Right from the beginning, I received a message from their team, Melissa and the communication was incredibly prompt, friendly, and professional. Mark and Val greeted me when I arrived and Val personally showed me the two storage units I was interested in. Let's put it this way -- their drive-up units are so popular there's actually a waiting list for them. As Val walked me through one of their newly built climate-controlled buildings, it honestly felt like Fort Knox with how secure and well-maintained everything was. The property was spotless, modern, organized, and gave me a really safe feeling knowing belongings would be protected there. Even though I ended up needing something different for convenience purposes, I still wanted to recognize the great customer service and positive experience I had here. You can tell they genuinely care about the property and the people renting from them. On the day of the move in, I was confused as to how the security system worked and the code for some reason did not work. I called in to ask and Jack was able to quickly fix the code issue as well as providing a thorough explanations as to how the gates work & how to make sure my unit was secure. Very responsible, kind and patient, I am glad to have someone like him managing the facility. Would highly recommend! The price for the unit was extremely reasonable as well compare to other storage facilities in San Jose.

I initially thought having a pull-up unit at SecureSpace Storage on Lonus would be convenient, but…read moreI quickly realized it was a mistake. My items were constantly covered in dirt and debris, making it impossible to grab anything quickly without deep cleaning it first. At one point, I noticed rodent control packets had been placed inside my unit, which raised concerns--especially since I used my own lock from a previous unit. It seemed like someone had accessed my space and thrown them in. By the time I moved out, there were clear signs of a rodent infestation--feces on the ground and items that had been chewed through, forcing me to throw some things away. On top of that, the unit doors are old and unreliable. Mine got stuck multiple times, and on one occasion, I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get someone to help--on a Sunday, no less. The biggest reason I left, though, was the rental rate hikes. I started at $151/month, and within a year, it jumped to $269. They raise rates multiple times a year, anywhere from $30-$45 per increase, which is unsustainable for long-term storage. A rep eventually told me that you can call to request a rate freeze when you get a price increase notice. I did this, and he claimed it was submitted--but sure enough, my rent still increased. That was the final straw. If you value your belongings and want to avoid rodents, unsanitary conditions, questionable security, aging units, and skyrocketing rent, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

As far as this place, they don't even email you letting you know of price hikes "back to market rate," they send a certified letter in the physical mail. They know these are easier to miss. They don't hesistate to email constantly about paying them though. The location is convinent and quiet with nice tree coverage which is nice to drive up to. Honestly, we are just done with paying to store things we may never use again especially given these tricky price schemes. Save your money and sell/donate your things if you can. Clutter free living has been such a weight off. You can do it too! Good luck.

Luckily, this location had exactly what we needed - a climate controlled 10x20. Anthony invited us to stop by and take a look at the unit and facility. We were amazed at how clean the building, grounds, as well as the unit was. As first time storage unit renters, Anthony took time to explain our options and how access/security works. On move day, Anthony was super helpful with 'locking down' one of the elevators in the building so that our move crew could go up and down without needing to press the access code in each time. Luckily there were no other large moves happening at the same time so that this could be done. This saved a lot of time for us, and we truly appreciated it! Anthony and the other employees at this location have been extremely friendly, communicative, and easy to work with. We also felt that the pricing was very fair for the time of year we rented (end of March) for a climate controlled unit. We highly recommend this location if looking for a unit in the Santa Clara area.
