The food was incredible and I loved the berry/kale smoothie. I would highly recommend this vegan restaurant experience.

This is a MUST VISIT place when visiting the north shore of Oahu. They are located in beautiful Haleiwa town. The ambience is cute with elements of Vegas and surfing. There is even a slot machine (for decor only) in their dining area. We were honored to have met the owners, who brought their love of cooking and experience from Las Vegas to our islands. We had the Jackfruit 'Krabby' Cakes and their special of the day, the Mushroom Gyro. Oh mmm Gee! A-mazing! The Krabby Cakes are served in a bed of rice with gently wilted spinach topped with a perfectly made 'crab' cake and topped with their homemade vegan hollandaise sauce. The flavors were spot on! You can order a single or two pieces. The portion is big. We ordered two and shared. For the daily special, the Gyro - also a nice healthy portion - was laid out on delicious pita bread and piled with Lyon's Mane mushrooms, lettuce, hummus and other amazing ingredients. Vegans exploring the north shore of Oahu rejoice! This is the spot, an oasis in the north shore/haleiwa area, to fulfill your dining dreams! The place has Las Vegas and surfer themes to it. The menu has a bit of everything so you're bound to find many items that sound good, and that's not even mentioning the specials they have in addition to the menu. The staff were really nice as well. Seems like there's only two of them working so if it gets busy you may have to be a little patient. Parking was really nice and easy in the adjacent lot next to the usps. read more

Let me preface by saying that I am not close to being vegan or vegetarian...But i love food and my bestie that lives in Waialua is a vegetarian so I like to check out new spots. HIGHLY recommended 9th Island if you are up in Haleiwa. Its a cute vegas themed interior. The owner came out to chat with us they moved here from Vegas since they fell in love with hawaii. Her hubby ia the chef and her son ia also working there. The food was delicious! I had a "gyro" special which was so good! We LOVED this place! It was the best vegan loco moco I've ever had (out of three places) and my husband who loves to eat meat actually loved his quesadilla too. The couple that was working there (owners?) was very friendly! We did not have to wait at all and you pay when you order which saves waiting to leave. My go-to vegan cafe on the North Shore. Love the variety on their menu. The tostada pizza was my favorite. I love the beans and chili on it. The crust was a little bread that was yummy. Would get it again. Decent personal size with 4 slices, too. Had the Mocko loco that had delicious gravy. Had the fried pickles and the side Caesar as well. Cute wooden table and walls inside. Surfing and Vegas decor inside. Very clean. They just opened 2 months ago. Love the bench seating on one side. Order at the counter on the right. They bring it to your table. Closed on Thursdays, but open 10-4 the rest of the week. Cafe is run by this couple. She minds the front with the orders and customer service. He is in the back making the food. Homemade ricotta and other items. Lots of outdoor seating in the shade. Perfect place to bring your dogs. The music wasn't too loud. Clean single-stall all gender bathroom. Love this little spot; it's not what you'd think of immediately for a vegan place, but that's what I like about it. The couple who runs this place are the sweetest, most heartwarming people who really just want to make you a good vegan meal. I took my partner here who, very adamantly, LOVES to eat meat, and even yet from bite one it was all just WOW this is SO GOOD and "when can we come back?" We got the stuffed pasta shells and the hamburger pizza, and, of course - the Cesar salad. Suffice it to say there were no leftovers and no one leaving hungry at the end of our meal the only thing I wish is that they were open for dinner so I could have their meals after work! She took our order, answered our questions, gave us a taste of the jackfruit and explained how her's was different and better. I had never had it before, but it hit the spot. With a choice like this, why would you even think to eat at McDonald's down the block. Well, that was never a consideration for me anyway. With touches from the owners time in Vegas, 9th Island Vegan was hands down the most unique spot I ate at in Hawaii. Located on the quieter end of Haleiwa, 9th Island Vegan has plenty of indoor tables and a street-side small patio with several tables and some umbrellas for shade. You'll walk up to the counter to order, but food and anything you need will be delivered table service. As a plant-based eater for nearly 20 years, I am always overwhelmed by the amount of choices on an all-vegan menu, because as the owner said to me - "at most restaurants, you're just an afterthought!". This menu was no exception and I had to turn to reviews to choose what to order. I ordered the caesar salad as a side (a MUST-try, I'll seriously be dreaming about this salad until I'm back - and the side salad is HUGE, it could be a meal in itself) and the Jackfruit Melt Sandwich. OMG we were so so glad we did!!! 9th island is in the historic surf town of Haleʻiwa and all I can say is WOW! We were so impressed! The wonderful and very kind family owned fully vegan Restaurant is truly Magical. The owners are from Las Vegas.. so it has a cute Vegas Vibe. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and gave us great suggestions and we talked about why they became vegan. The food is Truly amazing!!! Even if you aren't a vegan or haven't really enjoyed vegan foods in the past I know that you will love it. The husband wife and two kids aren't chefs by trade but learned and perfected recipes that are just phenomenal. It's almost as if you can taste the Love and time that was put into your meal! The food is so creative and delicious. We had three things: buffalo cauliflower bites, Cheeseburger Pizza and the special Ioins made mushroom (that Looked just like meat) over a bed of freshly made fettuccini . The cauliflower was a perfect balance of healthy and fried with a rich ranch dip and and crispy coating. You must try this here. The cheeseburger pizza was made with beyond burger and had a lovely char on the meat pieces and again this sauce was a perfect balance of eating pizza and burger at the same time.. comforting and filling. The special of the day was also very delicious and the lions Maine mushrooms Looked just like aged beef over pasta (my photos don't do it justice). My friend who has never likes mushrooms tried it and liked it. I found it a little bit too heavy but still delish..but that's just my personal preference.. Bottom line is that you must must try this place because it is so crazy delicious! We were lucky to enjoy a delicious and hearty meal yesterday! For lunch, we were hungry and ordered the Lasagna Roll, Mediterranean Pizza, and Potato Hash. A Caesar Salad comes with the Lasagna Roll, and the salad alone would have been worth an order. The chef coated every piece of lettuce perfectly with a savory and umami dressing and croutons, fantastic. The Lasagna Roll had the perfect blend of sauce and cheese, crispiness and melt. The Mediterranean Pizza was bursting with toppings as you can see from the pics, and was so satisfying. And the Potato Hash, like the rest of the dishes, was so savory and creamy but not too salty, and came with a lovely piece of Texas toast. I suspect the chef is one of those people who takes pride in doing everything right without the pretension. Every thing was perfectly sauced, and the ingredients and toppings all used with care. We met the owners Saudia, DK the chef & their son Nick....what nice folks. We ordered the Patty Melt, Jackfruit Melt, the Oyster Mushroom Philly Sandwich, and the Funnel Cake with strawberries, blueberries & whip cream for dessert. Oh, my, all the flavors were so yummy. We tried each other's dish and were so delighted. They were all so very delicious! They were filling but we went for the dessert too....so glad we did. We were going to only eat half our meals & take the rest home but they were so delicious we could not stop. The owners are such great & personable folks making you feel at home.
