This is the Rise and Shine with the country ham upgrade.

Good food, friendly service, ample servings, and you are in and out pretty quick even when it's busy, which has been every time we have been in. It is a diner, nothing fancy.

Rise and Shine Diner in Hanover is incredibly efficient. We were seated right away, the ambiance is very retro with walls covered in advertisements, and the food came out lightning fast. It was probably the fastest dining experience I've ever had. I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and they were to die for. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and the icing was the perfect amount. I also got eggs, hash browns with onions, and rye bread. Everything was delicious, especially the well seasoned hash browns and fluffy eggs. Only issue was with drinks. Our waitress brought the wrong drinks, and when we asked for the correct ones, they never came. It felt like a one off, and I'll still be back. The food is worth it.

Rise and Shine and face the day at this cheerful diner!

Always a great experience at this local diner! The food is consistently great and the service is always fast and reliable! The breakfast menu is fantastic! I really can't count the times I've come here with many different friends and we always leave happily content and satisfied! The country vibe is sprinkled with devotional quotes and signage with community appreciation! One of the best diners around!!

Wow! Why haven't I stopped here before! This place is definitely a local favorite. Went for brunch on a week day, and it's busy. I can imagine it's crazy busy on the weekend. When you walk in all you see is a register stand, out dated furniture, painted murals, patches and adds on the wall. We didn't have to wait too long, and the waitress was spot on! What makes this place amazing is the food and reasonable prices! Some of the food are made from scratch. And the "Cornedbeef Hash" was one of them. They added green bell peppers and onions, Hash and used real Cornedbeef!! You get 2 eggs, hashbrowns and toast or biscuit. It was tasty, but I suggest the biscuit with it rather then toast. It's nice and fluffy. Also ordered off a special dinner menu "Tappahannock Bennie" fried oyster, pouched egg, muffin, hollandaise sauce and substituted the fries for onions rings with an up charge. Everything was amazing the food the price and hospitality! Will definitely make this place one of my faves!

Salt of the earth kind of place. Nothing fancy but gets the job done. It exceeded my expectations. I would definitely come here over Cracker Barrel or First Watch. The eggs seemed higher quality. Plus, you're supporting a local business which always is a perk.

S.O.S, cinnamon roll pancake and Scrapple - those were the highlights and all delicious!

S.O.S - very good! Cinnamon Roll pancake - my daughter loved it. Scrapple - my husband loved it - fried crisp and he put it on the biscuit, which he loved! Service was excellent and quick! Definitely a 10/10 for food and service - we'll definitely be back! A+

It was pretty good. Our biscuits and gravy were a little cold. The coffee wasn't great. The hash browns were amazing. The pancakes and eggs were really good. Friendly service,

This food here is delicious! The service was amazing! It's a little tight inside but well worth it. My mom ordered blueberry pancakes an egg and fatback and I had salmon cakes corn beef hash and two eggs

What a delight! We always look for small town diners when we travel, and this is as good as it gets! Friendly servers help you decide between seemingly endless menu choices with a specials menu to boot! Right off the highway and next to a Sheetz gas station. No wait. A definite must-stop if you're in the area and hungry.

My family and I ate here twice while visiting and both experiences were stellar. Efficient, friendly, and top notch food. Their specials are just that, SPECIAL!

What a cool find and it is close to our house! We had friends in town that wanted some breakfast before hitting the road. So we tried here. There was a short wait... about 15 min. But the staff were very friendly and attentive! The menu is pretty broad and everything that we had was good! This is a very nice local diner to try out!! They do breakfast and lunch. It is in a small strip mall so there is plenty of parking as well! Definite worth a return!

Went here for breakfast about 8:30 on a Saturday and it was great. They had a line, but the line moved quickly. We had coffee and water pretty quickly while we decided what to eat. I ordered the veggie omelet and it was yummy. The others ordered the breakfast sandwich and pancakes. Everyone enjoyed their food. Would definitely go back!

I used to come here with my dad growing up. When I think "diner", I think of this place. Reasonable prices and great service.

The poor cashier was running back and forth taking orders and then helping prepare the food. She was kind enough to offer a free soda and apologize before any wait even happened -- but after hearing that, a large group of travelers decided not to order and walked out. If you're going to advertise with such big claims, you should be staffed properly to deliver on them. There seems to be a serious management issue here. Either hire more people or rethink the signage that keeps attracting more customers than the staff can handle. By the time I started writing this review, I had already been waiting about 20 minutes for a simple order. I hope they address the staffing and improve the overall experience. Spoiler alert: they're not the greatest burgers.
