8E88 has become a regular spot for us. We love the Pad Ka Pow! The restaurant is clean and has nice decoration. Pretty chill place. The two gentlemen that run the place are awesome and take care of us.

Discovered this gem a few years ago when craving late night Asian food and didn't think jt was real. Open until midnight? In Ventura? I don't know why it took me so long to leave a review. Me and my friends frequent this place all the time for late night eats. Sad that they took off some things from the menu (like the Suki Hang) but I understand... probably needed to streamline the menu for more efficient restaurant. But love having a late night Thai/Ramen shop open in the 805. No need to drive out to the valley or LA. The food is amazing here... I love their Chef's Special ramen. If you love Tom Kha, this is the move. That broth!

Came here by recommendation & it wasn't our cup of tea to be honest.. Tried the Chef Special Ramen which is Tom Kha Soup with ramen noodles. Flavor had too much lemongrass with creamy coconut. Mushrooms were undercooked. Tofu was fresh & crispy I'll say that. 5/10 Also tried the Pad See Ew with Beef. Flavor was bland. Beef and Noodles tasted like tap water for some reason. 1/10 Service wise. We were greeted when we came in but could be dressed more appropriately. Sandals in a restaurant environment? I don't feel too great about that. Tables can also be cleaned a little better. It was sticky..

This place is a gem. Open late, phenomenal asian dishes, loads of options for vegans!!! Ventura needs more businesses like this. 10/10

    Chef Special Ramen!

5 stars A Ramen experience like no other! I don't normally gravitate toward ramen--especially Japanese-style ramen--because it often reminds me of elevated instant noodles with good broth. But 8E88 completely changed my perception. We tried the Chef Special Ramen (mild spice level - 1), and it was phenomenal. What made it stand out was the Thai-inspired broth--a flavorful blend of coconut, lemongrass, and Tom Yum notes that added depth and warmth without being overpowering. It was rich, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked--not too soft, not too firm--and absorbed the broth beautifully. This wasn't your typical ramen. It was a unique fusion that brought together the best of Thai and Japanese comfort food in one bowl. We wouldn't have tried it if it weren't for the glowing recommendation from a regular customer sitting inside--and we're so glad we listened! Special thanks to X & J, two friendly faces we met there who helped make our visit even better. Highly recommend giving this dish a try if you're looking for something flavorful, memorable, and a little different from the usual ramen spots! We got the Chicken Chef Special Ramen $17 and we added fish balls $3 = $20 + tax = $21.55, we got it to go and ended up eating most of it in the car.

First time trying this spot . I got the drunken noodles and they were decent . The noodles were all stuck together which I didn't really like . My wife got the Tom Yum ramen and it was fantastic. The broth was delicious! Service was good since there was only us and another group eating in .

Stopped in for a quick bite. The server wore many hats. He took our order then proceeded to cook it in a hot wok that filled the room with delicious aromas. Try the fried shrimp, crab rangoons and Thai boba tea. All five stars. Beef pad-se-ew had a strange after taste. It was missing black beans hence my four- star rating. Service was perfect. We shall return for other dishes. Thank you!

Yum! Another stellar Thai inspired restaurant in the 805. This restaurant is new and you should definitely check them out. The vibes were causal cute, service was beyond friendly, and the food was really good. I was glad to see that 8E88 Rice & Ramen had opened up as this location as its had its fair share of Asian inspired business come in and out. I really hope this place is successful because this side of Ventura is hurting for some good eats and stellar Thai food. Luckily this restaurant isn't far off the Johnson freeway exit, it's easily accessible and there is plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is cute and cozy. Only about 7-9 small tables. Would be the perfect spot for takeout but I like coming here outside of normal rush hours to ensure I can snag a little table. I love how they've redone the decor in here, the chairs were a cute orange color and super comfortable. This place has a nice pop of color inside and is welcoming. The staff here are really really nice and I felt comfortable even eating here alone as the vibes were good and staff checked up on me a good amount, but it wasn't overdone. I like how nice everyone was and being a new business they are really grateful for your patronage and feedback on your meal and experience. My order was taken quickly and the food came out pretty fast, impressed, definitely a good spot if you only have so much time on your lunch break. Prices were average and I have no complaints. At first I did think almost $6 for a drink was a little steep but I can't lie, the lemon Thai tea was super flavorful and refreshing, it's worth the price all day long for a nice change from a heavy traditional Thai tea. Aside from the tea being really good and refreshing I loved my Tom Kai Ramen. A nice twist on the classic coconut broth soup. The chicken was plentiful and the broth had good flavor. Lots of mushrooms and a whole boiled egg, good value for the amount of toppings. Definitely a tasty dish when you want something a little more unique than tom kai or ramen on their own. This spot has a pretty good sized menu. It was hard to narrow down a choice as they had a lot of tasty looking appetizers, soups, Thai dishes, and sides like fried rice and noodles. Good spot to share or order a small lunch special. Definitely don't sleep on this new business, I want them to be successful and was really impressed with the vibes and food for such a low key casual joint.

