I had my things stored in this place for a couple months since I hardly come I never noticed the Rat problems they had .. When I went on Sunday 02/21/2021 to check out my things after opening the door I smelled urine which was impossible for a human being to possibly pee there then I started to move things around there was rat feces everywhere all over my things I had to throw a lot things away due to the rat chewing up and peeing everywhere.. the insurance you pay for does not cover it so if you have Valuable stuff I suggest you TAKE OUT ! ASAP they will not compensate you for your loss even if your paying insurance TERRIBLE! They don't even make anybody aware of this problem super bad for Customers not worth paying almost $200 to have your things ruined ! read more

Wow, wow, wow. This is by far the best facility that I have used for my storage needs. And I have used 4 different company's thus far. Gilbert and his team are TOP notch as communication has always been on point via e-mail. text or phone to alert me of any changes or business needs. Clean facility, lot's of security, individual alarm on unit, early and extended hours for my use (6 am - 10 pm) makes it super convenient. Wide elevators, moving supplies, restrooms and even music in the hallways to keep you company. Overall, I can go on and on what this facility offers and their super friendly team. I was very glad to use their service and wished there was something close to my new address in Van Nuys. If you're thinking of bringing your special belongings to this storage DON'T. They have rats and they fail to mention that when you go check out the units. I found feces and urine all over all my personal belongings. They only provided me with 2 rat traps and if I wanted more I had to go buy them myself. We pay a cleaning and maintenance fee for a reason and they still want us to take our own supplies. Already looking for a different storage, the prices are going up and it's totally not worth it. read more

I had my brand new items in this unit as well as personal belongings that are older and dear and they were destroyed by rats i trusted my items to be well kept and I found them damaged and full of rat pee and poo. I called and the manager didn't offer too much help. He even said that he knew there was a problem and opened other units. But he never called me. I lost a new recliner, book shelve unit and had to get rid of my dishes and pots. I also had some nice shoes that were full of neat looking stuff so we tossed them. Be careful where you store your belongings. I lost countless items that I will not fight about. I feel defeated. I didn't even want to clean this, I went to try to salvage and my allergies flared and my left eye got swollen. I still have to go read more

Long story short: Take your money and belongings elsewhere, to a clean, safe storage facility where your patronization is appreciated. I have rented a unit at A-1 storage Bell Gardens for 3 1/2 years and I cannot tell you how many times they have unjustifiably increased my rental unit , which is standard for many storage places, however for what you receive? They shouldn't be charging anything extra. 1. Within the first month of me moving into my unit, I discovered the place had roaches that infiltrated my unit. When I complained to the front office they said "oh yeah, it's because one of the tenants was storing food but we evicted them." They sprayed, but of course the roaches came back the next month I returned. Absolutely DISGUSTING. 6 months later they had the nerve to go up on the rent. 2. Last year, in the middle of scorching hot July heat, I went to my unit to move a refrigerator out and surprise, surprise: the air conditioning wasn't working in the building, and the elevator was NOT working, even though I was told I pay extra because "I have elevator access." What a joke. I had hired two movers so I couldn't come back, and the front desk associate said we could move my refrigerator down the stairs, which has never had air conditioning. I didn't receive any notifications that the elevator was out prior, nor did I recieve any reduction on the rent the subsequent month, only a pathetic, "sorry, someone is supposed to come fix it in a week or so." Just ghetto and appalling. Oh and a month later, they went up on my unit. Now we're in the middle of a pandemic and a global financial crisis, in which rental property and mortgage rates have significantly been reduced, and they have the gall to raise my rent again. I reached out to the property manager about decreasing my rent considering the pandemic and seeing that they have advertised drastically lowered rates, now. The manager of course "couldn't do anything" so I reached out to the regional manager whom is completely unprofessional and did not even attempt to reach out to me even once. Instead he raises my rent a month later. Shame on you! This place has roaches, break-ins all the time, broken elevators; just outright ghetto. And the only consistency they maintain is unethically and unjustifiably raising the rent. There are too many other storage places in the area, I highly recommend you don't waste your hard earned time and money with A-1 Storage in Bell Gardens, or any A-1 Storage facilities for that matter. And to the greedy, unprofessional regional manager, please understand how you poorly treat your customers, especially long-term customers, will surely come back to you thanks to karma. read more

False advertisement!!! No free month!!!! One thing I dislike are lies. My brother and I decided to check this place out and saw a HUGE banner that stated "First month free". We asked the guy at the front desk for their prices, he simply said "pick up that green pamphlet"... so much for customer service. Anyhow, after looking at their pretty high prices, I asked him about the promo they have on the banner. He said that it had been a while that the promotion has expired so I made a comment like "Oh, so that's false advertisement". He looked at me and just lifted his shoulders giving me the "Meh, I don't care" expression. He stated that he's told his manager to remove it, but that his manager just brushes it off because people can see the banner from afar. Convenient... I guess. We decided to go elsewhere. WARNING! This is not a safe place to store your belongings. I had a very bad experience here, and I wasn't the only one. Most of my belongings were stolen. The employees here are no help at all when things go missing. Also, their insurance policy is nothing but a lie. If you plan on storing your belongings here then I suggest you take pictures of your belongings once you're done storing them. Just in case your things go missing too. read more
