Acrylic nails with OPI gel polish. Created by Sophia

I normally love this place but I came in the other day for nails and toes and within two days I'm having issues. My toe is throbbing. I don't see an ingrown nail so I suspect an infection brewing. It hurts so bad. Also one of my nails is already chipped. I'm so nervous about my toe, I hope I don't have to seek medical attention. The tools they use are not sanitary!!

The studio itself is clean, modern, and cozy, so it really feels like you can switch off for a bit while they take care of you. What really stands out, though, is the level of detail in their work. They specialize in Russian manicure and structured gel, and it shows in how precise, careful, and long-lasting the results are - your nails come out looking flawless and stay that way for weeks. Every cuticle is perfected, every edge is smooth, and they take their time to get the shape and finish exactly right. It's the perfect place to get your nails "tuned up" - whether you're maintaining a classic look or trying something more elevated, you walk out feeling polished and a little bit spoiled. I'd happily recommend Pixie Lab and specifically Veronika, who gave me home care tips and helped me treat a problem.

I visited Pixie Beauty Lab today for a full set gel manicure with a senior technician. Overall, I…read morehad a good experience and I'm giving them 4 stars. The appointment took around 2.5 hours, and I liked the final color and overall look of the nails. The salon itself is very clean and has a luxury/self-care vibe. As soon as I walked in, they offered me a complimentary fancy drink and a small treat, which was such a nice touch. They also have iPads available during the service, so I ended up watching Emily in Paris while getting my nails done. What impressed me the most was their cleanliness. After each customer, they thoroughly cleaned everything with Clorox wipes, including the desk, chairs, and surrounding area. As a first-time customer, they also gave me 10% off plus a cute little gift bag with cuticle oil, hand cream, and nail care instructions. The reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I expected a little more attention to detail for a professional service at this level. A couple of nails had small imperfections. For example, one thumb wasn't fully covered near the edges and part of it looked matte, almost like the top coat didn't fully seal the edge. One other nail also had a slightly uneven surface. They're small details, but noticeable up close. Overall though, I enjoyed the experience, loved the atmosphere, and would consider coming back again to try other technicians.

In the middle of it, one of the machines ran out of battery and they did not notice and when they went to do a second coat, everything got really wrinkled. The work felt rushed and sloppy, with several basic steps clearly skipped. The finish was uneven and lacked attention to detail, which is unacceptable given the prices they charge. What bothered me the most was the hygiene. The tools did not appear to be properly sterilized and were reused between clients, which is honestly concerning and made me very uncomfortable. Cleanliness should be a non negotiable standard in a nail salon, especially when it comes to personal care services. On top of that, they require a minimum 18 percent tip, which feels completely unjustified considering the poor quality of the service. The prices are already high, and for such mediocre results and questionable hygiene practices, it simply does not make sense. I will not be coming back. It is a real shame because I was hoping to find a high quality, professional nail salon, but this was definitely not it. Edit : I think you should remind your employees about the hygiene more than remind me that I can ask about tipping options

I walked in after lunch and was able to book a…read moresame-day appointment for about three hours later, roughly an hour before closing, which worked out fine for my schedule. The atmosphere was genuinely pleasant. The spa was clean, well-organized, and appeared to use quality products. First impressions were solid. My only issue was fit rather than quality. I'm a guy who works out and does Olympic lifting, and I get pedicures about once a month, so my feet tend to be heavily calloused and need firm, thorough work. My technician had a lighter touch that didn't quite address that. The result was the least effective pedicure I've had, though I want to be clear that's likely a mismatch more than a reflection of her skill. The salon itself seems like a good option for many people. It just wasn't the right fit for my specific needs, and I probably should have communicated what I was looking for upfront.

At the end of the service, she told me that if anything broke within 7 days, I could return for a free fix. By Monday night, one nail had broken and there was visible damage to the tips of several others. I called Tuesday and was told to come in and that my manicure would be redone at no charge. However, when I returned Wednesday, I was informed after the service that I would need to pay full price because the employee I spoke to was new and hadn't documented anything about a break or fix in my profile. After some back and forth, they offered $20 off due to their internal miscommunication. At that point, I chose to pay and leave rather than continue debating their policies and communication issues. That is not something a customer should have to navigate. Clear policies, proper staff training, and communication are the responsibility of ownership and management. If I had known I would be charged again, I would not have come back at all. It's not reasonable to pay for two manicures in less than five days. I would expect my nails to last at least two weeks. Due to the inconsistent communication and unclear policies, I will not be returning to y2 nails.