I wanted to like this food spot! I just have a couple of comments that dropped me from giving 3/4 stars to 2. I got a to-go order, which I would not recommend. I only live about 10 minutes away, but by the time I got home the food was not edible. I had to re-heat and almost recook some parts of the meal. I probably got the wrong item to take home :/ The service was good, the employee answered all of my questions over the phone, had everything ready for me when I arrived, etc. It is a very small food spot. It is also tucked in the corner and the temporary sign isn't easily seen when driving in. The area/surrounding is okay, there are a few shops in the same complex (smoke shop, donut shop- across); so it's a little random. It might work for those very local to the area in terms of good access to ramen, but I don't think I will go to that part of town or area again- unfortunately.

3.5 stars! We came on a Friday when they opened and we were the only customer. They switched owners 2 months ago. Use to be Toki and then Noodles by Jinny and now 8E88. We ordered the karage chicken, Tom khả ramen, and Panang curry, and a Thai iced tea. The food were okay! Not bad. I was looking for Hainan chicken but didn't see it on the menu but saw it advertised on their yelp page? I would go and check it out for yourself.

R1 Chef's Special Ramen. Pretty filling and I like the Lemon Grass touch to the coconut milk.

Great food and quaint place for a good bite to eat. Very good for a nice sit down and conversation

The lunch special came with a small egg roll and mild side salad (not too much dressing, which was perfect). I just wish there were more egg rolls to come with it lol! It was a great deal for $16 and we had food to take home since the portions were large. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, and the Thai Fried Rice with pork. Both were spectacular! I will say the Pad Thai was a bit on the sweeter side however--just keep that in mind for taste preference. It's this reason that the fried rice was both of our favorite dishes, as its savory umami flavor paired so well with the pork. I could've eaten an entire plate by myself! Service took a bit long to get our food, but they were very kind nonetheless. We will be returning, and we can't wait to try other dishes like their soups and curry!

I ordered a hot pot soup that was simply perfect. The amount of spice was just enough, and I love hot pots because they keep my soup hot. My husband ordered a beef rice bowl and added shrimp to it. The rice bowl was also so delicious. To go along with my meal, I ordered Thai boba tea, and I loved it! The portions are generous, so we had leftovers, which we were happy about! It seemed to take a while till someone brought us water and another little while till our orders were finally taken. We requested two Thai iced teas which were quite delicious with coconut milk subbed for the cows milk. We told the server we would be sharing our orders. We shared a vegan hot pot and a Pad See Ew with chicken. The hot pot consisted of broccoli, shredded cabbage, carrots, steamed tofu, corn, udon noodles, two vegan dumplings, sliced squash, spinach and baby bok choy. Veggies were tender crisp although the broth was rather bland. The Pad See Ew was a bit disappointing. While the sauce was tasty, the broccoli and carrots tender crisp, the chicken was not only dry but quite tough and chewy. I must add, as were sharing these dishes, the server neglected to bring additional plates and a serving ladle for the soup. So my hubby had to go inside find someone and request the serving utensils for both dishes, plates and eating utensils for sharing. So we waited again. Not sure what folks ate that gave a five star review . What we experienced fell a couple notches below that rating. Would I return? Probably not, there are better options in Ventura.

The ambiance was one of the highlights of my visit. I was dining solo and ordered the eggplant basil. It was okay, but not quite what I expected. While the dish had fresh string beans, onions, and bell peppers, I felt it was lacking in both eggplant and basil, which are kind of the stars of the dish. I also thought it was a bit odd that I wasn't asked about my preferred spice level when ordering, as most Thai restaurants usually do. After my food arrived, the staff did come back to ask if I wanted it spicier and kindly provided three different chili sauces, which I appreciated. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, and overall the service left a positive impression. One dish came much earlier than another, with drinks somewhere in between. The delay on the drinks might have had something to do with the boba in our Thai teas, which was still warm but also very hard, probably undercooked. It was pretty much inedible which was disappointing. The tea itself was just fine. My dad said his Pad Thai was a bit mushy, but my food was pretty good. I ordered drunken noodles with chicken at spice level 4. They were among the top 5 for Thai restaurants I've had, though they do face stiff competition from my top 3, two of which are also less expensive. The spice level was also a lot less intense than what I expected from reading reviews. If you know that you can typically handle spice I'd recommend level 4 or even 5, which I'll have to try at some point. However, it's not particularly likely I'll choose this one again soon over some other less expensive, friendlier, and more consistent options in the county.
