I had the worst experience of my life at this so called freindly neighborhood storage facilitie. JENNIFER the girl who runs the place is just bad news(I think she was on drugs or something). She tried to say that i was tring to break in to my own unit. She caled La Mesa Police on me and im still not to clear on what she told them? Needless to say i wont be using them again . La mesa P.D. we're really nice and polite, i showed them some i.d. and my paper paperwork and they told me to have a nice day. I will be moving out of there. Dont go there unless you like being harassed. read more

I have moved quite a bit, and stored in several different places, with different companies. My experience at this location was incredible. Seamless to get started, great location of the unit, and I really appreciated the security. I was out of state the entire time I stored with this location, and I never encountered any problems. Grace at A-1 is professional and knowledgeable. Everyone knows moving is stressful. She has a way of putting a customer at ease. A - 1 is a little pricey (Grace has no control over that issue). The units are comparable size to other companies. The company could do a better job with cleaninest between customers. However. I give Grace 5 stars and A- 1 3.5 stars. read more

My son and I stopped into A-1 on Center Dr yesterday to see some of the units for rent, Eric was at the counter, He was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable, He told us what they had available at this time and mentioned one of the deals that they had for one of the units. He answered all our questions politely and made us feel this spot would be a good choice! So we signed up. It's amazing what a person with CUSTOMER SERVICE skills can do for a company! It's one thing to know all the facts but equally important is a smile and friendly and outgoing personality behind that counter! My son and I had stopped in one other A-1 spot that day. .. and did not feel that same "welcome" at all. Customer Service skills is a lost art and more owners would do well to pay attention to what type of person they have hired to greet customers and make them welcome. Eric great job! read more

I always preach customer service and this location has it! TARA and KIARA are super duper sweethearts answered all questions with a huge smile. They remember me every time I go in and are the main reason chose I this facility (I'm big on customer service). And the prices are very very competitive. They have push carts you can use for transporting your belongings to you storage unit. There are 3 floors so they have an elevator and stairs for access. read more

This facility is well maintained and the two gals who run the office are very efficient, friendly and just overall offer AMAZING customer service. They decorate the front office, which is a nice touch and the grounds are really well maintained. I called asking about space on a Thursday and moved in the following Monday. I was only there less than a year and there was an $8/month increase for an already overpriced 5 x 10 unit (2016 rates are now $124 for a teeny unit). The people were nice but half of the carts don't fit in the elevator and are near impossible to maneuver. I already mentioned this to them and they said use the small cart...then while moving out, the girl walking the units said that there were no security cameras inside! Even my cheaper unit way out in Lakeside had cameras! I could not recommend this place. It's clean enough but hardly worth the investment. BTW, I'm NOT a robot...or doing some sort of advertisement. read more
