straight away. Don't get me wrong, the food is fresh and warm. They also provide chips and water to go with the entree which was a great surprise. This is a great spot that stops at UCLA at the Sproul Hall roundabout, and I would recommend every UCLA student try this spot at least once in their college life. One of the best Thai food we've had in a long time. Cant get this quality Thai food in the Bay Area. Drunken flat noodles were excellent. Wok fried properly with enough wok heat and sheared in flavors into the veggies and noodles. Ohhh yes, this place is the best Thai food on wheels! 8E8 is a staple at the Ivy Station night markets on the second Fridays of each month and it's quickly become my go-to there. All the food is so fresh and delicious, served steaming hot. This Pad Thai is some of the best I've ever had, with a generous amount of sauce and protein if you add meat. I've also tried Pad See Ew and Yellow Curry here and both are outstanding. Everything is packed with flavor and (I know I already said this but it's so true) fresh, which is impressive coming from a food truck. Not sure if 8E8 has a different quality menu for their pop ups at UCLA, but I definitely didn't think they ATE with the items I've tried from them this past year. As someone who eats Thai food pretty often, I didn't find their items the most authentic, although they definitely do fulfill any cravings I have and are very accessible in the UCLA area. My major problem is that their food either doesn't fit the description, or is improperly cooked. I've had their chicken pad see ew, which had raw, half-cooked chicken and an overwhelming taste of white pepper. Their chicken pad Thai on the other hand contains a few pieces of tough, dry chicken breast. Their spicy pad kee Mao/drunken noodles don't have any spice in them.....you can probably get a good idea of how disappointing even their staple dishes are. Although it's definitely convenient to stop by their food truck whenever at UCLA, I'll gladly take myself to the plethora of Thai restaurants in West LA for better quality food. read more

We came near closing time but it still took 15 minutes to make. I think there was only one person taking orders and cooking so pretty impressive. The utensils, napkins, and sauces were available at the front for you to grab as needed. Beef Kee Mow/Drunken Noodles ($15): He recommended the drunken noodles over the pad see ew but it was very disappointing. The beef was overcooked and chewy. The noodles were lacking flavor so my husband added extra soy sauce. Chicken Pad Thai ($14): He made up for the beef drunken noodles with the chicken pad thai. We had this while the food truck was at the South Bay Lakers venue at the UCLA training center in El segundo.
